Do most people break into their exes home to steal a family heirloom or tell their ex not to date someone, even though they're both single, because they don't like them?
Wow. The costume is a hot mess but that is like an off the pages comic superheroine stature. Amazing. Very feminine and still strong. She would make a perfect Nubia to Gal's Wonder Woman..
The details of the costume are unfortunately horrible, but the model is stunning.

On the "Black Love" for Ororo front, I've held Phil Jimenez as my hoped for writer for a Storm series in part so he could introduce a version of Trevor Barnes, his attempt at giving Wonder Woman a modern love interest that was still a "Trevor".

Most definitely muscular
This concept of Black Love as explained by Chief is perfectly understandable. If we look to the idealised, romaticised, potential of that love as exemplified (and marketed) in this instance of two Black People of Royal lineage coming together. A lovely vision but, as is with LOVE in general, not perfect.
A pity, the writers tended focus on the not so perfect elements.
Well the issue is black misery tends to sell way too well and gets a seat at the main table. While other versions struggle to get noticed at times.

Couldn't have been better said. And this isn't even just an issue for black characters, though it does seem to affect them worse because they tend to have less editorial protection than their white counterparts. Deconstructionist misery porn is one of many things that's caused the decline in quality for modern comics.
Highlighting dysfunction and constantly putting characters through shit under the guise of deepness has done more harm than good because many writers lack the skill to actually reconstruct the characters they're tearing down in the first place. It's why DOX has been so strongly received, because it allowed the X-Men to not constantly fail or fall victim to inter-mutant strife for the 50th time.
All the stories that could be told within a romance, whether we're talking BP-Storm or another couple, and for some reason writers default to love triangles, unending bickering, and projecting "realism" onto why they can't possibly work. Obviously, characters should be challenged, but all too often writers are more interested in messing with their heroes than validating their core beliefs and methods.

I see that a lot of people are using "black love" term without realizing what it really means. Black Love is an American term and it is something which you will not meet in most American couples, it is a type of love in which each party is more than ready to put their family, their children, their partner before everything else. The relationship is usually built on a lot of passion, chemistry and love.
As mentioned it is hard to explain but you can notice it if you watch movies about black people from American descent in American Movies. I just don't see that between Storm and Black Panther.
I see that a lot of people are using "black love" term without realizing what it really means. Black Love is something which you will not meet in most black American couples, and usually, it is a relationship that has established in a poor neighbourhood or was slowly built and established with time. Black Love is a type of love for which you are more than ready to die for. Let me put it this way. Black Love is built on solid love between two unique people who rely mostly on passion and family bonds of black ascend, negers. You don't see that, often, between two white Americans, for example, but when it comes to Black American people, it is entirely different. Black Love is not something that you meet that often in Africa, and it is scarce to happen in Africa and even so it won't be like it would be in the USA, for example.
I recommend people watching more movies with negers and black people to understand what Black Love really means this doesn't apply for Storm and Black Panther since they are both from African heritage and their "Black Love" even if you can call it like that, is far from what the real Black Love is. Black Love is American Term, just to put that here. I hope you understand it because you can't simply explain it via words, it is something that you must witness with your own eyes and sense with your own emotions. Just watch some really well made, a good movie about negers, that touch on their ghetto so to speak and you will see what Black Love really means.
sorry but wth are you talking about "You won't find most American Black couples" and wth is a "neger".

Marauders was interesting. I really enjoyed Storm’s part in this.

Sounds good. I'll get it.
I also enjoyed the issue. It made me really curious about Death and who he is beneath that helmet. (I assume it's a helmet).

We have seen Annihilation without the helmet and she is a normal black woman, which implies that yes, her children also wear black suits, that this is not their skin.
either storm with a mowhawk or identical daughter is fighting with thors grand daughters and phoenix logan. but i think its the colorist making a huge oops and that was the third grandaughter though she didn't have a mohawk.

she's not Normal, she's Apocalypse's wife who knows how to beat bitches asses lol
I didn't like Marauders today but I thought Storm was decent. It seems that Death knew pretty immediately that she had never died before, so that gives some insight into his powers. It looks like she's playing hard to get but she remained classy and beautiful through the whole dance sequence.
Storm did briefly die in Fall of the Mutants. Roma was even there and brought her and the team back. The Brood saga and that war against Khan in X-treme were other brushes with death. Oh, and T'challa let her die in the Incursion. She also was kinda dead when she went to the afterworld after him and beat back Death when Doom messed him up.
I'm actually feeling Ororo flirting with Death. She switches up their sexy underwater dance and dips him! I live.
Whatever this interaction is leading to, I'm here for it.
And I know Death is fine under that dog helmet. I said on another thread I hope looks like a mix between Mahershala Ali and Marwan Kenzari.

