I can't even remember the last event Storm was important to.
Even on IvsX it felt like she was taking orders from Magneto and Emma.
but like, why would she be standing with them in stasis and then be "seduced" in a chapter after, it makes very little sense to me.
it may be brainwashing by way of different internal struggles she has regarding the krakoan ways. I think the brainwashing would come before the status stuff. if that is ororo. another thing could be that character is her ancestor ashake
A huge storyline that Storm in some way is hopefully a significant part of? It sounds too good to be true, I wonder if her giant size issue being pushed far back and closer to X of swords is not a coincidence.
ikr it is really hard to be optimistic that there is a story for 'Ro when history tells us otherwise BUT that cover alone makes me a willing fool lol I'm going to believe.
Wow you can tell Storm is Dautermann's favorite character. The amount of covers he's drawn of her is astronomical
He always draws her looking so divine. He is my first choice of artist for a future Storm solo.

I really dont think its ororo when she even has a sword and a chapter to get it.
the card has a wolf a dove, and a type of clothing storm has never used, none of that is associated with her, i think she is an ancestor or a thematic dark mirror, but I REALY doubt its storm and her identity is revealed right at chapter one of the event, and im not even sure the arrakoans are the villains.

I dont think its coincidence and we also have tchalla and shuri appearing in marauders which seems to connect to what coates was establishing. I'm cautiously optimistic though we've been down this road before.
however, its nice to have stuff, concrete stuff to speculate about.
These two women are 100 % related, but they wouldny show this transformation on the free issue and then say that her name is redacted if it was storm, because her giant size issue is right as the first chapter releases, spoiling her identity right away for a woman who hasnt even been to arrako leading the two horsemen and the arrakoans?
I sincerelly doubt it.
you may be right time will tell. either way I'm happy it seems storm is finally getting some attention from the xoffices.

it's because he knows he slays whenever he draws her like no one else can lol

For all we know mind manipulation could be part of Death's power set so brainwashing is a possibility. I think it's more likely there's some sort of tense alliance between the swordbearers of Arrako and the heroes of Krakoa and Death is trying to manipulate her with charm for one reason or another. Or vice versa. Storm seems to be very connected to the classified masked woman so maybe he takes a special interest in her.
But find it very interesting that in Marauders 13 T'Challa is with Storm while Marauders 14 seems to show her romantically involved with someone else. Kinda messy considering Coates hasn't completed his story yet and we don't know how he planned to cap off their relationship. But I guess the show must go on lol.

the card represents the balance between life and death. the left side is life the right side is death (living animals and dead ones respectively). storm is the goddess who preserves the balance of all natural things. there is a possibity this card is in reference to her. the cover says pick your foe so there is some indication they are the antagonists.

yea there definitely appears to be some connection to her and the classified mask woman but I think it would take a lot more than charm to see her side against her mutant family.
also I dont think them showing her dance with death is literal but is more metaphorical so I'm not really concerned with the idea that they are looking to put her this death character.

I agree. Death could be mind controlling her or Storm could be playing along with him trying to charm her. Anything could happen at this point. The metaphorical idea of Storm "dancing with death" is also cool, depending on how it plays out.

variant cover for X-MEN #13, out in October for Halloween by Dauterman
I LOVELOVELOVE it!!!
im sorry but that card isnt shown as balance, its shown as corruption, as the passage of time that turns even the brightest things into dark remains, as is the 8 of cups about abandonment and disapointment, and we know the horsemen have changed in their time on arrako, their Visual designs have changed and two of the horsemen are missing from the 10 of arrako, there is clearly something wrong, in this closed island that only a few can breach the gap.
It doesnt make sense for ororo to so quickly become like them in visual terms as well, the woman isnt just masked her skin and her hands are clawed, glassy black, she has a spear when we know ororo has a sword.
And if she did fall before the virus, why would it be a positive thing like the card presents it as, it doesnt make sense to show a positive background to an unnatural infection, especialy with flowers and animals and shit . it would mean she was changed by something she couldnt control yet the card shows it as the good part of this mysterious woman and how does a vault corrupted woman so quickly becomes a.. whatever the card lady is.
Its too simple and too much of a surface level prediction, wich is why I belive its more complicated and complex than that, hoxpox was the exact same thing.
I absolutly belive the virus having part of her face cut off just like this card is intended to conect these two women, but while ororo had help and people to take care of her to a point where two rivals put their difrences aside to rescue her and that SHE WILL save herself, this mysterious arrakoan had no one, apocalypse took too long and now she is corrupted, she had been abandoned.
I honestly think this leader has been in arrakoa like the others, that we saw her other half as a way to see how deeply this exile has affected the ones living in arrako

I never say the parallel between the virus storm face and the eight of cups. I think someone here posted it but I dodnt realize that was what was being linked. Nevertheless, it's all just speculation at this point. That woman may have zero connection to ororo but I dont think it's a coincidence that the xoffices are being secretive with her identity and then we see a cover with storm dancing with one of the arrakoans.
yeah but it doesnt really make sense for a sensual dance of seduction and of "death" to happen after the statis issue that has the "face your foe" line, so a duel betwen the two sides, ororo is already a sword bearer for krakoa, whats the point if shes already part of their side?

He said he likes JEAN the most. If he had to choose.
I’m just stirring the pot LOL
