this!! as much as ororo values her body and sees it as a sacred vessel the idea of it being destroyed is one something she wouldn't like but also the process of death is another aspect I dont think she would want to endure.

No. She was actually wearing civilian clothing when she decided to skinny-dip in the lake. She was still dealing with her injuries she gained from her battle with Khan.

Now if we go with your reason, she used her lightning to pick up her clothing on the river shore. Then break the clothing down to a molecule level. Then she took those molecules, send them into the atmosphere. Then brought the molecules back down within a lightning bolt and rearrange them as a one-piece swimsuit with metal rings to wear.

We don't see anything like that...but hey...I can go with it

Why would regular, store bought clothes with a rip in it be made of unstable molecules? And did she use lightning to sweep the clothes off the ground and onto her body? In the panel the clothes are over by the rock on the ground while she is up in the air.

To be more precise it was the outfit she was wearing when her and gambit were going undercover. Though i guess the wig could be unstable molecules too.

my fave thing about this volume was how before this storm's powers were described as the strength of her will and body but this whole volume shattered that. It's right after she was in the wheel chair and her legs were still weak but her powers more powerful than ever, as though they were compensating for her weak body.

I don't think anyone said she was Omnipotent. We're just pointing out an odd ability that should be looked more into. She manipulates molecules/atoms like a high level telekinetic. Hell, now that I think about it, I think she did it even before Jean Grey.

Just reread her current solo, she changes from an ensemble that look like it came from uptown chic in to costume. And every issue after that she just goes from outfit to costume almost on command without showing the switch. From running to the subway, jumping out the plane. And hiding amongst the crowd.
I just assume that uniform gets mileage.

Yes, to trigger her uniform. I thought that was common knowledge.

What's in question is her ability to shape her uniform/unstable molecules (maybe air) into different clothing. That can't be pre-programmed.

This is what I was looking for to show storm wasn't as old as people thought she was when she joined the x-men. She was 6 months when they moved and 5 year later her parents died meaning ororo was on her own since 5 years six months. She met charles before she started on her journey at 12 when her powers manifested so even if charles found her a decade later as a goddess storm at most would have been 22 but we know it was less than 10 years.


Also going to ask my fellow storm fans cause I appreciate your support. I have Wednesday and Thursday free so will leave the question open till Wednesday. What should my next storm piece be. Ororo101 has inspired me to level up and impress you all.

I never saw it as an ability, as part of her honed powerset.
It's just something she can do by using her lightning to rearrange the unstable molecules of her costume. Any one with electric powers should be able to do the same. An interesting feat...but nothing special. If she was attacked by Electro he could zap her into diapers and a frilly bonnet with ribbons.

But yes...she is always very detailed with the haute-couture reconfigurations to the point where I was like...

I loved the early issue where she was swimming naked and then Nightcrawler teleported in the pool and saw her naked. Storm then came out the pool to the entire team without a care in the world. Such a great moment to show how different experiences growing up molded each of the team members.

actually it is quite powerful just not explored
She's using electron manipulation via lightning to change the unstable molecules of her clothes. She has inorganic matter manipulation to manipulate the unstable molecules of her clothes. She can create any outfit she want. This ability improved to the point she can manipulate matter from the air to create clothes too. She has the power to manipulate inorganic objects..So storm has low level inorganic matter manipulation (shown). She could also has organic matter manipulation. If we look at what she did to Stardust.
