I can work with that. Looks average length but thick (were it counts), if him. Who am I kidding I would be so excited I would probably burst 10 minutes into it.
It's funny cause he considers himself small.
To keep it Storm related. Do you think Storm and Cap would make a good couple?

I feel uncomfortable talking about the pictures at all, given that they were leaked. If they were a woman’s nudes, would we be so eager to discuss (or see discussed) her body?
I wonder how those three countries in particular came to be in dealings with Wakanda? Seems odd they would need to do anything through wakanda honestly.
With this being a Sword of X event I doubt it will be a discussion relating to not wanting to accept krakoan drugs and something regarding the sword shown in the preview. But i wouldn't mind the things you mentioned being explored.
There are some probably some unintentional deep cuts for those countries. But with Hickman he may have researched it. Kenya obviously is through Storms' influence.
Cannan was taken over by Moses Magnum is Deathlok in the 90s and as of Civil War, he was still in control. So he might have worked out something with Tchalla.
Azania is supposed to be a South Africa apartheid analogue, from which Ezekiel Stain launched his final assault from, and Tchalla fought their racist meta human team in the 90s. But they never say if the government changed or not.
Until they clarify, I assume Wakanda just provides soft power probably like China's Belt and Road Initiative.

Yes Kenya definitely is related to Ororo but since it is a sovereign nation I dont get why wakanda would have any say in their dealings with krakoa. This is true for all the other nations too. Maybe this issue of Marauders will explain dome of this but i seriously doubt it. But from what i gathered from your post wakanda doesn not have in canon dealings with these nations when it comes to economic dealings right?
I feel uncomfortable talking about the pictures at all, given that they were leaked. If they were a woman’s nudes, would we be so eager to discuss (or see discussed) her body?
I think the general population of people would naturally find interest in talking about these things whether woman or male because of the celebrity factor, regardless if they were leaked or not. People talked about Kim Kardashian sex tape years ago and from that incident there have been a slew of celebrities (both men and women celebrities) who have had nudes dropped online who broke the internet including Chris brown, Justin Beiber, Jennifer Lawrence etc. Even prior to this Janet and the nipple scandal or Madonna and all her antics. Beyond even this celebrity pin ups (both make and female) was a thing dating back to the 50s/60s. So this has been a thing for a while that gets discussed whether or not you are a woman and despite if it's leaked or not.
Nevertheless, even though I didn't bring up this topic and considering your concern with discussing it to bring this back to Ororo I was thinking how she would respond to her nudes leaking but our gurl had always been comfortable in her skin and this would probably not phase her in the least:

Nothing that has appeared on panel, but Wakanda has businessmen who operate outside of the country and at least one publicaly traded company. So they probably has some things going on.

yea i would be curious what type of dealings these nations would make where their own governments could not decide whether or not to have relationships with other nations recognized by the UN. does wakanda have this same type of pull with nations outside of krakoa?

I'm more curious to see if Tchalls will be there. The Queen mother is receiving Storm. They might be pushing Tchallas return from the Empire further out of the time line since Coates' book has been delayed.

tchalla will definitely be there. the artist released an image from this issue im assuming of tchalla looking sad when chadwick passed. im curious as to why he would be looking sad in the issue and I hope it doesn't hsve anything to do with ororo or their relationship

Is Magnum still in control of Canaan? Last time we saw him in the Storm and Shuri ongoings I don't remember any references to him being a world leader. I think that he's gone back to being a global arms developer in the underworld.
Azania I'm pretty sure reformed. I think they've had the occasional upswing in violence every now and then but they implemented majority rule in the 90s or at least were on the way to doing so. I think that was in Night Thrasher or something like that.
And yea I think they're economic protectorates that Wakanda is just heavily investing in for infrastructure and trade. So I think it makes sense that if these countries are getting access to Wakandan tech/markets they'll do whatever Wakanda does and reject the drugs. That might even have been a part of the requirements because prior to Hickman there was no indication these countries answered to Wakanda.
It does make you wonder why Wakanda accepted them though as it does seem out of character. They could be trying to grow their markets and have a big enough population base to insulate themselves from the mutant-controlled world economy.

exactly. wakanda I thought was more of an isolationist idesls when it comes to governing so what happened to change this unless they were looking to build allies but this even seems off to me.
Is Storm wearing white in the previews because she's newly resurrected?

