is that the one where she uses the tidal wave to knock out those goons? I was trying to find more examples where she didn't use large amounts of water to demonstrate finer control but nevertheless if I'm thinking of the one you just reference that would work too.
we also shouldn't forget the times she has created water in combat as well. here she did this to put out a fire:

IMO Lightning Lass didn’t start showing up until All New All Different Marvel.
I say that because when I look back at ALL the feats that I have documented in her Classic Days to the 90’s and Early 2000’s Storm did a A LOT more Wind, Ice, Water Based attacks. So when I see people say Storm has been Lightning Lass forever. I Disagree.
That’s just my Opinion and what I’ve noticed.

is that around the time Emma and cyclops began running the show? if so I think you are probably right
Truthfully, Storm been low-key throwing out water attacks/bending since her first or second mission with the X-Men.

Thank you for posting these scans. I was just about to mention UXM94.
I thought moves like these would never be seen again.

You guys are welcome. :)
“Omega level” be damned. I found the humility shown in the treatment of her powers in X-Men #70 in this panel by Joe Kelly and Carlos Pacheco to be more illustrative of Storms personality and relationship with nature than anything else.

Bonus points to the creative team for showing Ororo delivering a massive blow to Juggernaut with attitude and dismissive use of her command of rain in that same issue!

One of my favourite issues and eras.
Love X-Men 70, they definitely used Storm right in that era (until after Magneto War) but always remember that they were building to kill her.
