Her current look is the best one in a long time, i love her lockes, the color scheme is cute too.
I LOVE Storm's Current Look as well.
Her costume reminds me of her X-Treme X-Men custom along with her Wakandan one meshed together.
IMO Storm acts like her Punk Rock attitude and I LOVE it.

Giant-Size X-Men #1 was created by Len Wein and Dave Cockrum. They created Storm and imagined her as an eternally 16 year old goddess, as ancient as time. Len Wein became line editor right after this was released, so he passed the project off to then basically intern-Chris Claremont, who went on to define that team into the greatest comic book superheroes of all time. I think the issue is certainly of it's time(while also being extremely progressive for those times), and the plot and story are relatively straightforward, but I think the vignettes introducing the new X-Men are excellent and do a great job of presenting varied responses to mutants all around the world. I love it and hope it's used as the basis for the MCU X-Men.

Ah OK! I totally misremembered this. I loved GSXM#1! So this will be AMAZING! For some reason I thought it was going to a retelling of God Loves Man Kills. I didn’t much care for that story. GSXM as the basis for an MCU movie would be amazing! But I am greedy. That movie would need to be at least 3.5 hrs long to do the characters justice.

They are also re-releasing GLMK with some extra story by Claremont sometime soon. I like the original story as it is. Even though Storm was barely in it, it was the first time Magneto worked with the team, and it was dark and gritty in a way X-Men hadn't quite been before.
I'm here for an epic MCU movie. I will sit the whole time!

Goddess I want that story on the big screen one day! Ororo picking the locks with her mouth is the coolest/sexiest/saddest(when Nanny came in and she had to do it all over again) scene ever!

another review that concludes some of the imagery we saw in giant size was tying to her relationship to tchalla:
https://screenrant.com/xmen-storm-black-panther-comic/
they described the terrain as wakandan ancestral plains as well. guess since they also concluded this terrain, including the baobab tree, is wakandan inspired they are not interested in African lore, literate and well-read.

that would be cute. that was a good story. I would like seeing giant size on the big screen.
I was reading that a full xmen movie is a couple of phases away so it seems marvel is going to take a slow drip approach to introducing the xmen.
-
The wait alone for an X-Men movie is like ugh.
When ever they confirm Rouge to be in MsMarvel2
And Wolver&Hulk Movie.
But even than that's seem to be stretching/delaying an actual X film.
And who's to say Storm will be the first film.
I actually wonder when and where Storm will debut .

I was re-reading some Xtreme X-men and came across my collection of Storm the Arena. I wanted to see what we think of this story? Also what do we think of the possibility that Storm was a sex worker in this story? Does this add to her story or is this something we collectively want to forget?
I recall the rage when the story came out. It had a lot of negative reviews on this forum and others at the time. I just wanted to see what we think of it now. Has our view of this story changed?

I liked and enjoyed The Arena story-line. Storm was not a sex-worker...she was undercover. Two entirely different scenarios.

It was ok. Definitely one of the weakest arcs in XXM. I would probably give it a 5. Claremont was completely uninhibited and his fetishes were on blatant display but I didn't completely hate it. But I am sick of Storm and her association with the Morlocks so having Masque and tentacle Callosto involved already had me already coming in with a sour disposition towards the story.
Kordey's art was better and probably was a "good" match for the outrageousness of the story, but I still found it a bit ghastly. That didn't help with my liking of the story. All in all, Claremont has done better with the character.

LOL there's a Marvel Character named "Weather Witch"???? TF???!!
Anyway, DUH. I've been arguing this point for YEARS NOW. Thor can not control the Weather. He can't even make it snow or control temperature by himself. LOL
And sense WHEN did Jean Grey, Nathaniel Grey and Brother Voodoo control the Weather??? LIES.....

I'm surprised magneto wasnt on the list as he actually has controlled the weather. I've never seen jean do that.
and yes weather witch is of asian descent I believe lol.
and I thought thor COULD control the weather he just uses his hammer to focus his abilities.

