Havok literally absorbs cosmic energy. He'd be more powerful out there

which xmen would be able to do this though?
of the main ones who could do this outside of ororo ee have jean. outside of that I'm not sure who could. the xmen generally dont come off to me as those types of characters which is why I've felt being on the these teams kinda limit what ororo should be capable of doing.
edit: I've thought of a couple of more. magneto (does polaris count?), rachel. these are about all I can think of outside of the exodus, Vulcan is type characters.
HONESTLY, Havok Is the ONLY one that comes to mind.
Yes, Vulcan and Magneto are good mentions. I would not count Rachel or Exodus. And Polaris? Poor Polaris that girl is EXTREMELY UNDERRATED it sucks.
But, I don’t care what other Mutants can do I’m talking about Storm!! LOL I want STORM(not Jean, Havok, Magneto, Vulcan) to go out into Space and manipulate Cosmic Energy like she already has.
Thank You :o

storm fans showed out on twitter today I was very happy with this. she went from 3rd to completely winning in less than an hr. I love us!!
our next battle and uphill one will be thor vs storm in the marvel rumbles.
I find Storm's elemental form interesting and it relates to what I was saying in the Jean thread about omega mutants. I think it would be interesting to see that some or all of the omega mutants have the ability to evolve or connect to external power sources. They seem to be implying that Franklin accesses a "godpower" in what we have read so far in X-men/Fantastic Four (things could change because the story isn't over yet). Storm has a potential to becoming an elemental being (from Ages of Apocalypse and other stories). Jean and Quire could still have their phoenix potential (and it could be tied to their omega status for telepathy), Magneto also has an elemental connection as does Iceman, etc.
This way the omega mutants can still be used as characters with unlimited potential for a big story when they have to evolve, but otherwise they would be at their normal powerful levels (being the highest level for their omega power category/classification). I mean it would be interesting to see Storm evolve into an elemental being but I wouldn't want her to stay that way.
if I not mistaken the God power was explained to be the source of all super powered beings abilities.

Oh Ok.
Yeah, I wouldn’t mind Storm becoming an Elemental. Why Not?
She can become: Water, Wind, Ice, Lightning, Solar Winds, Heat, Fog, Mist anything.
I just wanna see some growth in her powers. It’s good we God Goddess Storm, but we need a bit more.

I'm kinda torn between Infinity Gauntlet and Thor's hammer. BTW there are other options

See, that was the old school idea of Omegas(transcending their fleshy form, having infinite applications of their power, and precise control), and yeah, they should all do that. They all have kinda anyways in one random story or another, so just lean into it. I think they should fluctuate back and forth between flesh and blood and their energetic forms. If they are gravely injured in human form, if we want to impose some sort of limitation on them, we could say that it will take a while for them to repair their form, so they are at least 'stunned' and prevented from complete spammage in every fight, sort of like with the Crystal Gems how they need to revert to gem form sometimes to reset.
I would love a story where the X-men get to show off their cosmic muscles.
I'd love to see it too, even if only as a limited series of 6/12 issues. Ororo, Jean, Magneto, Exodus, Vulcan, Franklin, and Elixir jaunting around the universe, fighting Celestials, Galactus, and whoever else on a grand scale. Bring in the Shi'Ar/Kree/Skrull just for an audience, and let Hickman go wild!
I would be down for this.
that's actually what I was thinking would happen to save her from the virus as well.
It fits for her. The last time something tried to take over her body was the Broodling, and she turned into the brightest star in the galaxy to shed that one! Let's see if Hickman can exceed Claremont's?
Same here. I wanna see her strut her stuff when she's thrown into Space. Force her to work with the Energy and elements out there.
There is still so much earth weather they haven't touched(sprites and other upper atmospheric electrical phenomena, gamma ray bursts/anti-matter, clouds as natural particle accelerators, lightning as inducer of elemental transmutation, etc. ), but yes, the scale of the galactic would be incredible!

isnt the soul sword the thing magik uses? im not about feats for this but im sure she has done some impressive things with it. i thought the prop choices were kind of silly but so long as she doesnt have that stupid hammer I'm happy.

you're reading my mind. the solicit I think for the book is that she has to go to the far end of the world to save herself. space could be considered the far end of the world so maybe we somehow will get a galatic core like issue.

what do you think about krakoa leading? I was kinda wanting a sketch in space.

I voted Soul Sword and its winning. I wonder which one Storm will get though. The original or FFVII buster sword

I hope Storm's issue isn't a silent one. Dauterman's art was lovely, especially with that colorist, but I like words. Hickman writes words really well. Let him write some words, mayhaps?