To be fair, T'Challa himself isn't an isolationist so maybe this was his idea. I think that it's about building allies. He's probably smart enough to realize that accepting the Krakoan drugs is giving foreigners leverage over the Wakandan economy so he's shifting Wakandan economic assets towards neighboring countries that also haven't been infiltrated by mutants. Hence why they're economic protectorates and not political ones. He's creating a singular East African market that isn't reliant on Krakoa.

I know people are raving about it but I dont like the white variation. She looks so much better in black
Going by the XMM article at AiPT, specifically Vita's obvious interest in Storm...I wonder if they will have a direct hand in where Storm's big story/development goes in 2021.

I agree. If she wore her hair up or her hair was a color other than white, then the white wouldn't be a bad idea. But, for me, white hair falling onto a white top doesn't help set off either her hair or the costume.

I didnt realize why but you explained it. There's not enough contrast despite them making it a slightly different shade of white. Its why I hate Polaris in all green costumes. It clashes with the hair
If the costume is the same colour as the hair it's matching not clashing.
Surprisingly that was my main issue with the 90's costume, which I vehemently loathe...that and it covered her up from her neck to her toes.
I love this white costume here because the black accents/details break up the white (which the gold/yellow never did in the 90's look) making it more striking. And it shows more skin. I do want to see her wearing it without the cape, more often, though.

That was my first thought when I saw the white uniform. It also doesn't help that, in the recent images, her hair is drawn straight and limp. Giving it some body would help create a nice contrast. I guess we'll find out the reason for the change.

Marvel Marauders #13 X of Swords Comic Book [Randolph Hells Storm Horror Variant]
Looking at that variant...I always thought it would have been nice if we got a Magic-wielding Storm from another time-line/AU similar to how we ended up with Bloodstorm.
What If...? Ororo inherited and followed her magical lineage instead of weather manipulation.

What If her weather manipulation were magical spells instead of mutant powers
What If her weather manipulation were magical spells instead of mutant powers
Exactatiously along those lines...a magical elemental.
Which brings up a question I've always had about Ashake...is she considered a mutant, or is she a human who followed and embraced magic as her birthright?
AIPT: In the Dawn of X, you had to decide which mutants would sit on the Quiet Council. With X of Swords, you had to decide who the 10 sword-wielding mutants would be. x jonah x (@mavortianX) wanted to know what the process behind selecting these characters was like.
Vita: Imma be real, I just remember chanting “Storm, Storm, STORM” a bunch and pounding the table. I am sure there was a lot more nuance to the rest, but I think I just went feral and they indulged me…
Leah: I think Storm was a given, actually–we all implicitly understood the only possible correct choice was to definitely put a sword in Storm’s hand, one way or another.
AIPT: Well, that story’s going viral. On the subject of blades, @ororoswind noted that Storm’s sword appears to have a traditional African design. Once you selected the 10 sword-wielders, what types of thoughts went into designing or selecting the swords themselves?
Vita: There was a lot of thought put into sword designs, from artists and writers alike!
Jordan: For sure. Sometimes we chose the character first, and sometimes we chose the sword first and it was obvious who would be wielding it. But the ones that had new designs–Storm’s is a great example–had a lot of thought put into what they would look like. I think we ended up with a really nice look there thanks to Vita and Matteo Lolli.
Do you guys think Ororo and T'Challa's relationship will be part of the "romance" and "marriage" part mentioned in the interview.
AIPT: X-Fans love a good soap opera. Can we expect some romance in-between all the sword fighting?
Gerry: That’d be nice.
Annalise: You better believe it.
Zeb: The whole thing’s based on a romance, really. Oh, did I just show up and say too much? Sorry, really wanted to get in here.
Tini: Zeb’s right and he should say it.
Jonathan: Hey look who woke up.
Ben: There’s plenty of emotional drama mixed into the mayhem. I can’t share anything too detailed, but there’s a lot of angles on… marriage in this thing.
All that sounds really good. I am looking forward to what will happen between 'Ro and T'Challa. And I am looking forward into that sword of Storm, because it seems they've put a lot of thought into her sword.

