So, this is including women from India as black women? It certainly is debatable, but an uncommon point of view.

Indians are not black
Was Charlotte Jones a Claremazon?
Well, I did make a list of the most frequently appearing black female heroes/allies in Marvel comics a while back. These aren’t all mutants, but I felt it was worth mentioning regardless: https://comicvine.gamespot.com/profile/electricmastro/lists/most-frequently-appearing-black-female-heroesallie/77687/

Dr. Kavita Rao is also from India.
Was Charlotte Jones a Claremazon?
No. He didnt create nor defined her
Was Charlotte Jones a Claremazon?
I mean.. very light.. She was Angel walking on the wild side. I think its interesting if you look at his love interest Pre Blue/Metal Wings and Post Blue Metal Wings.
Indians are not black
The earliest populations in India were definitely black. Some isolated pockets of them exist to this day, particularly in the islands off the coast. One could consider modern populations as mixed descendants, with the Dravidians retaining a stronger lineage vs more Iranic/Persian northern Indians. It certainly isn't a popular convention, but is more true than it is not.
So, this is including women from India as black women? It certainly is debatable, but an uncommon point of view.
It’s interesting, because I think recall showing the list to others encouraging me to put dark-skinned people from India, Cuba, Saudi Arabia, and such on the basis of the idea that all black people aren’t born in Africa, and don’t directly have to be of African descent either, and that there are some African-Americans people would accuse of being lighter-skinned anyhow, so I caved and put them on, but in seeing this response now, I suppose I could remove Kavita, Trinary and Timeslip based on this.

You know exactly what is being referenced when we are talking about black heroes here and none of these Indian characters qualify. You can find black people in China. That doesnt mean that Chinese people are considered black. A few isolated cases does not represent an entire group as a whole. Its not like the US, where the term is largely used which has a much greater mix of different ethnic groups such that it carries more weight

I would consider them people of color, but definitely not black
Penance (the original)
The M twins
Well, the real trick is that all continents were inhabited by 'black' peoples first, and all modern humans descend from them at some level. Yes, modern Chinese are pretty far from their Afro-Asiatic ancestors, but they are still 'high yellow' if you know what I mean... But yes, as conventional, pervasive ideas, the black roots of Arabs, East Asians, and South Asians are largely ignored. But still, an argument can be made, especially if biracial people are usually still considered 'black'.
Stevie Hunter should be included. Best x-woman.
Particularly worth mentioning is the rarely mentioned Krystalin, who was a black woman that was a member of the X-Men, but in the future on an alternate Earth.
Particularly worth mentioning is the rarely mentioned Twilight, who was a black woman that was a member of the X-Men, but in the future on an alternate Earth.

If Hickman found someway to involve this team into his arc, I would burst.
Don't forget about Frenzy, a drastically underused character. With her choosing to remember her life in the AoX storyline really changed my opinion of her. Before I was totally indifferent to her, passing her off as a one-dimensional villain. It was a mistake not seeing her reaction to Cyke's death. Bendis should have used her.
Agreed, Frenzy should be used more.

That's Krystal. She had Iceman like powers but with minerals/crystal. Very powerful but so underused in the series.
Also, Twilight, from X-Nation:

I actually liked her. She generated a small sphere that allowed her to manipulate reality within it.

WOW....I didn't know we had A LOT of Black Females in Marvel....Interesting.
Storm, Monica Rambeau, and Misty Knight as they appeared in Captain America: Sam Wilson #10 (August, 2016).

Which genius at Marvel thought it was a good idea to create a black character who's power is to turn into a gorilla?

Alot seem to either be alternate universe and/or used a handful of times, so you wouldnt necesarily know them

HAHAHA When I 1st saw this picture I had a Joke in my head for this.
Ok now some of y'all know good and well what people mean by Black. Lets not even be on this splitting hair stuff. It is not a diss to not list a South Asian character as a Black. Of course there are intermarriages between Black and Indian seen especially on the eastern horn of Africa. But Timeslip and Trinary are not part of those populations. They are POC just not Black. We all know there is not enough racialized nuance in comic book character creation so lets keep it cute.
I actually liked her. She generated a small sphere that allowed her to manipulate reality within it.
She was dope and I liked her Ambrose Chase like power.. She was the one who was giving it to Exodus when they fought for a bit. Kyrs was also dope. I always wondered if Emma's Diamond form would lead to her doing what Kyrs did with her powers.
memorize the list well .. but I think there are two that should not be black sewn.
M is biracial.
And Trinary I am almost completely sure that it is indú ethnicity???? And although many indu are of dark skin tone they are not black they are of Caucasian ethnicity.
if so, they can skip trinary.
I don't sure . But Trinary looks like would a indú girl
So, this is including women from India as black women? It certainly is debatable, but an uncommon point of view.
women coming from india, they are of Caucasian ethnicity, that is not debatable.
Including them on a list of Afro-descendant women is an epic mistake.

The first people of India looks like the Andaman Islanders. That is not debatable.

Ah, so “Afro-descendant” and “black” are the same then, objectively so?
Ah, so “Afro-descendant” and “black” are the same then, objectively so?
Technically, we're all from African descendants...but that's a whole other conversation.
If we are considering everyone as having African descendants, then what is the point of the term black? Ya'll know what we are talking about and its pedantic to act like thats not the case. None of the Indians on that list would be considered black. Might as well throw Jean Grey and Karma on that list if the loosest definition includes everyone with any ounce African ancestry

Ask the white people who made the race classification.

Lightbright from Silver Sable and the Wild Pack caught my attention in particular. I liked her, with her standoffish, aggressive expression that was done in a way that I latched onto. Too bad she didn’t show up much more after that though.

I like the East African representation. She def should be on the island. She reminds me a bit of the mutant that Strong Guy was connected to from Genosha.
I also forgot about Hub. The teleporter Clarmont introduced during his Excaulibur stuff with Chuck and Mags.
