If there is 1 thing the WW fam isnt lacking in right now..it's diverse costumes as opposed to the Super-fam.
By the way: I just received The DC Book of Pride: A Celebration of DC's LGBTQIA+ Characters and Wonder Woman isn't listed as one of them.
Just more proof that Diana being bi is just lip service from DC.

Not that diverse. All of them have the same color scheme with the exception of Donna and Artemis.
Btw, it's cool to have the GA and SA omnibuses confirmed for august.
It's the worst WW run ever published, but some guys here are hardcore colectionists, ahem, ahem

The Diana Prince era is way worse if you ask me. I hope the Bronze Age stories will get collected soon. That's literally the only worthwhile Pre-Crisis stuff aside from Marston.

While everyone looks great, Donna really stands out in that beautiful pic! So well drawn and colored, the silver is Wonderful!

Plus Hippolyta in all white
Not that diverse. All of them have the same color scheme with the exception of Donna and Artemis.
None of their outfits look the same. There is no way to mistake one for another. Diana is primarily red w/skirt. Artemis black fully covered. Lizzie blue fully covered. Nubia has light blue but primarily showing her armor.
None of them are in primarily red like Diana.
also Yara has a very different way of combining red and blue than Diana.

Meh. If you ask me, the spy era is way better than everything that came after it just for having a better solid artist behind and a Kelly Sue article talking about it.
The 1972-1986 comics will be bought by mysef once DC starts reediting them, but it was for the most part a lot of retellings of the WW2, more Kanigher, and some decent Thomas issues in the sense that at least had some purpose behind.
Just reading what Mindy Newell said about her experience in the last issues tells me a lot about how those runs were edited.

Oooh, fun game.
Mine:
Nubia
Diana
Yara
Donna (if they'd brought the halterneck back with the starfield she'd be #1)
Artemis
Lizzie
Cassie
Honestly the only ones I'm not crazy about are Lizzie's (which I think will grow on me) and Cassie's. The others are all fantastic.
My ranking:
- Diana
- Yara
- Nubia
- Donna
- Artemis
- Lizzie
- Cassie
Thing about Cassie's current look is I like the idea of it--they're just clothes she threw together that seem vaguely Wonder-eque--but the execution is too busy. Past iterations of this concept were done better.

Cassie’s I like the idea and “civie superhero outfit” fits her but as said above, it’s been done better.
Not to sure Lizzie’s, it’s fine but I’m not a fan of Yara’s so maybe the similarities are what put me off it. Too busy in both instances imo

It's definitely not Cassie's best costume.

Hm.
Diana
Yara
Artemis
Lizzie
Nubia
Donna

If they got rid of those big white stars, and gave her back her choker, Donna would be one or two.
Donna

Yara

I like Yara's outfit, Problem is its on Yara. Nubia without the cape is near perfect.
Do we know everything that will be in WW 800? Is it a bunch of artists and writers doing short stories?
(Hoping for something Jimenez)

Unsure...Its listed as a 48 page issue and every source I can find has for writers: Cloonan, Conrad, and King.
For artists not counting the cover it lists: Joelle Jones, Todd Nauck, Jen Bartel, and Daniel Sampere.
My guess is that issue 800 will give us two or three more of these dream sequences (one of which with Yara, another probably with Cheetah) before wrapping up its story. Then it will lead into Tom Kings future forward probably.
Mark Waid said he's not interested in writing characters like Wonder Woman despite liking her because he's more of a science guy and can't connect with mythologies the same way... rolleyes

Ahhh. Thanks! I was hoping for more of a mix of stories and eras but I guess not.
Did anyone see the Kelly Sue Deconnick interview?
Did anyone see the Kelly Sue Deconnick interview?
Yes, I posted about it in the Historia thread.
Apparently Cheetah, Artemis, Hippolyta, Nubia, and Bia are all in the new DC Pride book.

I'm not that into the CheetahxEtta romance myself. Although it's kind of funny to think she hooked up with Zoom at one point :p.

Wait, there is a romance brewing between Cheetah and Etta?
Don't look at me - I just found out Io and Nubia were a thing!

Artemis? Am I missing something? Is it just because she is an amazon? Because it makes sense, but doesn't Diana have far more hints at being queer?
Wait, there is a romance brewing between Cheetah and Etta?
When Greg Rucka was writing Wonder Woman Rebirth he intended for Cheetah and Etta to get together, but that didn't happen.(probably due to editorial). Black Etta is shown to be with a woman in one of the latest Wonder Woman issues. I consider the original Etta and Black Etta to be to different characters. As for Cheetah, I don't see her as an LGBTQ character and don't like the CheetahxEtta pairing.

True, but that's only because she's been around longer than Artemis.

"The original Etta and Black Etta."
Something about the way that's phrase doesn't sit right with me.
If you had said "the original Etta and the contemporary Etta" or The white Etta and the Black Etta" then I would have understood.
But the fact that you only singled out the race of the Black character--I don't know what your intention was, but I know how it makes me feel.

Barbara and Etta getting together did happen.
Instead I get the vibe that Rucka wanted to do Diana/Barbara, but editorial said no, so Etta was the compromise.

It's the primary distinguishing trait of the revamped version....
