[spoil]I think that's a bit of a stretch there. I mean I don't think we can call that unless that's what Scott had planned that or if it was mentioned as apart of the plan [/spoil]

I agree it was part of the plan. Just they didn't show everyone else "following the plan."

yup exactly. why would they retreat if it didnt appear they were being overwhelmed?

Which is exactly why I don't think it was part of the plan. LOL things like that you can't just plan for.
It's just unfortunate that Storm just so happened to get hit. And she tanked it. Doesn't mean it's part of the plan though.
I think the BETTER Question is...what's with the Lightning Bolt trail that followed her when she got hit. I wonder if that was like her shooting back at the aircraft.

how could they effect a retreat without it being believable such an act was necessary? up until ororo got hit they were beating the vaults defenses. outside of that what else happened that would demonstrate they need to retreat?

Easy, not get hit in battle. Simple.
Beating the Vault Defenses quite easily is exactly why Storm getting hit is not part of the plan. It was not mentioned that Storm needed to get hit, it wasn't agreed upon Storm needed to get hit to make a retreat believable.
Nothing, in any of those panels states that in order for this distraction to work Storm needs to get hit.
What you could say her getting hit helped the plan and it made it believable. But you can not say that was definitively part of the plan. Because it wasn't.

I mean....that could be. I thought she shot a Bolt back at the Aircraft.
Someone else on Twitter was saying she created a Force Field....YEAH I don't buy that.
I think what's better is that she was able to Tank that Blast...lol she didn't get knocked out :-)

That's what I was saying. I thought she returned Fire. Either way she did good today. I'm happy
I just read the most recent issue of BP and it was interesting to see how concerned Tetu was about Storm's power. It seems N'Jadaka has a plan to defeat her tho so I guess we shall see.

Damn Storm can't get a day off no matter where she goes lol
Damn Storm can't get a day off no matter where she goes lol
That's actually an interesting story I would love to see. Storm having a mini breakdown from the stress of trying to juggle all her responsibilities.
Nothing major, just someone noticing the Gobi Desert has been getting an usual amount of rain or how Texas has been hit with a snowstorm in the middle of July.

I didn't get the feeling that N'Jadaka had a plan to deal with Ororo other than recognizing that, despite her being a goddess, she would eventually tire. His plan, at most, is to inundate her with soldiers from his five galaxies. A couple of pages later Shuri makes the same point as N'Jadaka about Ororo's stamina and needing her fresh for the war and not wearing herself out for every battle.
He definitely had a plan to shut Eden down, though, and it worked perfectly, especially since Ororo wasn't on the scene with him. The next couple of issues should be interesting. Coates, especially with bringing in Misty Knight, Luke Cage, Sam Wilson, and Monica Rambeau has a lot of pieces on the board. I can't wait to see how he uses everyone.

they were literally taking care of all the aerial attacks. what was there to retreat from? when they were completely eviscerating them?
hickman showing her hit as he says they have to retreat would indicate that was a part of the plan.
ororo was the biggest hitter and the one causing the most damage to the vault, hence the primary target while cyck and armor werent doing as much damage, once ororo got hit the bigger threat stoped, its pretty visualy obvious from the massive lightning strikes.

yes that one was really cute too. it kinda put me in the mind of xmen gold when she used lightning to take out all the sentinels.
and what theme do you think that is exactly?

Her getting hit.
But whatever it is, I think it's way better than Bendis and her drooling so.
I have been playing a considerable amount in Marvel Super War. I think Storm is one of the most basic characters, very straightforward playstyle but very bland. It's a character designed for beginner players. But in the hands of a pro, she can stand her ground. Her melee counterpart in terms of the simplicity is Beast (for X-Men members). She's a bit of meh.
However, some of the X-Men characters have great playstyles. My fave is Iceman. Jubilee is fun and has a bit more depth. Emma has the most complex playstyle for X characters I think. In the hands of a good player, she's going to dominate.

lolol.. has he shown her getting hit outside of this instance?
I'm really ready for them.to let her utilize wind or lightning to create a shield. why she has only done this once in her career that I can think of makes no sense.
and storm looks like garbage in super war. her powers are only wind and lightning and it doesnt even really seem to do much damage as some of the other players kn the game.
I definitely think there is a lot lacking on her powerset.

