Soooo... we think that's Elixir in the left? I hope so!
I don't know what to say. I have questions. I would be happy to see Magneto as part of an X-Men team again, and I like the white costume, but I can't let myself do a happy dance because this doesn't make sense. Is this a fantasy world again? An alternate timeline? Are they in the Savage Land? The vegetation is so weird. (Beautiful but weird.)
I love the art. It looks intriguing and exciting. But what is happening with Magneto, and who is the girl next to him in the page of art? One of the Cuckoos? I can't see any of the three wearing a sack-dress like costume--although I really really love the costume the girl is wearing. Tunic-dress with the "X" and leggings instead of the usual tight spandex body-suit.
Why is Xavier (if that's Xavier) wearing Cerebro on his head like a helmet? Why is he dressed like that?
And what's up with Jean? That's Marvel GIRL, it's the costume of a teenage girl from 1963. Jean is a grown-ass woman! It doesn't compute. Each character seems like a version of themselves from a different era. Except Xavier--unless I'm missing something. Was there any story during Claremont's years where he wore an all-black costume?
Who are all the characters on the POWERS OF X cover? Upper left, Xavier and Moira. New character in the center with the sword. Nightcrawler to her right. Who are the other people on that cover?
We know next to nothing re what these two books are about.
If (as it seems from X-Men Monday's Q&A with Jordan White) they've put aside the 90's fetish stuff like Magneto's Brotherhood of "Evil" Mutants and Asteroid M, that's great news. A lot of us were posting about this for months, how there would be so many better places for Magneto to build an opposition team. Is he in the Savage Land in HOUSE OF X? That waterfall and those trees (reminds me of classic fantasy illustrators from the 1890s, early 1900s)--could that be the Savage Land?
I'm always worried about what's going to happen to the X-Men and Magneto. I can't decide if I should be worried or not about HoX and PoX.
"House of X" -- I just realized that's a riff on "House of M."
No matter what happens in the books this summer, you gotta hand it to the X-Office for the way they're dribbling out the tidbits of information and getting us hooked.

Jordan replying to talk about the kid possibly being Bishop and Jean’s kid.
Is everyone assuming that the characters on the cover of HoX are a team? Or is there an actual blurb about it from Marvel?
I love both covers but I would like to know a little more on Magneto´s part on this story because according to Jordan White Magneto is supposed to have a completely unexpected role and being an X-man is something he already has done:
Speaking of Magneto, we’ve got ourselves a question from MagnetoRocks (@MagnetoRocks) about, you guessed it, Magneto! Was there a specific goal when Magneto reverted to villainy at the end ofX-Men Blue, or was it just a status quo shift for other creators to pick up down the line?
Jordan: The plans for X-Men Blue were in place before I got into the X-Office. I think the plan there was just that that was how Cullen Bunn wanted to end his story. I know a lot of X-Men fans believed that I forced him to do that because I said I prefer Magneto as an antagonist, but… that is not the case. I am not in the business of being an X-Dictator, I work with the writers to tell the stories they want to tell. So, like I said, in this case, the plan for him to go back to “villainy” (so to speak) was already in place. But as for what that means for him going forward… well, you’ll have to see when he shows up after Age of X-Man. We’ve certainly got big plans for him, and I know pretty much no one expects them. And no, it’s not the thing you thought of when I said it was something no one expected, either. It’s even more unexpected than that.
I am also excited because it has been a long time since Jean, Scott and Logan were part of an X-men team at the same time, hope we can also see some of the rest of the X-men after Age of X.

JDW is too cruel
JDW is too cruel
We all knew that was a long shot. lol But I rarely agree with his opinions anyhow, so I am not too broken up. This is the same man who says stable relationships are boring, wants to de-age characters, and hates villains becoming allies & regresses character development for the sake of status quoing.

OK. So, Cyclops (in Bendis-era costume, but with his visor instead of the ridiculous X-face), Jean (in her Silver Age Marvel Girl costume), presumably Xavier with Cerebro/mini-Cerebra on his head, Magneto (also in Bendis-era costume), and Wolverine (in a modified version of his Byrne-designed brown and tan costume).

In the background, Xavier, Moira, and Nimrod. In the foreground, "Steel Magik" (Colossus's daughter?) and "Red-Crawler" (Kurt's son?) along with a bunch of new characters I don't recognize.
Both images include the flowering plant motif from the previously released poster, this time as portals characters are emerging from. Cross-time gateways of some sort, perhaps?
40 pages each...guess that means its coming with a 7.99 price tag.
Junior...ask your mother now for your lunch money so you can save enough for when this comes out.
Im not feeling the future (past?) second cover.
I hope it doesnt change history in such a way that I am disgusted that I still read this art form.

He is also completely against charactrs having kids. JDW is a more competent Didio. They want the characters static on the time

These Writers and Editors need to practice more decorum on Twitter. This is the only media where they feel the need to always attack and Troll fans.

Nah. Looks like a whole new class of cannon fodder.

