Another young Diana story! Looks adorable :).
Who needs Jumpa when you can have a goat :p.

I wondered if this was a sequel to another one that had been released a few years ago.

looks cute! Getting the very young ones into Diana.

While the complete reboot of WW post-COIE was GREAT and AMAZING, it sucks that it forced 2 of her characters to be soft-rebooted to disinclude her in their ongoing titles. Fury getting a brand new mother and Donna getting yet another origin. WW always gets caught up in these things.

By Grace Ellis????? Truly would not expect that considering her most recent project was a (really great) graphic biography of Patricia Highsmith but sign me up. And the synopsis sounds delightful.

Yeah, and they must be doing pretty well if they keep making them so you'd think they'd fast-track an animated series...

Lil Diana and her Wondrous Adventures!

If Everything Happened, then....is Donna still ultimately a mirror twin of Diana altered and forced into independent development due to Dark Angel and the infinite time loop thing? And...what of Artemis? Her recent special had what I thought was some kind of attempt at a new origin?

The point of everything happened is that the world was restarted several times, and some characters remember everything.

So...does Diana know she died in COIE and then reborn in the 80s...?
I find all this confusing.

Yeah, it's pretty dumb. No getting around that.

Dumb?
You guys think "if only DC rewrote Diana's history just one more time, I'm sure this once they would get all of it right"

"Everything Happened just like actual comics history, and some characters remember"
Either you guys believe DC comics is a villain trying to ignore everything that's good about Wonder Woman, or you don't.
And if you do, then why do you think if DC decided create a brand new timeline, they would do everything you guys want them to do?

It is dumb. The only reason there is this everything is canon approach since IF is because DC wanted to reuse 5G stories that would have taken place at different times in DC history, which explains why Diana is even less affected by this story telling approach than other characters. She was taken out of 5G by ascending. Let's not pretend DC thought this through in the slightest or thought it enhances their IPs.

The way DC treats Wonder Woman is like they are the supervillain. The everything that happened approach is simply dumb. They have multiple earths, yet they decide that whatever has happened through umpteenth reboots and the like is valid for these particular heros because they have no editorial control over their writers.
Face it, dumb is just a polite way of saying how they totally screwed up their own storytelling universe!

Yep, dumb. Diana remembers when she was a 60s spy one day, then an ambassador, then a fastfood worker, while one day remembering when Etta was a white woman in WW2 but now it's modern times and she's black while Steve is still also young and didn't fight in WW2 despite Diana remembering meeting him in WW2 or that other time they first met when he was 40 and she was 20.

Yeah, but none of that is really true Gaius. When has she ever remembered or much less mentioned her past lives in anything more than a very vague way?
-
Yeah, but none of that is really true Gaius. When has she ever remembered or much less mentioned her past lives in anything more than a very vague way?
Yes, because in addition to being mind-numbingly dumb, it's irrelevant because they evidently had no plans for WW beyond "she ascended".
-
Why have a plan when you can just wing it and confuse everyone in the process? :p
-
Suppose we'll know for sure in an hour but word on the street is that the big WW project getting announced today is a TV show rather than a rebooted movie.
My first instinct is to feel like it's a downgrade (especially because other than Peacemaker all of the DC shows have been low-budget CW nonsense), but if we're talking a show with GoT/TLOU/Wandavision-level talent and budget that'll tie into the main universe later? That's pretty much the best case scenario as a fan, lets them explore her world a lot more and tell bigger stories. Or maybe it'll be an animated series announcement. Either way, pretty exciting if the rumor is true.

AMAZONS PREQUEL SERIES!!!!! High fantasy series!!! Described as Game of Thrones with Amazons!!!!

(I know people are gonna be disappointed but I'm guessing more WW announcements will come later this year, after Gal makes her last appearance - still, Gunn DID mean it when he said he loved Historia!)
-
This is certainly big news!
I hope it's not too beholden to the previous films though. I don't want the Amazons bring created by Zeus and not involvement from the Gods. Historia needs to be the big blueprint
-
While im glad to get an Amazons series. No WW is still a big letdown considering we're getting 2 bat films, superman and supergirl movies
-
The lack of Diana herself is disappointing, though I guess there's a video game coming. Still waiting for an animated series, even more so than a movie reboot.
-
So, we're back to a planned Amazon TV series. Okay.
If it's based mainly on Historia, it might be good. If it takes more cues from the Azzarellazons, then we're screwed.
No word on Wonder Woman's future. Not even a confirmation if Gal Gadot is sticking around or not.
Otherwise, nothing of interest. I guess the good news for me is I don't have to pay attention to DCU movies/shows for the foreseeable future. One less thing to worry about.
-
So it seems like the idea is that Gal could come back but it doesn't seem like they have firm present-day Wonder Woman plans...hence the prequel series.
I guess this show will really tackle the idea that Themyscira was a Paradise if they're going the Game of Thrones route, but I hope they don't dwell too much on it and just have the Amazons sniping at each other and manipulating each other instead of...y'know, being a positive and idealized take on a society of women because men can't grasp that. But that just might be me assuming the worst.
-
The lack of Diana herself may just be so they can wait until Gal is firmly out the door before they decide what to do next.
I feel like us having to wait on that, but getting the Amazons in the interim, is a solid compromise. Provided if course we get some proper Amazons
If they pull from the wrong source, I take back any positive sentiment
-
Glad to hear some Amazon news and new show. I will give it a chance.
-
I don't think GoT should have anything to do with Amazons, I don't even understand why you would compare one thing to the other, so no, I'm not excited.

That's definitelt not true. Future State didn't mention "everything happened".

History was rewritten many times. I experienced many lives. How are these concepts complicated? Specially for a character based in fantasy and godly intervetions?

I wouldn't get too hung up on that. "Game of Thrones" has been used as part of the elevator pitch/surface description of just about any vaguely prestige television show for about the past decade.

My thoughts exactly. Sorry to be Negative Ned but personally I despise GoT and I hate how other franchises keep getting polluted by it.

So we get the long-anticipated Gunnverse announcement, and of course we get firm news about Batman, Superman, and...Supergirl? Yikes. Hard pass for me.
Of course I will watch the amazons show and hope for the best, but how in the eff do you concoct a DC Comics multi-media universe without its biggest female character (that also happens to be one of its three most iconic characters, period)?

The most insulting part is how Gunn begins, saying: “One of our strategies is to take our diamond characters — which is Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman — and we use them to prop up other characters that people don’t know." Then he proceeds to tell us how Batman and Superman will be starring in films, but Wonder Woman will not be. Batman and Superman get to be in their films. Wonder Woman gets to be only a "prop."

He has to be joking with this right? Surely?
So how many releases are you looking at per year?
Safran: Probably two movies and probably two HBO Max series.
Are these 10 projects everything in chapter one?
Safran: We haven’t announced everything in chapter one. There’s some stuff that comes beyond this. So let’s just say it just it’s too early to talk about that, but it becomes very clear what the story is.
Gunn: This is half of it.
2 movies per year? And they announced 6 movies? That's a bit ridiculous imo. Should at least be 3. 2 DC Studio movies and an Elseworlds movie in between.
That would mean no Wonder Woman movie until 2028. Which is 100% unacceptable.
He also commented on the 2 WW movies
And we have Wonder Woman and we have Wonder Woman [1984], which doesn’t even match what happened in Wonder Woman one.
An Amazon prequel series, but it's "Game of Thrones" like?
