They might do some kind of Phoenix story. But I don't think they're touching Phoenix Saga and Dark Phoenix Saga with a ten foot pole.
After Fox has done it twice, there's no way Disney will do it again but the bright side is, then that means Jean stays around in the MCU much longer than she would have if they were to adapt the DPS.
Is this perfect time for the pink powers to show up?

OK let's be real, after reading 8 issues of this drivel I'm convinced Jean is gonna either faint or give a speech, 50/50, people place your bets!
I'll be more than happy to eat my words in case marvel decides to surprise us

The solicits already show she gets bodied either way. :p

everyone has to lose so age of x-man can happen

Well I'm sure that no one expects Jean to win, pink form or not, legion+X-man it's just too much, I think what some of us would love is for Jean to go down fighting, personally I'm begging for a little sign that she is putting some effort into it!

True. I think Marvel just stated X-Man is #1 most powerful, Legion #2. They did not mention Jean at all.

I mean, they're not wrong. This has been the case for a long time. They had to nerf Nate Grey on at least two occasions. Ditto for Haller. They're both psuedo reality warpers. If I'm not mistaken, they once said Nate at full power could fight a fully powered Phoenix. You shouldn't want Jean on that level, because no one ever stays there. Either they get nerfed or written out, sometimes both.

By 2028, After 3 succesful MCU X-Men movies and 2 crossover movies the audience will have completely forgotten there were FOX movies before (of course it's a joke, but the audience is quite like that) and by the 5th movie they will be doing their phoenix arc just right and despite the changes to the story, we will feel that they kept the essence of the story!
;)

Oh I have no doubt that they'd keep the essence of the story intact, I'm just in no hurry to see it realized on the big screen. I'd like to see a MCU Jean Grey around for a nice, long time.
do you guys think her role in age of x-men will be good?

Careful what you wish for. After the first three X-movies, Emma fans clamored for her to be in a movie.
We got... January Jones.
Yeah...

After 2 movies with phoenix we have to be realists that we won't see another phoenix saga on movies for a good time

...unless Disney wants to do it and do it right. Then we would...
do you guys think her role in age of x-men will be good?
I have some hopes. The writers have handled her well the other time they wrote her, and from the cover of #1 she seems to be the leader or at least have a main role.

Disney won't want to the same story for the 3rd time. Look how they changed up Spider-Man completely...

This is true but the good thing about Kevin Feige and Disney is they have a knack for casting the perfect people to realize the characters on the big screen, I trust them to make good choices when casting the X-Men.

Poor Emma! And poor Jannuary Jones! I imagine it:
-"What do I do?"
-"Just stand here looking bored".
But to be honest, I don't think Singer's idea of casting Sigourney Weaver for the part would have been great too!
I too want to see Jean Grey, not Phoenix, for a little while but I know that, one day , they will have to treat the Phoenix/Dark Phoenix storyline and I hope this time they will make it big!
I'm going to guess that after this upcoming event is over we're going to get a triangle again of Scott/Jean/Logan, though without Jean married to Scott so she'll bounce back and forth to a point between them...sadly...
Anyway I wonder how Jean will then react to both Scott and Logan being alive again...
I just fear that Disney would want to pass on Jean. Sometimes it feels that of the core and iconic x-men she is the one that is usually left out.
Jean still very much loves Scott. She said she wishes he were alive here with her, not Logan. We already saw her react to Logan being alive. I expect Scott to generate some emotions from her

I don't believe the love triangle will be Scott/logan/jean. Marvel isn't hinting on anything romantic for Logan/Jean. Maybe on the final issue of return of wolverine, but seems unlikely.
I'm sure there will be a triangle, Scott/Jean/guy from age of x-man
Okay, another one I think would be a good contender especially if they want to go younger is Maya Hawke, the daughter of Uma thurman and Ethan Hawke, next in Stranger Things s3, I saw her act, she's quite a good actress with a wide range of expressions!

It seems like it's gonna be Bishop. I'm... okay with that.

She has a very nice facial structure (i'm talking like a serial killer haha). She has the looks, really look like a young Jean Grey,
If I was feige, I would go for early 20s. Not teenagers, but also not full adults.
I would like to think there is not going to be a love triangle but this is marvel so it will probably happen because apparently people like love triangles. Is not like love triangles make every character/relationship look bad or anything.
I love Jean's relationship with Scott but it has it's own problems, independent of any other relationship Jean starts. It's a different story that will move at his own phase. Sure marvel will probably **** on it to prop up the next but that's how marvel works. I'm happy to know that they still love each other.
I don't think any other than Claremont is really interested in Jean/Logan. I don't have anything againts it but Marvel has avoided it so much i don't think it will happen.
I hope marvel treats everything with care, it is possible to make everybody happy but marvel isn't known for that.

You know, although not problem with Bishop and Jean, why is he such a popular option around here?. Seems a bit random, i always thought that Warren make more sense if they wanted an alternative for Scott.

It seems random to me too. I suppose it was because that typhoid mary "crossover". it's so ironic because i find him so similar to scott

Mainly? It makes sense for the context of Age of X-Man, and it makes for pretty good drama. That's all.

Well he tried to kill her son at some point, you could milk some good drama out of that, still seems a bit weak to me, but the dating pool is not very big this days for the X-Men. I still think that Warren would make a lot more sense.

He also tried to kill her adopted grand daughter and shot Charles in the face. So her choices are the him, or the guy who used the power that only truly responds to her to kill Charles. Winning combos.

Nah.Warren was never meant to be, it would make zero sense to happen now.
X-men is a very small dating pool, and Jean only ever had the closest to a romantic story with logan. Anyone else is random

you guys watched the first 3 x-men movies and wanted Emma to be in a x-men movie? oh well...;)
Warren is like a super handsome flirtatious friend and that's okay anything more would complicate things for both. Also I like Warren and Betsy.

X1 and X2 were solid movies. X3 was a nightmare, but I still had hope for the series until Origins: Wolverine. That was... unpleasant.

Similar on guys extremely focused on work. Bishop doesn't suffer from insecurities or manpain, only had 1 girlfriend.
Seems like a improvement if serious guys are what Jean is going after

I love Wolverine but the first three movies were bad for everybody not named Wolverine, Magneto or Xavier.
I love Wolverine but the first three movies were bad for everybody not named Wolverine, Magneto or Xavier.
I mean, in fairness, the last three movies were pretty bad if you weren't named Xavier, Magneto, or Mystique. Even then...
As far as Stewart, he seemed to be based on the 90s Animated Series version, while McAvoy is the comic book "every bit as bad as Magneto, but on the other side" Xavier.
I'm not sure whether or not Warren is even going to the little pocket reality or whatever with Jean and the others or if he's staying in the 616 verse, if it's the latter then it'd be impossible for him to be the one that Jean is supposed to kiss...besides which his situation with Betsy would need to be figured out first imho...
I just fear that Disney would want to pass on Jean. Sometimes it feels that of the core and iconic x-men she is the one that is usually left out.
I wouldn't worry too much. In most incarnations of the X-Men in media, they usually feature Jean on the team. I think the only time they didn't on a cartoon was in the anime and even then, she was sorta in it. Though usually, she's on the team and in video games, she used to be one of the playable characters.
