Matthew Malloy arc was definitely one of the most terrible things written... but we also know that had a lot to do with editorial forcing Bendis to leave with #600 and him having to turn a 5 issue arc into a 10 issue arc as a result of that and then undoing the whole thing. Not sure what this run's excuse is.

Ummm, Scott needs redemption.
Everything can go to hel.

We'll never know until after Hickman.

Ditto for Iceman's constant bitch fits and Hank's... well... everything.
I’m not seeing enough hate for Kitty Pryde during all this, for my liking! She treated him like crap a lot, too. :p

There are definitely comparisons to be made between Bendis's Malloy story and Rosenberg's current Uncanny. I'm willing to bet history will be about as kind to this run as it is to Bendis's.

Bendis' Scott was pretty good for its time and absolutely off the charts compared to Rosenberg's version.
The worst part is that Rosenberg kind of writes Scott as someone who only sees his peers as soldiers, which is consistent only with, you guessed, Aaron's take. The "underdog" thing doesn't even work because Scott is just bashed from all sides, by Logan, by Alex, by Hope and now Dani and there's no nuance to the way he's written, he doesn't show any range of emotions, he's just taking it and letting it slide. And we're talking about a character who tried to kill himself fighting just 11 issues ago, but we're supposed to support whoever got to talk **** about him in the current issue LMAO

She wasn't Jason Aaron's personal mouth piece to express how EVIL and HORRIBLE and EVVVVVILLLLL Scott was. Those would be Bobby, Hank, and Ororo.
When your argument is "Scott Summers has not suffered as much as the others" then, uh ...
Who can be more fucked in that world? Matt Murdock, maybe?

Because she joined his side.
*Jean pops up and learns what happened with Scott and mutants*
Goddamn it Emma!

"Guy who can't stop self-loathing" is Bendis' specialty.
"Guy who can't stop self-loathing" is Bendis' specialty.
Which means Rosey took the worst aspects of Jason Aaron's run (all of it), and combined it with the worst aspects of Bendis's run. Charming.
"Guy who can't stop self-loathing" is Bendis' specialty.
His Daredevil is pretty much 50 issues of that.
No, she's saying that he should check his privilege because he hasn't lost as much/has more than her and others, so he should stop bumming around on a bench, in his underwear, feeding birds when he could be living that life, which is almost valid, except for
A. She's kinda vague about it and seems more interested in guilting him than helping him because she's pissed, which might be unintentional on the R's part
B. Emma might still have that awful haircut, so why would he go back to her
C. Havok agrees with her, the death knell of any argument
D. Scott's one true love, Hank, has been lost to the Nate hole
I like those first two pages, though.
Scott actually lost a son, a daughter (if you count Rachel) and every friend he had, plus his life (literally). But that's Rosenberg/JDW's X-men for ya: Scott HAS to be wrong for... reasons, but we'll never be specific because we know fans will refute any argument we present using logic and common sense.
Worth noticing that the last shred of hope I had for Rosenberg is gone with this because I didn't think they'd make Emma's plan the endgame. I thought they just wanted to erase the Earth's memory of mutants to catch a breath and THEN put the real plan in motion. I'm a fool.
Gotta say, though, that I agree with Snoop about the first two pages. Before it looks like mindless bashing from me.

He loves Hank's feet more than those guys. It's all explained in a story yet to be told.
This current period definitely makes it look a lot better by comparison.
If we miss Bendis' failed mutant revolution and Xavier's will then the current situation is really bad.
I hope House of X turns the table.
Which means Rosey took the worst aspects of Jason Aaron's run (all of it), and combined it with the worst aspects of Bendis's run. Charming.
But Bendis' Cyclops is one of the best aspects of his run.

That's Daredevil's very existence.

Scott is the one character that Bendis got close to 100% right, if you think about it. Can't say the same about literally anyone under Rosenberg's pen. And I really stopped to think about it while typing this.
Well, I was somewhat joking when I said Scott would get blame for something, but damn...

Bendis balanced it by having Scott being moody and depressed on his own time but a competent field leader, tactician, and planner. Rosey removed that latter part.
Which means Rosey took the worst aspects of Jason Aaron's run (all of it), and combined it with the worst aspects of Bendis's run. Charming.
You know who loves Aaron's work and Schism, and even worked on it; and still insists Scott was wrong? These boards favorite editor, of course. Surely a coincidence.

Remember Aaron saying Scott doesn't have enough self-doubt?
This is so stupid. It's like he's actively trying to make us hate Scott but I just hate this run more than anything.
Talk about not knowing a character, sheesh.
That's Daredevil's very existence.
Wich is why Matt was perfect for him, even with his Bendism
“It’s always the Scott and Jean story or Scott and Logan story, and the rest of us are jsut cannon fodder and supporting characters for your story” -says the writer who made this a Scott and Logan story while butchering the mutant metaphor and killing off so many mutants. Doing what is expected and then commenting on it isn’t subversive, Matthew.

It's like Rosenberg has never actually heard of Scott, Hope, Emma, Magik, or Alex and is just going on what Jason Aaron and Jordan White told him.
-You lost soldiers, I lost my brothers and sisters
- Do you remember when I started crying at my son's funeral after Second Coming?
-That does not count
-WHY?
-Because I do not want it to count.

You got the gist of it. Rosenberg thinks if he launches a meta-comment, he can be excused of doing anything.

I mean, i know that Scott isn't the friendliest X-Men, but Dani's speech is just so....weird, like how did you come to that conclusion?

Doing one thing wrong, pointing it out and thinking that that makes it something intelligent is Rosenberg's specialty.
Like Dazzler criticizing in Astonishing that there is only one woman in the team and that is sexist. If you know what it is ... WHY DO YOU DO IT?

It's actually going around the bush so much the bush vanished. His cliches have cliches. His tropes have tropes. HIS TROPES TROPES HAVE TROPES.
True Tropeception. Someone make sure the staff over at TVTropes is still breathing. This may have been too much to handle.

Right? It's like he's just writing to get to his end with no actual legit characters acting like themselves and just blame everything on Scott which makes no sense. Or the support cast line it's like this whole run was to take the piss out of scott.
X-continuity. I can find a scan of Cyclops willing to die for all humans and I can find one of him dumping Calibans corpse in the back.
During the Extinction era of Second coming there wasn't time to mourn. And Scott even said that you can tell at it him after he gets them through it.
Also this book was powered by democracy but I guess shes referring to the decision of reforming the X-Men
