what kinda foreshadowing we talkin bout over here, I'm curious as well
what kinda foreshadowing we talkin bout over here, I'm curious as well
it was two things that stood out to me.
1. Delores mentions that there was a sadness about her, that if she was not unwell ill at ease (this could be tslking to the virus in her body).
2. This was the more interesting statement but in Dolores' email she ststes that she doesn't understand Krakoan government but she doesn't understand why a mutant who was as powerful as she and leader of the xmen is not one of the voices of Krakoa. Im not sure if this is a nod to what's to come in sword of x but I dont see this as a coincidence

Yes, I did read them.
To your points that you made below this response.
1. The references of Storm being “Sad” and “Unwell” is a direct reference to The Death of Kitty. AND the Machine Virus.
-Storm is SAD she lost Kitty.
-Storm is UNWELL because she’s about to die in 30days with a Tech Virus in her.
2. As for your second response. I have no idea what your trying to imply.
In the Words of Monet...”Try Harder” Kyss

1. yes I believe you are right to this. I'm ready for the preview to gs.
also do you think what delores had to say about her not having a voice in krakoa as one of the most powerful residents will bear any fruit? I really love how ororo is still connected to the outside world and specifically those humans who are often times overlooked such as the disabled. it ties back to her statements she made to the council that they shouldn't look to being self isolated in krakao and pushed for them to build their homes in the world.
2. Just know I'm always bish!!!

Well Delores is an outsider commenting on internal Krakoan politics. While narratively speaking Storm hasn’t been relevant to the plot of Marauders in the same way Emma or Kate were, she has roughly equal power as a member of the Quiet Council. But her lack of a high ranking position within the Hellfire Company is probably known to the X-Desk so as an outsider looking in Delores probably thinks Ororo isn’t as influential as she actually is.
But I think it could be taken as foreshadowing of her taking on a more “official” position within Krakoan society. You’d think that as the second greatest leader of the X-Men after Cyclops she’d have a solidified title or something in this new status quo. All she’s gotten so far is this soft “high priestess” thing that seems to have fallen to the wayside as of late. X of Swords could be what begins her taking a more prominent role in Dawn of X with her (presumably) not being shared with the Black Panther office anymore. Maybe she becomes a kind of ambassador to the people of Arrako and grows into her mystical side. Or she leads Krakoa’s relationship with Africa (including Wakanda) and she heads up operations there?
I'm glad the virus wasn't forgotten but I hope the X-Men find the cure for Ororo before 30 days instead of letting her die and make a new body for her

I think even Emma acknowledged that Storm is the spiritual leader of Krakoa! In a way Storm is like the High Priestess of Krakoa!
In the end it doesn't matter how much panel time she had before, obviously they had plans for Storm going back a while! 3 of the Giant Size stories are about things happening to Storm, in X-Men she is shown as a respected leader beside Cyclops and a spiritual priestess for Krakoa, in Marauders it was mostly that she checked in on Kate the same way Emma does! Plus Storm is making sure all of the mutant refugees are processed on Krakoa! We already know she has a big part to play in upcoming storylines, particularly X of Swords which is coming right away!
The thing I loved about this issue was how much of a total crush Delores has on Storm! Haha, even Delores thinks Storm is a Goddess!

I wouldn’t take Delores words serious when she admitted to not knowing anything of Krakoan Government. Especially since Storm is in a position of Power a.k.a “The Quite Council”.

Yea there's been subtle hints toward Storm and Krakoan spirituality. I don't go as far as calling her "high priestess" because it's not an official position and it's not a constant/important aspect of her status quo. I'd trade that and 3 underwhelming Giant-Size books for a leadership position and a strong character arc at the beginning of DoX but overall things seem to be looking up lol.

Yes I think Delores was speaking primarily to her duties within this book, which as you've mentioned, she seems to have some knowledge as she has been working with them that Kitty is the leader.
Second greatest xmen leader is arguable especially when he's paired against Ororo but i hear you. I prefer not to speculate on her role outside the xoffices especially as it lertains to BP because that would assume he will even have a book in the near future. All I know is what has been said in interviews and that is she would be baving a larger role moving forward. What that entails is anyone's guess. I do like your last option but if she remains on the marauders book that seems highly unlikely as well.

How about her stopping a tsunami by breaking the ozone layer and turning the water into mist, in her solo? Isn't that close to what you are referring?
And by the way, have you guys noticed that her eyes are all the time white during each X-Book since House of X and Power of X? It's like they don't count her crystal blue eyes in her panels anymore. It is like 99% of the time her eyes are always white. Leaving 1% since I might have missed the eyes showing her blue irises somewhere...
And oh god, I loved, loved Marauders 11, Kitty is finally back! And Storm outfit was amazing in that metro!

I think for me she would have to directly convert the water to steam (which was not the case with hydroman). In the way you mentioned it she did convert the water to vapor but she didn't directly do this. The radiation or direct sunlight was what caused the phase change.
I think she should definitely be able to directly cause a phase change with water as we have seen her do this by changing water to ice directly. I just can't think of any instances where she has directly converted water to steam.
I think aritsts are just super lazy when it comes to her missing pupils. unless she is constantly viewing the world in energy form which is not the case.

