I don’t want to derail the thread any longer but Dev and I can just agree to disagree on what we find important to call out. That’s fine. I’m still going to call bs when I see it from the X-office.

I remember when Hudlin wrote this issue. I won't lie, it made little sense for the skrulls to take on the image of MLK and X. I did like his nod to the civil rights leaders but them, along with the skrull gangstas made for a strange arc.
Good points. I always take a "wait-and-see" approach with the X-titles, especially when it comes to Storm. Writers, editors, etc. can say whatever they want about her, but until I see it committed to the comic panels I remain skeptical.
I also would like to see Kymera return and have more of her history/story explored. I want her and Storm to have a positive relationship with one another. I felt their previous dealings with each another were very lackluster/under-whelming. I also think Kymera had a cool look. It wasn't anything over-the-top but it still worked:

The striped panther-avatar was pretty cool too.
That’s exactly how I’m starting to react just wait rather than get my hopes up. I really feel like they dropped the ball with Kymera and wanted them to explore her a bit more give us an insight into what her powers where and a definite on whom her parents where. I did want her and Storm to interact a bit more as well and the panther was cool which made me think he father was TChalla. Am I the only one who remembered Watcher saying they were going to have powerful children like why didn’t they expunge on that more.

Their children where in the "Black to the Future" annual and the 2018 Annual.

It was originally a Fantastic Four story, so strange comes with it. lol

If she does ever come back I really want for her and Storm to have a loving relationship with one another. Storm meeting her own child should have been a bigger deal IMO. I hope T'Challa is her father and would like for her to meet him too.
What's your favorite rare Storm power? I like her hydrokinesis and her control of cosmic phenomena
her immense control to cause small effects at the micro level, subtle bad assery is underrated
What's your favorite rare Storm power? I like her hydrokinesis and her control of cosmic phenomena
I like when she does the internal manipulation of her opponents insides. removing air from lungs, shutting down brain, freezing blood vessels are things I wish I could see more of but understandably she doesnt do this because she tends to not be bloodlusted.
You just feel Xavier and Magneto here.
yup lol.. if I had to choose a side I probably would hsve chosen magneto. turning the cheek gets old after awhile.

indeed it was strange and seemed very random but it was cute.

Hmmm lol on the bold.
Well I would argue that she doesn't need to be bloodlusted to do it. She removed the air from the lungs of the Wakandan soldier, to Scarlet Spider and threatened to do it to Kraven in that horrendous BP in Hell's Kitchen relaunch. And crambled Sinister's brain (knowingit would effectively incapacitate him vs kill him. I think this should definitely be explored more. I'll also like to see more refined and defensive application of her air, pressure and atmospheric electrical & EM energy manipulation (not extra lightning bolts -__-.... but a polarity shield, polarity manipulation, more EMPs, etc).

to your point, I though t the encounter with the soldier and scarlet spider she was bloodlusted if not fiercely angry over them trying to kill nehzno and logans death respectively. I don't recall the kraken issue what happened there when she threatened him?
and the stuff you mentioned should be some of the ish we should be seeing in mauraders considering she is an omega but she been too busy shooting lightning.
since her hydrokinesis is canonicaly complex to emulate a face, her ice control is probably refined, far more that just raining ice with wind she can control said ice when its down, turn into water, mist, the whole thing.

yes. that feat was so sweet. there is no way she shouldnt be doing more with waree in all its variations.
bobby is a disapointment anyways, and the x-men dont really have a relevant hydrokinetic(at least that I recall), id kill for some issues of just wind and water
Storm's showing in today's BP is limited. Coates has spread the issue, focusing a bit on T'Challa while giving Shuri nice page time as general. There's some Manifold and Bast scenes. Shuri and Bast have a great exchange at the beginning, which I loved. I think Shuri has a great showing in this issue.
Here are the pages with Storm. Again, Coates acknowledges her godhood but also her physical limitations. It's a good connection to her exhaustion expressed in the X-Men from her tireless efforts. It's also, IMO, a nice and easy out, so that other characters are spotlighted in the Wakanda war and it isn't about using the Hadari Yao to swoop in and save the day.

I have no idea how to enlarge the images. Maybe it's small because I took a screenshot from my cell phone of the comic from my Amazon app?? Actually, I thought it was a good issue. Anyone looking for an all BP issue will be disappointed. But I thought Coates did a good job giving different players panel time.

it's ok no worries. I know some of his fans may have issue with coates writing but I like that he writes tchalla and how all relevant players impact wakanda and not solely tchalla. I could see how some may have issue with that but I dont think it realistic to expect tchalla to do everything on his own. his baby ororo is going to help, his sister will help, and so will other people of power within wakanda. that to me makes sense.
that said I'm glad coates is starting to explain the limitations of her abilities I cant wait to read the issue to see how all of what you said is explained.

I don't even bother getting hard copies anymore. I just buy mine from Amazon and call it a day. I also agree with your point about BP. I like that Coates has given BP a strong supporting cast. It makes sense with him being the leader of a country. That's what you see in this issue, IMO. He can't and doesn't have to do everything. No leader does. Leaders rely on others, in many different ways. I do, however, agree with Coates detractors who complained about the sex camps. I eventually got around to reading a couple of those issues with the sex camps and they were disgusting. I didn't see a point to that subplot. Wakandans don't have to be perfect. Indeed, I don't think they were ever portrayed that way, but to have them engage in such acts and right under the nose of the ruling family, was pretty awful.
Anyway, we'll talk more after you and others have had a chance to read the issue.

agreed with all of your points about leaders. to the rape camps I personally didnt find it in poor taste. there are horrific things that happen in ameri a (human trafficking, for example) but those who engage in that activity in america doesnt reflect on the values and the ideals that America is built upon. That is how I look to that. it draws attention to the really dark places that humanity can go but I dont in alway think that the behavior of a few men represent the values of the totality of wakanda.

I read it and kitty was too reckless it caught up with her.
bp however was really good!! I loved how njadaka recognized ororo for the threat she is. I do think he is underestimating her in what her limits are. he has yet to see her true power.

Yes, N'Jadaka certainly gave Ororo, oops nope, the Hadari Yao her props. That's saying something considering his level of arrogance. What do you think of the interchange between Shuri and Bast?
I hope these four actually get some panel time.

IMO, Shuri had a good showing. Not as a hero but as a leader and general.
That's a really lovely variation on how she wears her head-piece...sans ponytail. I hope I get to see that in the X-books, sometime.
Maybe Sebastian Shaw isn't so bad after all
Yes, N'Jadaka certainly gave Ororo, oops nope, the Hadari Yao her props. That's saying something considering his level of arrogance. What do you think of the interchange between Shuri and Bast?
Yes. I didnt even realize N'Jadaka was aware of Ororo. It would appear at some point she is going to be targeted.
As for Shuri and Bast, I loved their interaction. Shuri was straightforward and didnt hold back in making Bast aware the wakandans didnt need her. Bast tried to flex her powers but shuri correctly called her out for them not needing her. It was a very powerful exchange.
Ororo, the Hadari Yao, is given much respect. We should see something from her as the war heats
yes I loved the acknowledgement of the power she possesses. this would indicate that for njadaka assault to be successful the key to winning would require him focusing on taking her out. this is going to get good.