EDIT: I just saw the poll ;) I went for Atlantis.

Once again, bangin job today #StormGang and all from here who voted Great practice for what will be a super uphill battle with Storm vs Thor on the Marvel Battle Rumbles any day now. Call up your friends and make your sacrifices to your Orisha because that is going to be a VERY hard win!
One thing we do know is that the votes for the Marvel Battle Rumbles are counted across Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. So be prepared to vote on all three platforms and inform others on them who will vote for her as well. We’ll need all the help we can get! #StormGang will persist tho. Here are the links to the three Marvel platforms where the votes will be counted. Facebook seems to get the overwhelming majority of votes.

I chose the Soul Sword in space! Something about Ororo wielding sharp, phallic objects as lightning rods just does it for me. Especially after that fight with Sinister and the Marauders where she looked killer with the spear!

I’m not a fan of Silent Comics.
When I heard GS: Jean/Emma was going to be silent I almost didn’t read it. Why read a Comic Book with no words?... Makes No Sense. But your right Dauterman is really good with his art. And I do like the way Hickman writes as well.

Marvel Entertainment is hosting a Battle Royale and it’s Storm vs Thor today. Win or lose, I’ll leave the link here in case anyone feels inclined to partake. Feats in that thread would also be welcome! At least we can educate the masses lol

Storm is being stomped, it is not a fair fight, while Thor is being well developed with his solos and cosmic power, Storm was having problems with street levelers. it has been a while since Base Storm has performed well against high-tiers.

Storm HAS the Fire Power.
It’s Just.......her durability Sucks. And your right Thor and many other Heroes get Upgrades every damn Decade and we are on the same Base Storm.
Our Hope relies on Coates and His Goddess Storm. Once he fleshes how powerful that Form is? We will finally get the Respect we’ve been fighting for.

yes being on the xmen with these current crop of writers is really limiting for the character. when you see storm getting dropped kicked in marauders as easily as she does it doesnt help that narrative.

I saw it. I commented on it. I Disagree. From what I’ve been reading and previous reads Thor doesn’t seem to be getting Jobbed that much.

well, her firepower isn’t having a good development recently by the X-Office, she needed two lightnings to get that guy out in Marauders, and the development with Coates is very slow and when it ends we don’t know if the X-Office will keep this development or just forgot how it happened before with Rogue Storm for example.

She gave that Guy a warning Shot in Marauders and told him her Main attack was still in the Clouds. So I’m fine with that. I agree Coates is slow with this development, but I’m confident we will get something good. After all he is really Adimantium in writing a Storm Solo.
So it’s coming. Development is coming for Storm. Especially in Giant Size: Storm.

Storm Fans if we are ANYTHING else we are a very PATIENT fanbase.
And another thing I’ve noticed about us Storm Fans is that we are not afraid to hit anyone with Facts.

even with his nerfs, Thor remains a more consistent and better developed character than Storm today who only serves to shoot lightnings without relevance, who does not have her powerset well explored, who is in a team just to fill space.

I'm on the side to believe Hickman will continue to expand upon the things coates has established. Coates' character Hodari was used by Hickman, and the imagery utilized in the giant sized issue seems to allude to her godhead but I absolutely agree with how she is handled within the xoffices, specifically marauders.

I think part of the issue in the Twitter battle is both sides are focusing too much on raw power and not enough on skill. Storm doesn’t need to be more powerful than Thor to apply internal manipulations to his bodily functions. In most instances I’d still give it to Thor (outside of h2h or her going internal she just doesn’t measure up feat wise at this point) but her skill and cunning should factor in, and nothing I’ve seen suggests it wouldn’t work. Storm wouldn’t try to overpower Thor. She’d focus on cunning, cheating (doing something he wouldn’t expect) and outsmarting him.

Windrider!!!! Hey!!!!!!!!!
So I think for me at least Hickman kinda reset the parameter on the order of their abilities even in terms of raw power. We haven't seen yet how in the xbooks post Hickman but if her limits could be surpassed by thor she technically wouldnt qualify as an omega.
I also agree with your point about skill. Nevertheless, I've seen scans of crystal using thors on weather storm against him and striking him down with lightning. if she can do this certainly an omega-level mutant goddess could right? lol

I agree. We are still early in Hickman’s run and haven’t seen him use Storm enough to know his take on her power level. And you’re right about the Omega definition. This could be a shifting in terms of her raw power + skill.
With Crystal, IIRC, she had Thunderstrike summon a bolt so she could direct it at someone (not Thor though).
