I think he was just saying how powerful both Forge and Storm untapped spiritual powers were. He also went on to say them being humans didn't make them a threat they should have been
As we get into Black Panther Storm unlocked those Spiritual powers and became a god. Her body wasn't limited before according to the databook she has immeasurable stats along with other abilities
So Adversary knew of her untapped powers and quickly took her down fast
Back to Black Panther in more depth.. Adversary actually went under the name of Sefako the Twice-Risen God. Remember when he created that sentient storm that Ororo had to stop? He also opening the portals for the originals and more. Storm, BP, and others had to defeat.
Not only that he had a vessel working for him getting him more followers to that faith can increase his power.
So put all this together Adversary struck her down fast in Black Panther

I was watching the 1973 vampire film Ganja and Hess, and I was introduced to the actress Marlene Clark. She's absolutely stunning. I kept starring at her because she looked so familiar. Then I realized, she looks almost exactly like Dave Cockrum's rendition of Storm. The resemblance is pretty unmistakable. Maybe I'm just late, but that can't be a coincidence, can it?

Somewhat back on topic;
Upon her inevitable ascension, how does one venerate the Storm Goddess? What goes on her alter? Rubies? Switchblades?
I guess the overall question I'm asking is what items do you associate the most with Storm and her story?

Lock-picks!
I was pointing out the scan also had another meaning than what you used it for.
It shows Roma is capable of reality/time warping on a reality scale.
You see Storm requested for them to return to their original timeline but have Roma manipulate to think the X-men are still gone.
Please don't use Grand Design as canon. It is not 616 canon. It is its own thing. Use Claremont/Silvestri's original version only.

but he said this?
“This cover represents the first graphic idea I had when considering this X-Men project. You can say that it was all building to this moment,” Piskor told SYFY WIRE. “The material covered in the pages of X-Tinction are the X-Men comics that are nearest and dearest to my heart (Marc Silvestri, Jim Lee era) but they are not infallible comics and lend well to a fair bit of retooling. When constructing the book I even found the perfect way to get X-Men: Grand Design to fit into the greater canon of X-Men lore. Stay tuned.”

He can say whatever he wants. Claremont's run is Claremont's run. Piskor's mess is his mess. They are not the same. His is not canon.

This is discussion carried over from the Cyclops thread. Do people here think that Storm is the most respected leader on Krakoa? I said so and people there disagreed with me. I think in the absence of Scott, Storm would the most logical choice to take over as Captain Commander as I feel she has the experience is respected by most
-
Absolutely.
And not even "in the absence of Scott". She is a respected leader/mutant on Krakoa, period. Her place on the Quiet Council as well as her presence at the Arbor Magna ceremonies, especially, attest to her respectability.
-
I mean, Storm has whupped Mystique, Shaw, Emma, Apocalypse, Magneto, Sinister, and maybe even Exodus(off screen in that Carey/Bachelo issue?)'s butts before, and is super close with Xavier, Jean, and Kurt, so in a way, she would be the most respected leader on Krakoa, but I don't think the narrative has displayed that at all recently. She should be, she certainly could be, but she really hasn't been that kind of leader since Claremont's X-Treme/XSE era.

The most respected leader? I dont think anyone can definitively say; however, this demonstrates that she is respected by those on Krakoa:

I would probably say Xavier is the most respected leader as it was his vision and dream that resulted in the creation of Krakoa as a mutant nation.

I guess I should clarify, its field leader as the topic was brought up in relation to the Commander role. Xavier's never been much of a leader on the field.

I would say her diadem would be her symbol used to venerate her.

oh I misunderstood. I would say yes. I mean she led the xmen into battle many of times without her powers and the team prevailed. I dont think cyclops as respected as he is can say that.

Yes. I would wager people would follow Storm into Battle than they would Scott.

It's never a competition but...Yes, she is. In her own right.
Both among the many field leaders (of different teams) and field leader of the X-Men premier team. This is indisputable. Her long-standing role as a top tier X-Man and her experience speak to just how much respect she garners.
I disagree with Yogababe, though. I do think she's being written respectably enough...is it Claremont-level attention where she's the point of focus of the story-arcs, doing great and wondrous feats and having character development? No. (at least not yet...GSXM:Storm is coming up) But HiX-Man is not Claremont and she can't be, in this instance, because the focal point of HiX-Man's X-Men is Krakoa. ALL of Krakoa...not just one or a few mutants living on Krakoa.
With Marauders, specifically Gerry Duggan's focal point is Kate Pryde. As with any and every x-writer, that's his choice...and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

The rational for the opposition is that alot of villians respect Scott more like Sinister, Apocalypse and Exodus but my thought was that alot of X-men dont like or respect Scott so it kind of evens out.