No, Hickman showing Storm getting hit is just a coincidence. Storm just so happened to get hit. That's not part of the plan.
It was not stated, it was not mentioned nor was it agreed upon. The only reason you believe it was part of the plan of how well it actually worked to make it believable.
It was a circumstance that just so happened to work in their favor.

I like what you did here but you didnt answer my question. what was there to retreat from when they were hitting the automatic defenses hard?
I just read the most recent issue of BP and it was interesting to see how concerned Tetu was about Storm's power. It seems N'Jadaka has a plan to defeat her tho so I guess we shall see.
I actually thought this was a foreshadowing to an effort to overwhelm her or take her out somehow.
I like what you did here but you didnt answer my question. what was there to retreat from when they were hitting the automatic defenses hard?
I didn't answer your question because it's irrelevant to the past few responses i've been telling now.

Its more the way she gets hit. In issue 1 she is nearly nailed (due to fatigue) but was saved by Scott and then here she is so focused on taking out the 3 aerial drones in front of her but leaves herself vulnerable to attack from behind. I guess I am expecting the writers to leverage her tactical skill/thinking more vs her positioning herself in combat where she looks shortsighted in her approach. Like why fly up to the sentinels face/open sky when, while it looked awesome and dramatic, she doesn’t need to and has a jungle and flight to maneuver while attacking with protection/defense options. Or use her powers (Heavy fog/electrically charged air) to make herself a harder target to locate. Or note why, even if she is focused in her attack, she doesn’t sense her attackers position in the atmosphere so she can be ready to react (even though sensing them doesn’t mean she’ll always be able to react in time). I’m being super critical lol but it just seems like Hickman has a theme with this line of behavior that I think is unusual for Ororo.
In either case I enjoyed the issue and Storm’s role in the story.
And agreed with Sugarfree. Its better than Storm being a drooling hot ass mess and looking weak sauce lol.
I didn't answer your question because it's irrelevant to the past few responses i've been telling now.
basically you just answered my question. there was nothing that occurred that would require them to retreat

lolol you know I just had a convo with a friend that her attack didnt require her to be our and in the open I would love to see her be more covert with her attacks like how saw in wolverine when they snuck into wakanda. I cant blame Hickman though as many writers are guilty of this.
I actually thought this was a foreshadowing to an effort to overwhelm her or take her out somehow.
This is what I was thinking as well.
I hope at some point we get to see Ororo and Bast interact with one another. Especially now that Storm has transcended to Hadari Yao and has the faith of some of the Wakandan people.
I also want Ororo and N'Jadaka to meet since he too became a God.
basically you just answered my question. there was nothing that occurred that would require them to retreat

We are talking about what was and what wasn't part of the plan.
You are talking about something totally different. Hence why I didn't acknowledge your questions in the first place. If anything you probably answered your own question which isn't what we are discussing.

I don't see it as an issue, If Bast is already part of a pantheon, then people already worship multiple ones anyway. I'm waiting to see if Coates remembers that Wakandans also see Monica as a goddess, including Tchalla. Worst that would happen is Bast would call her a pretender(which I believe she has in the past) and Storm would probably agree.

I don't think it would be an issue per se either, but, I think it can lead to some interesting conversations. Storm and Bast always seemed to have a tense relationship with one another to begin with, but I do think they can learn some things from one another.

Agreed and I think that would make for a compelling story/conversation between them. I feel like Coates has been planning for this. Not necessarily a fight but a Good lengthier WAP level conversation.
I want Storm and Bast to fight. THAT'S what I want to see. Or at least Bast to acknowledge Storm took her followers or something like that.
Right now, everyone is not happy with Bast.
