I can just read Emma saying something snarky and bitchy about the "vast emptiness" of Ororo's mind and Jean checking her in defense of her BFF. I. CAN'T. WAIT!!!!! for this to drop.

This is a great image. I'm thinking the tree may not necessarily supposed to be the one shown in the Shuri mini. I think it could just as likely be a baobab tree in general, since those trees are referred to as Africa's "Tree of Life." That kind of symbolism makes a lot of sense for the character of Ororo, even without going into her godhead. I'm unsure if Hickman will go too deeply into her goddess powers, other than acknowledging them. I think he might also note how she is careful to suppress them, as not to do too much damage. Whatever he does, I think he'll make sure he doesn't paint himself into the "if she's a powerful goddess, how come she never/rarely uses her powers when he writes her." Yeah, if he touches her godhood, Hickman will give himself an out for him having not written her as an obvious goddess.

shes on the quiet council which is a governing body on krakoa.
she, at times, welcomes back the resurrected
and she is kittys babysitter on the maurader.
she st times supports cyclops on missions too.

She leading all of Mutantdom via Government of the quiet council.
She is High Priestess of Krakoa via Resurection System.
She is taking it back old school and dispensing justice all over the globe and rescuing refugees ,While being support for Kitty.
While still doing high-end mission that one can not be called XMen work nor Boarders X-Force stuff but I chose to view it as Public Krakoa Mission . If the island were to last mission that would obviously be in the history book.

Agreed. The X-men have fought the Avengers and the Inhumans already, so I'd much rather see them working with other Marvel teams/heroes. I hope Storm's relationship with the FF gets some positive focus.

Your response brought something to my attention. You said the X-Men fought The Inhumans and Avengers and now they are about to scuffle with the FF. Do you and does anyone notice the trend here???? In every VS it was the X-Men that became Bad Guys regardless of their pure intentions. I think the MU as a whole are not Pro-Mutant.
Anyway, that was a side Conversation. Um yes your right. I rather see them work together instead of being at each other throats. I just can’t help it but feel that the X-Men are the bad guys YET AGAIN.

This trend is getting played out. I don't want the X-men/mutants being antagonists. I would prefer a nice team-up story where the X-men and Fantastic Four have to work together.

Same for me. TBH, I won't be surprised if it gets completely ignored. I really hope Storm is portrayed well at the very least, but I'm not holding my breath.
Also, do y'all remember a few years back when the X-men each had their own squad of students and Nezhno was on Storm's squad? What other x-teens do you all think would be a nice fit on Storm's student squad? It doesn't have to be from that era only, but rather from that era on to the present.

Nice images. I like that this artist takes the time to actually give each character, especially the women, their own distinct facial features. I hope this issue brings some positive/well-written portrayals for Storm. I'm ok with Jean and the other girl appearing, but I don't want them to steal the show.

i love how she is outselling even asleep, goddess things, ororo should always be this tone or darker, dauterman;s storm is wonderfull.
but also I was feeling that way until i saw the tree and the crown above it, its a clear reference to the silent issue in new x-men and that was pretty massive for xavier.

Emma looks so disrespectful drinking over what, sadly, looks like Ororo's dead body. Ororo looks beautiful. I agree with the other posters who think Ororo, even "asleep" looks better than Jean and Emma. Those high cheekbones are the thing.

In Morrison's New X-Men, his issue featured Jean and Emma going inside Xavier's mind and learning the truth about Cassandra Nova. It was a great issue filled with symbolic imagery inside his mindscape.

emma is and will always be disrespectful to ororo as shes intimidated by her beauty and power. it will be interesting to see how this ends. will ororo have issue with emma once again entering her mind even if it is to help.

What a great catch. The artist definitely took heavily from this page with the placement of the three women, even including Emma and her flask. Smh. Love how Jean and Emma are giving each other the side eye.
