I think she has grown beyond this as seen in the ugh... space feat from coates. Being one of the first times she was off earth she experienced her power in a different way and didn't know she would have to adjust when she returned to the planet, she is fully aware of what happens now and imo will be prepared. Just think how many dimensions she was in in Sword of X with no problem.

Not to mention getting rid of crappy in laws. Shuri wanted to put her nose in Storm’s business but the whole planet was a stake. Storm, did not have time for any stupid drama. Shuri could have just let Storm take the sword and just explained to T’Challa. No one outside the royal family had to know.
And what kind of lame king T’Challa is that he would even let people put their two cents into a situation so dire?
Well we have to keep in mind that in story ororo has not accepted the full mantle of being a goddess. She has not yet accepted that which is her birthright so she wouldn't throw that in their faces to try and leverage an item of value from them, nor would that be in character. well scratch that if vita is writing her that would be something she would do my bad.
but the fact she would be ok with stealing, especially from those she loves and respects, even as an xman is a preposterous one:

That said, her being a god does not give her the authority to do whatever whenever she wants. Shuri even put Bast in her place when Bast had tried to make certain demands. So we have to look in story to what has occurred in Black Panther to determine what interactions make sense not Thor and gods that are worshipped for pillaging and warring.
Wakanda is not a patriarchal system its a monarchy (its more or less a tribunal now with the bp as the figurehead with modified authority) . And its based upon who wears the mantle who could be female or male. Past BPs including Shuri were female. Also, they said they would have given it to her but it was not their decision, it was up to Tchalla. Who actually made it back in well enough time to give it to her without her lying her way to stealing it.
I dont think he cared but it was about principles. As he told her he never knew her to be deceitful and that part was very true. There was no need for deception.
and regardless of how many times she has saved them it doesn't give her the right to stomp all over their traditions, customs, and sovereignty.
She did not deceive anyone. She was strait-forward in what she wanted. She did not wait him because the lives of everyone ok Earth was at stake.
There was no reason why they shouldn’t have just let her take the sword period and if Wakanda is not a patriarchy why didn’t Ramonda feel comfortable in giving her the sword herself? Why did Ramonda need to defer to T’Challa or wait days for his return, meanwhile Genesis/Annihilation would have invaded Earth.

Omg I came here thinking the thread was popping off because of some new Storm news. Instead it’s a rehash of a tired discussion lol. I guess it is a discussion thread .

Storm was finally shown as an assertive woman who will do what needs to be done. We have not seen her like this for ages in the X-books.
It’s worth discussing again and again!

Agreed. I loved the issue and think Vita wrote the story and characters extremely well. I've missed this Storm and we need a LOT MORE of her.
-
I hate that fockin' page and everything it insinuates. Xavier's shadyness. Storm's lack of trust. Lack of will. And her seeming ignorance that she is a trained thief.
Because that's all it does...insinuate. The writer just wanted to create drama where it's not necessary.
Ororo's speech-off sounds hollow given everything they've been through up to that point.
-
I mean, that's Lobdell's Storm for you. She lost most of a decade thanks to his bumbling.

Yup. He went out of his way to make Ororo less than. This is an example of limiting her telepathic immunity she gained which he also went after her powers with that dumb snow storm story in anartica.
I question any Storm fan using his writing as examples. But thats just me.

Oh wow issues 1-6 of marauders is being sold digitally on comixology for 3.99. If i didn't already have the first few trades which collects all the stories which i prefer i would have gotten it.