I think that is fair but I would love to see this actually explored by hickman or at least touched upon in the next marauder issue.
I thought they were talking about Apocalypse and "Classified". Since it's largely an Apocalypse story.

I seriously doubt it but if it is the xoffices will do whatever it takes to shade and even end the relationship. I can see vita if she writes her long term maybe even ending it to explore her being bisexual. I wouldn’t be shocked by a thing at this point honestly oytside of them reaffirming their relationship.

If they are only going to turn around an end the relationship, now that Coates' BP is done, I would rather they not have even revisited that relationship. How the hell hard is long distancing dating with the world of comics? Hell, you even have people who have long distance marriages. If they want the relationship to continue, it will. If not, it won't. As a fan of the relationship, however, I hate being teased by the relationship again for it to end so soon.

Exactly to all of this. The Xmen have always been about drama just look at the mess going on with logan/scott/emma/jean. I dont want that for Ororo. They don't have to be married but the dynamic Coates set up for them both i thought was very nice rimantically speaking. Hopefully this is not the direction they take her down but that Marauders cover where she is dancing with death doesn't give me much faith in them.

I do think Coates established that a long distance relationship with them can work, if writers are willing or interested in writing it that way. Every time I see the cover with Ororo and Death, I always that of Black Panther. The visual similarities are obvious, IMO. But, even in the interview, the X Swords writers admitted to Marvel covers being misleading, so who knows about that cover. I also wonder if the reason Coates' last couple of issues were pushed back until next year was that he was asked to make changes to his original script.
I hope they cut that cord. T'challa has his own franchise to focus on, he doesn't need Ororo flying in out of nowhere to goddess the problems away before floating back to the X-Men. In an alternate universe they could work, in terms of the current Marvel comics\MCU, they are on completely separate paths.
If the MCU were going to recast T'challa with a new actor in the 25-30 range, and cast Ororo with an actress in the 20-25 range, I would be more open to them continuing in the comics, but let's be real. They will not. And the Coates run is not going to be remembered fondly or referenced much in the future. Both he and Hudlin failed with the couple despite being given a ton of creative license. And barring a huge leap, they won't happen in the MCU. The experiment has failed. Let it rest, and just build up each character as best as they can be, separately.

That's where I'm at. Vita is black so having them be the one to pull the trigger and break Storm/T'Challa up in one issue might be better than having Gerry doing it, at least from an optics standpoint. I like to think they're a professional and won't shit on T'Challa and Wakanda in the process (this is an X-book after all) but at the end of the day an amicable separation is good enough for me.
Plenty of qualified men at the X-offices can take on Storm and as you said, the current state of the MCU makes their pairing unlikely. Even if Disney recasts T'Challa (and there's a good chance they don't) they'll cast someone as closely as possible to Boseman so as to not disorient audiences more than necessary. Meaning T'Challa remains in his late thirties-early forties while Storm probably won't be any older than 35. They're more likely to put her with Forge or Logan at this point than T'Challa even before Boseman's tragic passing.
Plus it's hard to say what Coates had in store for them in his last 3 issues. He already planted the seeds for some trouble in their romance with stuff like Nakia. She may be dead, but Storm has made clear she has other responsibilities. We know from the X-books Krakoa has a policy of regime change in non-treaty nations and T'Challa may respect Krakoa's meaning for mutants but has shown no indication of accepting their deal.
For all we know Coates' last issue was them breaking up. They're on different paths and with the inevitable relaunch of the BP books in 2021-2022 and claims that Storm is gonna be a major player in the X-books after XoS, they should be fully immersed in their own franchises.
