About the Giant Size issue....whats the big deal? Why dont they just let Storm die? Its not like they cant just resurrect her free of infection
Now there’s the question of the day! Isn’t it interesting, considering Storm has never previously died? There’s something here, although it’s midnight where I am, so I’m not sure what. LOL. Does it have to do with Storm herself? Or does it have to do with the infection for some reason? 🤔 These are my thoughts. Nice variant cover, too...
Hunt for Wolverine came out in 2018 and we know that Hickman was already working on the X-books behind the scenes back then. He had an outline for several things that were to be put in motion by the time he took over. Even if you dont think that was the intent, Hickman IS the main writer now so if he were to make it be Storm as you theorized, its still him taking up someone elses' plot (who is no longer on the X-books) and bringing closure to it as he sees fit
It wasn't actually me who theorized that. I was just wondering if it was the Tony Stark discovery that they were talking about. Also, I was agreeing with you that it made sense that it could be referring to Sinister. I was just expressing that I thought the other writers started the idea, that's all. You seem to always respond very pointedly when there's no issue.

Is that a sword or a dagger? Looks like a Dagger to me, then a Sword... or Short-Sword, haven't decided yet. Do we know from which issue is that?
storm was good in that!
Indeed she was. And she was also powerful. The animation was also great, the only bad thing is that it does not exist in wider resolution.

He will probably get it back. I am not surprised, I kinda predict that he will get back his sword eventually. I also was certain that he is one of the ten wielders since his solo introduced this legendary space sword.

.....That little ol thing is Storm’s Sword? LOL.
Looks Vibranium. Well, she does carry a Vibranium Knife. I wouldn’t put it past her that they gave her a Vibranium Sword in the first place.
.....That little ol thing is Storm's Sword? LOL. .
That! So that! When I first saw it, but then I was told this:
Looks closer to a Roman Glave. Ultimate killing blade (carved an empire including Egypt). This is pretty badass and suggests she welcomes the wet work.
On Reddit, and my next thought was:
Interesting didn't think of it, that way... I completely forgot that the Romans used to have such blades.
Wait does that mean that she will travel to Rome or something? That would be sick if she ends up in time travelling or something... meeting the Roman gods.
Of course, this all is in my imagination, running wild imagining things which are most likely not there.

Oh yeah, someone posted the shape of the sword and what represents from the real world if you all wanna check it out:
The weapon held in Storm's hand has the shape of a boa sword from Congo. - http://www.karlssonandwickman.com/tribal-weapons/large-knife

thats interesting if that is in fact a congo insoired blade. than you!
Yea definitely looks Congolese or maybe Zulu with their short spears. The purple tint makes me think this is the sword she steals/is given from Wakanda. That design in the middle is interesting though, looks like a sword within a sword. Maybe it transforms when she electrifies it?
-
the middle part looks like a spine, bone spine
-
the middle part looks like a spine, bone spine
Yep, a few people pointed it out. It could have a part from the Sword of Bone. It will be interesting to find out more, about the sword itself. I am hoping soon.

thanks boo. I'm curious does tchalla work to give her this blade. in either event she looks great on the cover.

When/where does she get the blade from Wakanda? I don’t follow BP unless something important pops up. Many thanks.

I think it’s implied that he gave her one a long time ago? IDK I’m guessing. Because she pulled a Vibranium Knife out of her Ass and I don’t remember T’Challa Or the Dora ever giving Storm such weapons.
Unless.......Storm stole them!!!! That THEIF LOL

I dont think it has been established yet that she got the blade from them. i think it will be revealed in a later issue.

I don't know if i'm reading too much into this or it's all just coming together in my mind in an over the top way but i am feeling like somehow X-men Empyre connects to the Giant Size Books all leading up to storm. It could totally be a conincidence but there was so much here. Specifically is Hickman setting up a showdown between Scarlet Witch and Storm. Some inevitable fate.
A few things, the 30 days, now there is no way to tell if this story runs concurrent with the story about Storm's 30 days but interesting time frame. The countdown clock was very similar in some ways. The Tri crown taken from a godhead of chaos. Then it goes on to talk about how chaos covets order and seeks to corrupt while on the other hand a God Hood of balance (Specifically what ororo is as HAdari Yao.) will seek any opportunity to impose itself on chaos. And they both will want to undo wanda's work as much as she does.
None of this is probably going to happen but its fun thinking it might. lol
-
I dont think the two have any connection and it doesnt feel like there is anything being built up to have Storm face off against Wanda. If anything Hickman set up Wanda vs Maik here
-
I was actually thinking the same after Issue 1. But I think it’s going to lead into Wanda facing off against Krakoa and leading her to once again become a Mutant.

this is interesting and I think it would be cool if this all tied in together but I'm thinking the two events will probably not be connected.

It hasn't happened yet but it's a theory. On the cover of #13(?) of Marauders by Vita Ayala you have T'Challa and Shuri. The tagline is "A secret flight. A long journey. A Thief and a Queen". There's been a lot of speculation that she goes to Wakanda to steal an ancient sword from the kingdom to use in X of Swords.
-
I personally love this design of the sword, its clearly african, closer to a knife wich is her prefered weapon for years now, colour scheme is pretty to AND it looks well when she channels her powers into it

oh goddess. I hope they don't have her stealing from wakanda. tchalla would gladly give her a weapon if she asked.

may not but i hope it creates something new like maybe the god hood of chaos wanda robbed will now come for mutants and the god hood of balance has to step up.
Also the 30 day thing and the way it was counted down, it felt like it was a mechanism he could use to go back to overlap times in a correlating story. Either way a fun book that made my mind at least have some extra fun. lol

well ororo is the goddesss who preserves the balance of all natural things. seeing her abilities allowed her to defeat the chaos demon adversary, it would nice as you mentioned to see this aspect of her charscter come through to battle that chaos God. what is its name? it starts with a c i believe.

they didn't give a name, she was about to but stephen cut her off. I just think it would be really cool to go a giant sized Gods and Magic. Like the threads are there if someone wanted to connect them if that is not the intent already.
Excalibur dealing with Magic.
Nightcrawler doing a new religion.
Mutant Culture.
Godhead of Chaos and Godhead of Balance and the fact that he specifically uses godhead.
The tree in Storm's mind in giant size looks like a budding divine tree, something she would probably have to regrow in someways if her body dies and she has to start over.
Hickman saying something big is coming for Storm.
It doesn't feel like it was always intended but at some point it all fell together and they went for it. But again i'm just letting my mind wander.

life on one side and death on the other, equally balanced. somethings brewing.

its been long time coming. when was the last time an x-men story centered around ororo, maybe Claremont era? oh i xmen world apart and her solo would count.

UXM Storm gifts Vibrainium Blades to Warpath stating it was hers gifted to her by Tchalla.(this was before the marriage)
So I always assume any Vibrainium she has tchalla gave her.
I like to think all knives she pulls out are Vibrainium. I like to believe the first Vibrainium knife was gifted when they originally parted as teens . Tchalla obviously equipped with it for his walk-about, but gifted it to Ororo.
The same knife he whittled the flute he like to play for her .

Gosh if we get a Before the Storm Disney plus series.
I need their love story to be epic so when they breakup I can be truly devastated . Lol
