I feel like Clark, who was an adopted child, wouldn't lie to his kids about them being adopted. Lie to them about being a different species than their mother sure, and lie about what he does in his spare time, absolutely. But adoption is probably one thing he'd be straight about.
There are theories that Jordan might be Zod's son and Clark and Lois just adopted him,
I don't know if making the adopted son the troubled one who may go evil is the right message for a Superman project.

I don't think it's gonna happen either. Just answering a question.

I feel like if one of the kids was secretly a full-blooded Kryptonian there wouldn't be any lingering "might they end up inheriting powers?" questions, so nah.
Anyway, if one of them were not their biological kid, I'd rather it be Jon (the "easy" kid that no one doubts is their parents' son) than Jor (the "problem" child that we're already theorizing may be the child of a supervillain).
But so far nothing at all indicates they're not exactly what we've been told they are.
Yeah, that would indeed be a nice twist on the trope or a way to "subvert expectations" which actually works rather than feeling like a cheap trick.
I don't think it's gonna happen either. Just answering a question.
Oh I totally understand, but I still feel uneasy because that seems like a very DC twist.

I imagine Jon won't and Jordan will, thus making his arc about losing his cynicism and growing into a more traditional Superman role/mindset.
It seems the easiest path to go.

I predict that only one of them will have powers for the first season (if you've read the leaked script, you know which one it is) and whether or not the other one does will be a cliffhanger for next season. And they can only "trigger" it under stress.

Trigger it under stress? So like, he can get a papercut, but if he hears a ticking bomb his skin becomes invulnerable? That's kinda hilarious.

That was more or less how it functioned in the comics early Rebirth with Damian even theorizing that his powers grew and shrank based on his emotional state, so that makes sense.
It would allow the said character (by now the worst kept secret who it is) to have to use their non Kryptonian physicality that they've taken as a given up till this point a bit more, and really appreciate whatever form of power he'll be given.
All in service of his character arc.

He(jon) fell from a branch on a tree and got injured.Yet, was able to tank laser beams for the teen titans.

I don't think Jordan will turn evil either. That feels wrong. I just don't take at face value everything a showrunner says about the show and the story. They have to keep some secrets and reveal them the later.
I'm just saying I won't be too surprised if things don't turn out the way we expect.
It seems the show is doing something right because we are intrigued about the new characters.
Bringing the family back to Smallville means that Hoechlin has an opportunity to explore more facets of the character. There’s a long-running debate among Superman fans and creators about which of Superman’s identities is the “real” persona. Is he really Clark Kent, and Superman is a put-on for the world? Or does Superman represent his true nature, and it’s Clark Kent who’s an act? To hear Hoechlin tell it, it’s far more complicated than that.
“There is Superman at the most extreme, when no one knows him as anything other than [a hero],” Hoechlin says of his approach to the character. “There’s Superman when he’s around people who are aware that he’s more than just Superman. There’s the Clark that everyone knows is Superman, but he’s still kind of ‘playing Clark.’ There’s also the extreme Clark where you would only ever think that he’s the clumsy guy in the office and that’s all he is.”
But the truth of the character lies somewhere else entirely for the actor, and it’s the one that lends itself well to a story of Clark living a family-oriented life when he’s not flying around saving the world.
“And then there’s this guy in the center,” Hoechlin says. “I don’t really think that there’s a right answer in saying that ‘he is Superman’ or ‘he is Clark.’”
Taken from the Den of Geek interview. Forgot to point this out, but this will be the first outside media Superman project that goes with the “third option” in regards to the Clark vs. Superman dichotomy. Really hopeful that they’ll nail that because I think it’s a characterization that really enriches Clark’s interactions with others in and out of costume.

I just realized Jordan name starts like Jor El. I like that. Wonder if it was intentional or a coincidence.

I believe they said they named both boys after Clark's fathers, in the case of Jordan, something skin to Jor.