Storm

Storm isn't just the first Black member of the X-Men, she's also Marvel's first prominent Black female hero. Part of the Giant-Sized X-Men line-up that revitalized and reinvigorated the X-Men, Storm is also one of the most enduring members of the team across comic books, animation, movies, and more.
Storm was the first Black woman to join the X-Men. It took the Avengers another decade to catch up, along with the Justice League, who didn't include a Black woman - or any black members - on their roster until Vixen joined in the early 80s.
Storm is currently on the verge of a big story in the X-Men 'Dawn of X' era's first major crossover, 'X of Swords,' where evidence points to her potentially turning to the side of Apocalypse.

Well Damn...I always assumed Storm was a icon but it just dawned on me she was the first black female leader.
On a side note, the other sides of my holy black female trinity of Vixen and Captain "Monica" Marvel where the first of their team too.
Come on Marvel and DC pick up your game.

you're absolutely right. I thought humidity was the liquid concentration of water present in air. so that would constitute a direct instance of her doing a phase change from liquid to vapor.

Ya'll think she'll be in this issue or just a cover cameo?
I think she will be in it. This issue is near the end of the event so all the swordwielders will probably be together as the climax approaches.
I wasn't impressed by her outfit on the train...tbh. The head to toe black ensemble was okies...but nothing really distinctive to rave about. She's had more exquisite looks.
There was a cover where Storm is fighting Pogg Ur Pogg in the Back(which I predict she will).

Long time listener, first time caller - a little late to the discussion. I hope no one minds me pulling the topic back to the Delores anvil for a sec. I really think there’s something to be said for what Delores is talking about in terms of “why isn’t she in a greater position ion of power?” If you’ll forgive the mixed metaphor, I think something is rotten in the state of Krakoa. There have been lots of hints that people are not themselves, point of order, this whole polyamory Wolvie/Jean/Cyclops thing. I just don’t see it happening in NY in a million years, and IMO, the weirdness seems to point towards what happens When mutants are revived ... which Storm never has been.
Also, consider at one point Storm was sworn never to take a life - which she does now when necessary, but do you guys really think she’d just shrug her shoulders at the Crucible with Apocalypse? Everyone seems to be hunky dory with this aspect of life on Krakoa. Yes, Storm is on Quiet Council, but we’ve seen very little from her since the start of Krakoa and that whole party scene.
My whole point is that I think this is not a throwaway line, and you guys are overlooking a potentially big hint.

welcome to the storm forum boo!
I dont think everyone is overlooking it in fact I brought this up because I thought it was hinting to something possibly more.
I do however agree that some aspects of krakoa she would have issue with including mutants being anti-human. What I did like of the issue was that we see her, even ehike grieving and being ill still working to be a part of humanity and helping those who need it.

I do agree that some of them are acting strange, but I don't see it as a major issue, having in mind that they've all seen the future and they all know what will happen if they continue the old way. I like how things are, right now. They are neither heroes nor villains, they are in the middle with the scales leaning more towards the hero aspect. And I do like the Summers' set up. I think it is befitting for nearly 80 years of history... I am not surprised that Cyclops, Jean and Wolverine are living together with their kids, I see it more like a family. Plus it does put the potential that something more is happening in there, in the intimate aspect which I kinda enjoy since it was hinted plenty of times.
Plus I've always seen Jean, Logan and Scott as a bigger family, besides their love triangle. And it is kinda cool to see them live together with their kids, I wish we had some kind of casual comics showcasing what is going on when they are all together. A day in the Summers' residence.

I just see it as really OOC after so many years of squabbling for Scott and Logan to suddenly get along so well that they're both okay sleeping with Jean. And if you read X-Factor, Domino dies and suddenly wakes up a happy camper, right in front of Logan, and all the mutants, including the villains get along now. Happy happy joy joy. And then there's a line somewhere talking about the X of Swords crossover talking about fighting for the "soul of Krakoa". Color me a cynic. Have y'all seen the cover for Marauders #14, with Storm dancing with the mysterious cloaked figure? I'm just adding things up in my mind with this Delores thing, and her Giant Sized Issue, and her part in X of Swords...big things are coming down the pike, and I'm trying to figure out what they all mean, since it's been so long since we've had good Storm stories.
There was some cute Summers stuff, I think in X-Men...10 maybe? Yeah, with them down on the Moon "beach". It's something. :)

I saw someone theorized that she dances with "death" in an attempt to save tchalla's life as a result of him recently dying in empyre but i doubt that will be the case. i thought at first she would join the arrakoans but the other cover I posted seemed to indicsted the masked horseman woman and storm are two separate people. I hope we get some good storm moments and stories too. been way too long as it pertains to xbooks.
So C.B. Cebulski has confirmed black panther books that were left to be released are in fact coming!!! The Hadari Yao heard my prayers!!!!