For some reason Death didn't recognize those instances I guess lol. Maybe his powers aren't as perceptive as they seem to be?

or maybe he has another definition of death that doesn't apply to Ororo's previous "deaths"
I did enjoy this issue, I like how it is setting in place the next things to happen. I am really starting to warm to the idea between Storm and Death and wherever that may lead down the line. The dance was really nice and I was here for the flirtation between the two. Moreso excited for the next issue now, and I am hoping to see this relationship developed more, I am indeed a fan.
I also think the Storm/Death pairing is intriguing. It will be interesting to see how it plays out in the story and maybe even beyond. After looking at XMen 14 I am starting to wonder even more about Storm's role primarily with the whole golden mask thing. Genesis talks about how wearing the mask bends the will of the wearer to it's own. It immediately made me think that perhaps Storm may become a future wearer who could in fact overcome the mask's will due to her own indomitable will. This could then serve to somehow peacefully unify Krakoa and Arrako while also making her the leader of the horde of monsters and perhaps she shares this throne somehow with Death. Which may even be why she tussles with Callisto since she once was leader of the morlocks. Perhaps, she talks with Calisto about her past to prevent making similar mistakes in the future. Of course this is probably NOT going to be close to what happens lol (again the events leading speculation is why I am enjoying this event). However, the tarot card shows Storm on death's horse leading a group of demons, so it makes me curious.

It was definitely intriguing. Especially the whole balaance of it, Ororo and life and death and now literal death. I think she knew her attraction would be undeniable so she had to friendzone real quick with hand holding is as fr as we get. I'm just glad my girl ain't moping around. I am loving it. Also opening the water so they could swim, the mermaids were in awe and got in on the action.
Her "i thought war would be more artful" says everything about Storm and how complex she is. lol
Some of my fave panels from the issue.

This is an idea I never even though off before that she could take the crown, it makes sense and it would be a change and something big for the character as long as it’s not paid dust like it was when she “lead the morlocks” maybe wearing the mask will make her a bit more darker but she is able to beat it, but it leaves a darkness on her soul not flat out evil but just slightly more malice than she was before. Yea it’s all good and dandy to have her as the mother hen, but I’m not a fan of holier than thou Storm I love when she gets down and dirty so I’m here for it all if that indeed is how it works out. This would be a big change for Storm and a metamorphosis for her.

It would actually make a lot of sense to. What better way to create an alliance between Krakoa and Arrako than the son of Genesis and basically a child of Krakoa. Maybe storm got the message from her tarot and thats why she was so adamant to get in front of in in marauders and let the status of what their "relationship" will be clear. Which means she may totally fall for him, he's already smitten. lol

I love Caselli but I do venomously hate how draws her hair and cape and I'm still not fond of the neckline of the costume either.

After Dauterman i just can't go back to a flat pony tail. lol. so i def know what you mean. even in my own sketches now i keep hearing in my head "MORE ponytail." lol. Overall it fit well though. The sequence was so surreal. Like, sure, Storm can part water, but it didn't seem like they were in a bubble of air under the water. It was more like they were just speaking and dancing in the water. And the clam shell thing at the end? I guess Otherworld is supposed to be magical or something, but it was a bit wonky to me.

Exactatiously!
I'm usually not one for gross speculation because the end product hardly ever lives up to the ideas but I'm having such fun thinking of Storm and Death ruling Arrako together. Storm has always been portrayed as a "bridge" between two worlds...between human and mutant, between modernity and the past, now Arakko and Krakoa...the fan-fic positively writes itself.

Omg yes to this. I think I’m making myself overly excited but that is so perfect how you stated it, the son of Genesis and a child of Krakoa uniting the nations. I’m loving the idea more and more.
