The only nasty hatred I've seen has been from people
A. Insulting anyone who isn't thrilled about this book
and
B. People hoping it does well out of spite.

Boycott "Children of the Atom"

It's like poetry.
Why? Nobody is saying anything bad about them or their writing.

the writer is a no one,
so y’all really aren’t reading each other’s comments or?
speak for yourself because i have been apreciating and buying/will buy for that reason, and i do want loa/gentle/oya/surge/dust and everyone in their own title because I miss their team, I want them to evolve into their own.
and its anoying that marvel releases anything but a second chance for that team and generation, but somehow wants me to belive these new ones will be anything difrent?
All I’ve heard were complaints that Hill should’ve used someone else or crying that Leah didn’t pick up Hellion. So my response didn’t come out of nowhere.

I will say that these chimeras are better than having Rasputin do the annoying trope where a character comes from the future for no interesting reason.

She comes from one of Moira's Past's futures...specificity is important.
“We really need more diversity in the X-books!”
*CotA gets announced*
“I have to conscientiously boycot this book because it’s disrespectful towards the New X-Men, a series that was cancelled 12 years ago”

Y’all didn’t even appreciate Bling! on Fallen Angels and now Prodigy on X-Factor. The diversity in the New X-Men is just performative talking points because if Hellion and X-23 shared a title together, I’m sure a lot of fans wouldn’t be clamoring for wherever Loa or Gentle may be.
The tea.
and promote them in spite of the nearly 30 teen characthers to be used, saying they are the best ever and even have them get special treatment from the older mutants, yea...
Woe is the plight of the New X-Man fan.
These are the characters Vita wanted to write for the story they wanted to craft. I'm certain if this cast was filled with characters from 'Academy X' they wouldn't be treated as accomplished enough given their experience and now that new characters are in their steed, it is similarly not good enough before we have anything to go on beyond a few blurbs and a couple of variant covers.
I'm respecting Vita's craft, not only as a queer POC X-Men writer (because that is HUGE) but also they've proven themselves on other titles. The New X-Men not getting used has nothing to do with 'CoTA' especially since Prodigy, Bling!, and Eye Boy have already gotten post-grad jobs in other titles.

couldn’t dream of saying it better myself. I think you touched literally every problem I have with the premature reception this book’s getting.
we quite literally have received nothing more than a purposefully brief press release and 2 covers.....all the anger stems from pure speculation
we’re finally getting diversity not only in the books but behind them. this is what we’ve wanted. obviously if the books wank they wank no matter who wrote them; but know that by making the conscious choice to label a book a flop before more than 3 sentences and 2 covers have been unveiled, the message is sent that a range of diverse voices will not sell. don’t give them that chance. judge the work on its quality when you’re actually presented with the work.

Just put Surge and Hellion in cheap Magneto and Wolverine cosplays and patch them in. This will satisfy all parties. I expect my check in the mail.

You do realize that no, that's not the message it sends. The message being sent is literally "Stop making all these new teen mutants, we want the ones we keep telling you we want back in their own book. All these new ones just end up wallpaper and its tiring."