What makes you say/believe that a lot of X-men don't like or respect Scott? Not that one is indicative of the other.

Damn, people always got a problem with Storm.
Let the WOMAN be

We had a whole era where that was a thing. Even after he was brought back, there was still some tension adn signs of that with some. I do think that the bulk of the X-men if polled, would view Storm more favorably

Hmmm.
I can see how certain decisions Scott made as X-Leader would not find favour with some (the Maddie, Xavier incidents) but the same can be said of Storm (the Callisto, Marrow incidents) for obviously different reasons.
And while both have had instances where their leadership has been considered "questionable", each having his and her own "cross to bear", it does not mean that neither isn't worthy of respect or is highly respected by their peers. Far from it.
I would say regardless of what has transpired in the past...as it stands now, on Krakoa, both are highly respected and yes, liked ( I would say even loved) and appreciated for what they've brought to Krakoa's table and what they mean to Mutants in general.

For some reason, I dislike how Storm calls them all brothers and sisters. It feels a bit too Brotherhood type of vibe than X-Men one.

She's been calling the X-men her brothers and sisters since the Claremont days

I just see it as her trying to emphasize the whole idea they are all family and connected. it makes for a more unified nation.

Maybe?!? Offscreen?!? You know that doesn't count :p

storm beat exodus???? I want some receipts.
she was the only Xman that was able to hurt X-Legion so it's not a shock to me. She is the heavy hitting cannon of the xmen.
-
Yeah, I wanna see the receipts too.
I don’t have that recorded in my Vault of Feats.

Exodus is pretty powerful. He restrained the powerful characters on the bottom left and deflected and attacked the other powerful mutants including Storm in Blood Ties

I still think that they are depowering her a lot. Beat me, but as far as I am aware, weather phenomena are much more destructive than what we've seen and even in the TAS series they still depowered her. If you ask me, if she can generate one billion of electricity jolts, most of those powerful characters will have a hole in their bodies than anything else, having in mind that lightning can cut and melt straight through steel like a heated knife through butter.
EDIT: Actually scratch that (the above), I've seen it properly used only on one individual. X-Man. Storm was the only one powerful enough to tear through his very essence and separate them, now this is what a bolt of real lightning should cause as damage, just I don't think they keep depict it, well.

Oh yes. Weather Phenomenon is NO JOKE. Getting Hit by Lightning F*%# Hurts. I pray to God I don’t get hit by it. Lol But getting hit by energy that’s hotter than the Surface if the Sun SHOULD put any Hole into anyone(if you don’t have a Healing Factor).
As for Wind can shatter your Bones with enough force. And Water with enough speed and force can cut you in Half. Look at Avatar the Lost Airbender LOL. I don’t think Storm gets de powered, but is Holding back Way to Often.

let's not forget ot was legion and xman. both of these characters (two omegas) were merged and it was storm's powers alone that was powerful enough to hurt them enough for them to be separated.

Recently I looked at the Storm respect thread on comicvine and I was like dang, Storm is so powerful. She probably doesn't even need a team. She is so compelling and her powers are so versatile that Storm should have a solo series. I know X-men solos do not do so well, but Storm probably should have had a book centered around her like both Kitty and Jean did recently (in X-men Gold and Red respectively).
I'm looking forward to the upcoming Storm Giant Sized issue. I hope Hickman and Co. has some good plans for Storm.

True that. And note that her Magic Potential isn't even tapped into yet. Neither her Godhood, they poked around with it, but that was it. I do look forward to seeing what she will do in her solo.

Welcome, Brotha!!! Welcome.

Storm is so powerful that literally her flaw to make her an all around character is having no defense.
But we call know that each energy Storm controls can make a shield so put it all together.

I believe this is gonna be the issue where Storm transcends her human limitation in evolve into a pure element like Iceman or Jean Grey.
That being said I wonder why Emma's diamond form isn't omega or is it because of people like Husk and Colossus?

Now that, I want to see. It is about time they do something about her human limitations but let's hope she can fully control it and switch between the forms on demand. But I believe Hickman has high plans for Storm since officially introduced her as an Omega before on the very first issue when he grabbed the storyline. Which means that we will definitely see something amazing of her when he gets to her solos.