MORE LIES.
I've only seen Magneto control 1 aspect of Weather 1 time and never again.
Weather Witch huh? Hmm What can she do? Give me Feats I need receipts. CBR said her powers are like Storm's I need proof and how.
I can list a WHOLE bunch things Thor CAN'T do WITH and WITHOUT his hammer in regards of controlling the Weather. The very fact that Thor can't control Temperature(Which is by the way a LARGE portion of Weather Phenomenon) really says something about is he really that good at controlling weather at all.

magneto at least has a weather controlling feat. jean doesnt - from my knowledge - so he should have least been mentioned.
I've never actually read any books with weather witch. I just remember hearing of her years ago and I thought it was a poor attempt of copying storm, as you know she was the first to be called weather witch.
I never knew he couldnt control temperature. what can he do without his hammer?

I would list people who's powers ARE Weather Control. But whatever.
I'll do the research on her. After reading about Aero whom people call her "Wind Rider" i'm not surprised.
A LONG LONG time ago. I had a long argument about Thor vs Storm who is better at Weather Control. Because I didn't have that much knowledge on Thor I wasn't too sure what he could do.
SO after that, I decided to do some EXTENSIVE research on what Thor can do in regards of controlling weather. Becuase Thor fans and other People strongly believe that Thor is the BEST at Controlling the Weather. So, I had to test it out and compare Feats between what Thor can do and what Storm can do. And boy when I say Pathetic...............IT'S PATHETIC.
Thor Without the Hammer can(your going to laugh):
-Make it Rain
-Summon Lightning
-Summon Thunderstorms
-Because he's a God he made it (This was 1 Time only and he never did it again) rain Acid or Fire I don't remember.
-Summon Cosmic Winds basically Solar Winds really.....
Thor With his Hammer(your still going to laugh):
-Can create Thunderstorms
-Manipulate EM spectrum to a small degree
-Create Tornadoes
-Shoot Lighting/Summon Lightning
-Cause Earthquakes
The only difference between Thor and Storm is that Thor is FAR more Destructive with his powers than Storm. That's REALLY the ONLY reason they are apart, but other than That Storm outclasses him. That is a Fact. Don't believe me go search it up.

Nate Grey generated a rainstorm once, I know Phoenix Jean could control the weather (even absorb lightning bolts) and weather witch literally appeared for like .. two issues to my knowledge and all I remember was a rainstorm and a few lightning bolts lmfao

Truthfully, the only person I put above Storm here is Gaea.
I'm sure some Thor fans are out there outraged at this list putting Storm above Thor when it comes to weather manipulation. Poor Hurricane didn't even make the list. LOL
Also, if we're pulling one-time controlling weather feats out of our ass, then Meggan, Shaman and Iceman should be on the list.

I dont think that weather b!tch character has any noteworthy feats. but if you find any please share.
and seriously, what is up with these writers using monikers associated with storm? like it's not creative in the least.
so wait, thor without hammer can create solar winds but cannot create tornadoes? that doesnt really make sense to me. and what do you mean hes more destructive? couldnt her storms be as easily destructive if she didnt care about hurting innocent people?

I believe in short Ororo is the goddess of order (one who preserves the balance of all natural things). She would be the opposite of what Adversary represents which is a chaos. Interestingly enough I was looking up the equivalent of this god in African mythology and this happens to be Maat. Maybe Ororo is a direct descendant of Maat that Coates will one day explore .

I think the majority of Thor controlling the weather feats have been with Mjlonir. So we really don't know the extent of his weather powers without his hammer.
I'm assuming when he says Thor's weather powers are more destructive. He means Thor doesn't have any fineness with his abilities, it's an all or nothing kind of thing. Sledgehammer (Thor) Vs. Surgeon Scalpel (Storm)...for example.
I remember a Thor fan could only find one pic of Thor using his powers in a non-destructive way...he used winds to carry the Quinjet.
