If the Dawn of X relaunch has an X-Men/Spider-Man crossover, what should it be?

I was kind of thinking about this due to the DoX relaunch having an X-Men/Fantastic Four crossover mini. What if there's one for Spider-Man? It makes sense -- two of Marvel's biggest cash cows in a crossover with a new status quo. I asked here instead of the X-board because I feel like I'll get a better response from Spider-fans, but I might ask there later too.

Let me know your ideas and we can discuss.

One idea I had is that Spider-Man can be a guest teacher at school in Krakoa. Non-mutants can enter with permission and maybe he can substitute for someone he's friends with as "Mr. Spider-Man". Seeing how Spidey reacts to the mutant paradise would be part of the appeal, as would him playing off all the mutants. There would probably be some kind of mission that forces Spidey to team up with a team of X-Men, because obviously.

What would be your ideas?

The Empire State University lab headed by Dr. Curt Connors gets to study one of the Krakoan flowers offered to humanity, and since Peter Parker is currently working as a teaching assistant for Connors while retaking his doctorate studies, he gets to help research the Krakoan flower while pondering what this could mean for the world, as well as navigating a web of rather quite complex emotions regarding the X-Men's new worldview and position in said world. Of course, it becomes a problem when someone in the ESU lab, or someone higher up the proverbial food chain, starts making plans to weaponize or reverse-engineer the Krakoan flower to use against mutants, which brings a contingent of X-Men to ESU to take back the plant and/or eliminate the person behind that plan, which also brings Spider-Man into that confrontation.

The X-Men then try to persuade Spider-Man to get or stay out of their way, as they've appreciated his friendship over the years and would regret seeing him as an enemy, while Spider-Man argues back at them concerning their new worldview and if "giving up on humanity" is the right thing to do. As this debate is happening, someone tries to either get the Krakoan plant or take an opportunistic shot at one of the X-Men, which just makes everything go from bad to worse, putting Spider-Man in the position of having to choose who he's going to protect, the human who attempted to kill one of the X-Men out of hate and fear, or the X-Men who broke into the ESU lab themselves looking to neutralize what they saw as a threat. Basically, it's a "Which side are you on, boy? Which side are you on?" moment for Spidey.

I would like to see Spidey put in a position where his friendship with the X-Men would be severely tested in a story involving the two entities taking on an organization such as the Life Foundation/Alchemax/Roxxon, who are later revealed to be working or part of Orchis that wish to take a sample of the Krakoan flower for further study. Add the fact that much tech from Parker Industries and OSCORP are being used by Orchis, making the issue more personal for Peter. Along the way, let Spider-Man have some character driven moments with the 05 X-Men (throw in Logan and Rachel for good measure) and have Peter's sense of morality conflict with the X-Men's regarding how humans, including some of Spidey's "friends" are contributing to the problems mutants have and continue to face.

At the end of the book, Peter decides to become more active in supporting and fighting for mutant rights, all while renouncing the use of his tech by Orchis and his refusal to cooperate with any government regarding harming mutants while calling out his fellow heroes for their complicity. All of which will lead to Spidey re-establishing his tight friendship with the X-Men and putting him at major odds with the other heroes of the MU, namely the Avengers.

One thing I'd like to point out is that Spidey was briefly a teacher for the X-Men, in that Spider-Man & X-Men comic, perhaps that could be used as a reason why they'd consider reaching out to Spidey, seeing him as trustworthy, would help if Iceman, Firestar and Wolverine vouched for him too, hell, it was Wolverine who called him to be a teacher that one time.

Not really, considering that it would draw on Spidey's fighting for a sector of people that hate and/or fear him due to corrupt media (Jameson), which would coincide with the X-Men's MO, but the X-Men's issues are on a MUCH grander scale.

It's not because Spidey understands to a certain extent what they go through that he'd start to agree with them, or think like them, he's not one to start considering that humanity isn't worth fighting for, because again, the times he gave up were because he couldn't put up with how shitty being Spider-Man makes his life, and he could just as easily give up because he thinks humanity sucks, he certainly would have more than enough reason for that, but he just doesn't, and that shows the kind of character he is, an ultimately optmistic guy with occasional pessimistic thoughts.

Honestly, the only way he'd start to agree with them is if he actually saw what humanity does in the future, basically seeing Moira's many lives, and even then, it'd be like Xavier, as we see in Moira's diary that it took a long time to convince him, probably years.

Like this, it sounds awful, the only parts that don't are Peter getting his tech back and getting more one on one time with Cyclops.
The rest? Just flat out horrible.

Yeah I can't see Peter ever questioning if humanity is worth defending. Reminds me of Superman in MoS, just severely out of character imo

My thoughts:
-Norman or some other villain is a contributor to Orchid and Spidey gets involved in a plot to bust him with some of the X-Men
-Or on the contrary, I'd like something like HoX #1 with Reed and Scott where there is some friction between him and some X-Men over something and they have a small conflict (nothing major tho!)

Thanks. I especially like Peter hanging out with Cyclops, because they have a surprising lot in common once you get past their surfaces. Both of them were orphaned at young ages, both were outcasts before and after becoming heroes, both attempted to hold themselves to the moral standards set by their father figures and held themselves responsible for the deaths of said father figures (Peter's due to selfish inaction on his part, Scott's due to being possessed and driven insane by the Phoenix), both covered their angst behind facades (Peter's being the quipping jokester and Scott's being "The Fearless Leader of the X-Men"), both had to deal with a madman obsessed with their DNA, and both had a redhead (Mary Jane Watson and Jean Grey) and a blonde (Gwen Stacy and Emma Frost) as their two most iconic love interests while also attracting a lot of female attention in spite of themselves.

I am wondering why Juggernaut would join Orchis, though, because he was fighting [I]for[/I] mutantkind in the last X-Men run. Also, I'd love to see Mary Jane and Emma Frost interact, since they have some similarities, too. Mainly, they're frequently harshly judged and dismissed out of negative reaction by a certain contingent of fans (and industry professionals) to their visual appeal, as well as in comparison to supposedly "purer" or more sainted love interests like Gwen and Jean. Probably an outgrowth of the unfortunate tendency by too many to divide women in real life and female characters in fiction into a binary of "innocent, pure maiden" vs. "wanton, depraved harlot" and coming down viciously on those they judge to fall in the latter category.

Three possible Miles stories:

He meets the Five, including his old friend Fabio Medina (who was in Bendis's ANAD era Spider-Man run). Ends up laughing at his new Egg codename but feeling proud that his friend has found a calling.

He meets up with Cyclops, where they can reminisce over his Champions tenure. Miles wasn't there when Scott reunited with Kamala. I'd include Dust in this one, since she later joined the team and probably hasn't heard about the team's early adventures and antics.

He reunites with Jean Grey, who has known his secret identity since before he even moved to 616, thanks to a team up in Bendis's All-New X-Men. She can help him with his issues regarding his memory of the Ultimate Universe, as he's currently struggling with that.

Honestly, going for "blondes love interest" is odd, 'cause technically Emma has more in common with Felicia.

Including how much Marvel fucked them over and turned them into villains who had barely anything of their personality :p.

Also another silly thing Spidey and Cyke have in common is a sudden secret sibling, maybe Cyke could tell him how to deal with that :p

Not saying it isn't impossible mind you, but the way I see it, Miles would need some convincing first.

In Jason Aaron's Thor 2018 he showed up as a bad guy and I think Hickman has wiped the slate clean for the X-Men for the most part.

Well somewhat, although I wouldn't say Scott-Jean-Emma is in any sense comparable to Peter-Gwen-MJ. Or that Jean Grey is the 'Gwen'.
