I dunno, that body language was all over the place and then she ran away when he dropped the S-bomb. Might as well have captioned that moment "You only think of m... us as soldiers! You don't care! Just go back to your evil ex already! Waaahhh!"
In all seriousness, I'm basing that wild Xavier in psychic drag theory on that comment JDW made on Scott being judged for his actions rather than the stuff he did waaayyy back. Sure, it comes off as a total lie at face value, but surely the man would know better than to flat out lie like that, right? I'm thinking he shadow-spoiled the run's surprise ending by basically Scott was currently on trial. Not only that, but given how the past few issues have been hijacked/ruined by high-tier telepathy, Xavier being involved and being a total dick would be the logical next step.
Well some of the events are really weird, like when Jono died. that was Comical. Things scalating too fast

Well X-Men is stated by the editor to be a Soap. Do shipping will be a big part of things, especially when a ship can make or break individual characters.

And given that "Soaps" are in and of themselves dated and cliche, I think it's best they not try to copy that genre going forward. It worked back in the 80's because of Dynasty, Dallas, DoOL and TYatR but...they (editors and writers alike) need to stop with all that 'incestuous' relationship/family/love triangle nonsense.
Or, at the very least, severely cut back on it.
Thankfully, from what I've read of HiX-Man, his love-plots do not really take the lead as to where stories and characters go. They're more like sub-sub-plots.

Well we have Hickman speaking of mutant orgies and JDW talking about Hickman redefining X-Men Style love.

So we may be getting even more frisky in the future.
Then again, orgies and polyamory would drastically reduce shipping wars. Everyone would be getting a bit of something.
Of course this could be a troll. But who knows.
'incestuous' relationship
Eww, when has that happened?
Eww, when was that happened?
It's the term when you have a close set of people who consider each other family, but also openly date within group. Not technically true incest.
-
Soap operas are known to pull that Skywalker incest twist, world round.
I agree with Devaishwarya, it's the icing on X-men and certainly not the main attraction, and it's dated and stale. And incestuous in the sense that you have a limited pool of characters cycling through romances randomly mixing and matching for decades.
-
I just meant incestuous in essence...They're like one big extended family so other than the Scott and Jean relationship which was pre-established I personally see everyone else as brothers and sisters and first cousins. (I know that's just me.) That's why I never ever bother with any "Shipping" as I don't find them written to be very interesting.
I don't mind at all when they date outside of the franchise as with Storm and T'Challa but Nightcrawler should not be hooking up with Rachel.
And definitely what Four4elements says. :)

Actually, you just raised another good point, romance in Xmen books isnt particularly well written or compelling. At moments when I do find it interesting, it's more just from the combination of two unlikely personalities like Scott and Emma.
Wouldnt recommend any Marvel writers transition into romance novels.

I literally only read comicbooks for the shipping.

I'm a shipper but when love drama becomes the most important thing I start to get bored. Sure that topic has its place but it shouldn't derail other stories.