Dave Meltzer "Plans Change."
JDW is too cruel
I think his tolerance for some has worn thin. I can understand his point. Certain Jean fans are always giving him a rough time (hint: I think they usually ship Scott and Jean). I spent time this morning arguing with some on twitter myself.
We can thank JDW for confirming that fact that Scott and Jean are no longer married. Granted, with this in mind he should have been prepared for trolling from some fans.
I am excited for Hickman's X-men and the previews give me Morrison vibes. I do not like that Jean is in an old costume and I don't understand why she would wear it. I hope there is a good reason for it and she gets a modern costume soon.

yeah, that is what I got from i: JDW is tired of shippers complaining to him. Specially baseless speculation.
This is the 2nd time he confirms the marriage isn't valid anymore;
I don't get the costume too, Scott and Magneto are from Bendis era, then 90s Wolverine and so 60s Jean?
So then he should just make comics for just him an his friends then. Without us this industry collapses(it already is)
man I can't wait for both of these books everytime Hickman gets on a title it's always enjoyable for me lol he really excels at grandiose statements and ideas. Even if the plot ins up a dumpster fire at least we know it'll be endlessly quotable.
Although from the description of House of X it seems right up Hickman's alley. Xavier has a plan to bring his dream into reality and in classic Hickman fashion it'll backfire spectacularly.
Power x that was more of a wild-card I feel like that's where Hickman's love for sci-fi is really going to flourish.
I look at it this way House of X=New Avengers. Power of X=Avengers.
Two seemingly unrelated narratives that eventually converge and complement each other.
The Cuckoos' new design is incredible, so momma sharing is great, too. I stan.
Esme is back... again? I don't think that's Emma.
She's standing behind him, but it still looks like too big a height difference to be Emma.
Can't believe nobody's joked about the kid being Idie.
Amazing, Jean, Cyclops and Wolverine alive and on the same team after almost 15 years. Hopeful they at least talk instead of ignoring everything and acting like nobody came from the death. They should all have lots to talk about.
I'm ready for Jean, Storm, Cyclops and Wolverine to be on a team together again. It's been too long.
I wonder if Hickman chose those 5 characters because the majority of X-Men history has basically revolved around them in some way.
As much as I like the idea of the Marvel Girl aesthetic, why the hell is Jean wearing the SAME EXACT Marvel Girl costume? She doesn't need to. She can and maybe should wear a more modern version of it, but the same exact thing is a mistake. Mainly because of the outdated gloves and mask.
Hickman writing Magneto in White? First day buy..
Put the one woman in a skirt again lol yeesh
Where’s Storm?
Could the bald woman in the corner be Cassandra Nova?
Still no sign on Sunspot, Rogue, Cannonball, Karma, Rachel, Banshee, or any of the students.
What's wrong with the one woman being in a skirt again?
i have no idea, suddenly women can't wear skirts anymore ......
What's wrong with the one woman being in a skirt again?
Catholic guilt, probably. People are flogging themselves for the dirty thoughts Jean's thick thighs caused in them.
Other than that, it's probably just the idea that the skirt sexualizes Jean and yadda yadda, so catholic guilt disguised as being progressive or whatever. Another recent development of horseshoe theory.
Put the one woman in a skirt again lol yeesh

Personally I think it's disgusting that ALL FOUR MEN are all chiseled like chipendales and wearing skin tight costumes not leaving much to the imagination again lol yeesh
The simplest explanation for the skirt is that Xavier is in charge and he is creepy with Jean
Maybe Jean enjoyed being in her old costume during Age of X-Man and decided to stick to it?
Maybe Jean enjoyed being in her old costume during Age of X-Man and decided to stick to it?
maybe it's summer and she just doesn't enjoy sweating pants
I'm disappointed Storm didn't make the cut in HoX #1.

being catholic has nothing to do with it, here in italy 90% people are catholic and there is no shortage of women wearing skimpy skirts, never heard people complaining or thinking they should be ashamed
Could the bald woman in the corner be Cassandra Nova?
I don't think so. She doesn't have Cassandra's features(eyebrows/larger than average head) and more than that, the costume and markings on her face are those of Karima Shapandar/Omega Sentinel.

Jean in the Marvel Girl garb is perplexing. Very dated, and I'm not sure why she'd choose to return to that look. So unless if it's a Jean from elsewhere in the timestream or something of that sort I can't see this making a lot of sense.

My third favourite Magneto look (surpassed by Age of X & Marvel Now!). I'm pretty glad he ditched the trunks. I must ask though, what does he keep in all the pouches? Seems he's taken styling tips from OG X-Force.

Loving Cyclops in blue. Not so much a fan of the head-condom as we endearingly call it. The recent fan design by Lukas Werneck far surpasses this.

I'm assuming that's Mr Xavier himself in the front, wearing a big ol Cerebro helmet on his head. Didn't he go to the lengths of making his new body all handsome-like? Why cover up that face then?

All for Logan in the tan uniform. Def my fav look of his.

With all the other big players here I'm almost surprised they're not joined by Ororo, Kurt or Hank.

The vegetation, which looks to have perhaps formed a portal here, is intriguing too. Could we perhaps be seeing Krakoa, Tabula Rasa or the Savage Land in play?

So Xavier, Moira and Nimrod are involved with future (?) X-Men? This one has more questions than answers.

Who is the girl in the center? And why is it that she seems to have metallic skin like Piotr, Illyana's soulsword, and pieces of Hisako's armor?

Furthermore, is the red man Nightcrawlerspawn? And what's in his satchel?

I'm clueless when it comes to the others
The Xavier Institute is still open then it seems. I'm not sure whether to be happy or upset about that. On one hand it's a cornerstone of X-History, but on the other it's holding some characters back. The new students look cool, which is one of the benefits of having a good artist on the book. No sign of anyone of those we know which is even more puzzling.
