IF she gets more and he gets more, i'm good. One of my major problems with them appearing in a movie together is that it limits the exposure of black actors. Why not develope kenya for ororo and have a whole new cast of black actors and actresses rather than piggy back off him. If they break up in comics it does bode well for her not appearing in his movie, at least not in a romantic role. ^________^
In other stuff i went down the storm family rabbit hole. INteresting that her ancestory Ayesha who was a queen was also sorcecor supreme for 4000 years. Aside from agamatto has anyone else held the title so long?
Their mythos are tied and has been since Claremont established they traveled together as kids. Them being lovers and exploring their combined connection wont take away from her development or incorporating aspects of her mythos separate from him.
and to your last question I have no idea but 4000 yrs is a long time so i would guess not.
So you guys remember when Jordan D. White was asked what to expect from storm in the new future and he said something along the lines of "couple." I really really hope the xoffices are not going to break up Ororo from Tchalla AGAIN! Seriously over that ish.

If it happens i'll be more than ok with it but if the coupling is replaced with another i still will be ok with it. I just dislike the couple prism Ororo is in recently. It is what it is we can't do anything about it
Whatever they come up with i hope it makes sense, it is compelling and entertaining.

why do you dislike what she was recently in couple/relationship-wise?

And yet Claremont himself had a problem with them being together. So for me if the person who created it didn't want it that way and said so, i feel justified.
Yeah 4000 years is a LONG time. Apparently she was able to use magic to extend her life. Also interesting her other ancestor was the Empress of the Meroe People. I girl has the first Queens running through her blood. I think it's cool she is connected to all the first original civilizations of power the Meroe via Ashake (daughter of Ashake) No powers she was a flat out warrior, Egypt via Ashake , Magical abilities and looks just like Ororo, and Ayesha of Balobedu who was the first sorcereor supreme after agamatto. So far storm has walked a similar path to each at different times so it makes sense to me she would be the culmination of her ancestors potential power.
Also Apocalypse has had to have known a few of Ororo ancestors. We need some talk of this. Like i really feel we need a mini addressing him meeting a few of them.

1. For a man who wrote Ororo as being racially ambiguous and having her "bestfriend" she her as a slave, Claremont has not always got it right with her character especially from the perspective of the black experience. His primary concern was that they both have too big personalities to pair up but Coates obviously demonstrated that they could work and be written well together. So if Claremont is the baramoter then his opinion here is inaccurate and Coates is the evidence of that.
2. I'm really excited to see how ororo ties into all of this. It would make the most sense that it would be one of ancestors based upon all we know of Ashake (even its she is not involved).

1. Untrue. That is opinion. In that not everyone has a consus that Coates did it right. Not many if you think about the grand scheme of sales numbers. I would say in this case the creator of the initial interactions would have more merit on if it could work or should happen than the writings to follow.
-
One could also make the argument if it was so beloved then why did storm fans never jump off. If both fans of a group agree with how a pairing is being written together that should reflect in sales. The storm solo average anywhere from 15-20000 overall but those fans never jumped on bp.

I'm confused. what part is untrue that he wrote them well as a couple? regardless of sales professional critics (most not all) have stated that he in fact has written them as a great couple. even those who complain dont find issue because they are together but because they want to see tchalla do more without her aid, which is a separate issue.

hudlin characterization of ororo wasnt favorable by most storm fans; however, when mcduffie wrote her many of those fans had positive things to say with how he wrote them. bottom line if the main issue is that they both have two strong personalities and therefore cant work together then I think that is a flawed argument as there have been numerous stories both when they were and since it ended that would prove otherwise. moreover, how can one make that argument and the ship her to be with yukio, thor, wolverine, etc? all those characters have strong personalities as well so that logic doesnt quite make sense to me.
why do you dislike what she was recently in couple/relationship-wise?
When the conversation about Ororo or what happens to her is only through a prism of her relationship it kind of leaves a lot to be desired character-wise. The relationship with T'Challa takes her and him away from their base of power (their own franchise) which weakens them both narrative-ly in the long run because one will have to be subordinate to the other story-wise as a result it has made Storm being a supporting character kind of a defining trait. By the way that is how i view the consequence of their relationship and i'm sure many ppl view it differently lol!
I guess i need a coupling that i can ignore and not subsume my fave character in to the category of a love interest

No not this dead end convo again .
-
What if Anubis was in a relationship with Ororo's ancestors. And is now just reclaiming his love through her.

for me I dont mind ororo having exposure beyond just the xmen as she should be a major player in the mu. considering their connection in the past them interacting is a lot more organic than say wolverine being possessed by Phoenix.

possible kinda like the mummy. that would be a cute idea

No one has a problem with them working together and that's basically all they did through Coate's run so his argument still stands. There has NEVER been a book where Storm and Tchalla were equally billed. not even by coates. All he did was guest appearances no different than BP teaming up with Thor except a bit more intimate. When there is a BP and Storm book or a Storm and BP book where both are billed as lead then and only then can we find out if Claremont was wrong.

Storm's ancestor probably wasn't giving him the time of day so now he's trying his hand at Ororo lol. That'd be an interesting twist.
