He just teases Storm at the very end, but it's an interesting interview anyways.

He always gives it to us but this? Just wow. What a gift. What a blessing. What a moment. So happy she’s closing out the series.

God Damn it.
Body .Face and HAIR. I love how there's power radiating from her eyes. Very surprised and very excited.

My mind is racing at a million miles a minute! Wondering if we’ll get a better idea of what this will be about for Ororo from the upcoming arch issues of BP?! They’ve teased she’ll have a role in the greater MU going forward, fingers crossed this is the inciting incident.

Wow, SHOCKED that Storm is getting her own one shot

Yeah, I feel that this is setting her up her appearance in the MCU as well. Restore her rightful place n the comics so she can take it in the movies too. I am very excited.

Wow, love the image and the news. Okay, I'm ready for this. Hope it's as good as we all want it to be. The next two years, huh? I agree, I think this focus on Storm is leading up to her inclusion in the MCU. Disney is all about lining up their ducks for the biggest possible payoff.

Could this be Feige's influence as Chief Creative Officer? I heard he now rules over the comics as well as the live actions angles of Marvel. Lord Feige! Deliver us from darkness!!

I really doubt he's really gonna be paying much attention to the comics in general. And definetely not right now where he's barely taken over, is extra busy with a thousand MCU projects, and X-Men aren't even coming to the MCU yet.
-
I mean, he probably doesn't have time to do much, but he was named in that position months ago. I'm sure he's had time to send an email that says make sure the following characters are being featured. Why even give him the title of Chief Creative Officer if it means nothing? For years already the comics have been aligning towards the MCU films as they come out, now that he is also overseeing the comics, why wouldn't he start influencing things from the other direction too?

-
Now, I'm not saying I think everything we see in the comics is going to make it to the MCU X-Men straight away(and I'm perfectly fine if Fantomex never gets a turn...), but I can see Feige being like, "what's Storm up to these days...", seeing what's been going on, and be like "uh un, where is my Claremontian goddess? Someone fix this while I work Storm into the BP2 script...".

It's so good. It's ridiculous how much just announcing a comic can brighten one's day. I hope Hickman really sinks his teeth into this one. I have really been enjoying all the interesting ideas introduced in his run so far, but Storm has been underutilized. I hope he shines that laser-like intellect of his on her and shows us the goods(now I am more excited about the Jean/Emma issue too, since they will be in her mind the whole issue, and it's supposed to connect back to Storm's issue)!

yes I'm very curious as to what angle they plan on taking her. of all the characters they picked her. and from what I understand all the stories connect in some way.
-
Y’all we were really in our feelings about Storm not having her name with Emma and Jean’s as a part of their GS issue that features Storm and look now at what we’ve been gifted with. The only female with her own Giant Size solo. The beginning and the end to the whole GS series. To think we would’ve been “happy” with her name as 1/3 on the titular promenade. Meanwhile we’ve been given so much more than a shared book, with patience. With two years worth of foresight for our girl apparently to boot! Just goes to show doesn’t it. God’s(or Goddess’ in this instance) time is ALWAYS right!!!

we sure were in our feelings but I dont think it was unwarranted. remember the many times storm fans were told there were big things in store for her only for it to materialize into nothing (specifically after the wedding ended). but that is in the past and I'm looking forward to something beautiful and true with this announcement. and you make an interesting observation. she was in the beginning of the issue and will be the last. alpha and omega. all things begin and end with the hadari yao!! blessed be the yao.

I'm very excited and cautious for this. I want this to be great. I know Hickman is a good writer and overall I like his work so I hope he delivers with this.
And that Dauterman art?!?!?!?!?!?!
Ok, I know I have been hating on Storm's pony-tail since day 1 but his Storm is just so BOSS! He makes her pony-tail look great! I think he is currently drawing her better than anyone else.

i personally have enjoyed all of hickmans storm so far

I have too. he has written her a fighting tirelessly to protect mutantkind and I appreciate that. I dont know what the endgame is for her character but I must say I'm very excited. I also feel like we are going to finally her godhead further explored in the xbooks. it's good times ahead of us my friends.

Perfection! Loving Storm's full lips and broad nose as well by Dauterman. Storm needs to tell these other pretenders to get OFF the catwalk cause she's slaying more than Buffy!

indeed beloved and the plan part is so important because it's not only supposed to impact ororo but the direction of the franchise as well (if I'm not mistaken). it's such wonderful news.

NO.
I highly DOUBT Feige had anything to do with this.
I would say folks like Vita, Leah and others who have FOUGHT to get books or something for others beside the usual suspects finally made their point.
It looks REALLY bad that a POC (not Nightcrawler) gets left off all these giant size books and be a franchise with black people issues (anyone seen Synch this month in X-Men?).
Now the question to ask is this a TEST to see if A Storm book using her NAME not someone else's title.
Send the message this June Storm fans..... Maybe Marvel might get it.

I'm not saying that Feige is behind this sudden shift to a focus on Storm. I will say, however, that Feige is very clear about bringing diverse characters into the MCU. So much money is made in movies abroad that the international viewership is taken into consideration when Americans produce movies. Marvel movies are huge abroad. So, Feige has added diversity even where none originally existed, such as with the Eternals. Actually, I'm not a fan of changing the race or gender of a character. Of course, the problem is that Marvel and DC have a history of creating mainly white and male characters that, in this day and where diversity is a huge selling feature, those two giants are sorely missing out. So, they change the race, gender, sexuality of canon characters to make the MCU more diverse.
However, with a character like Storm, no switching is required. Better, she has a rich history and can appeal to many types of moviegoers and comic book readers. There has yet to be an AA superheroine with her own movie. Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel led the way, showing that people, especially women and girls, will flock to a movie with a well-developed female lead. Feige could've done it with Monica Rambeau in Captain Marvel but didn't. He could do it with Storm's character. The funny thing, perhaps ironic, is where Feige and Disney went with the Carol Danvers version of Captain America, the actress who played Monica Rambeau's mother in Captain America will now be the first AA and female James Bond.
Now is the perfect time to try a Storm movie/book solo. Phase 4 and phase 5 could lead the way for a Storm solo.
