Doubt.
Isn't she besties sometimes with Cheetah?
And Cheetah works best as someone who can't be redeemed.
Something DC seems to think you can do with Clown Lady.

DC currently is fine with Cheetah being a grey character despite working best as a villain. So basically this isn't new territory for Diana
-
It wouldn't surprise me if it goes like Secret Six or Grudge Match where they're several outclassed and only Barda can really hold her own.

Yes, unfortunately Diana having to interact and be BFFS with an utter black hole of entertainment like Clown Lady because they're both women isn't new territory.

Nothing good happens when Diana appears outside her own title.
Harley's just going to it worse, like she does with everything.

Do Wonder Woman fans think having a super-powered male supporting character is a detriment to the IP? I'm honestly genuinely curious. How would you want him to be and act around the WW family?

Most fans that I've seen are in agreement that we are all for a super-powered male super character (most likely a Wonder Boy), but not a male character who is considered her equal or even more powerful than her (we're looking at you, Jason).

I just now realized the context of this scene is from Superman/Batman where Supergirl got kidnapped by Darkseid. Damn no wonder Supes is pissed here.

Yes, true. Kal is more out-of-character because of that. He wants to go after Kara NOW. Barda said to wait a moment.

Old Handbook lists Barda as 6'2", newer volume holds to 6'2", I see other references to 7'. Artistic License.

I don't think it's something WW really needs but I don't theoretically have a problem with it. I wouldn't a new version of Achilles.
Jason's core problem, on top of everything else, was he was both a horrible cliché (long lost twin) and inserted into Dians's core origin.

Also, to be a biological brother he had to be tied to the Daddy Zeus origin.

This WW fan would love seeing thematically relevant male guests once in a while (say, Rama, the Olympian [the Global Guardians' Aristides Demetrios, not Achiles Warkiller], and especially Bobby Barnes as Wonderboy). I would certainly love if Barnes were turned into a permanent supporting player in the WW book...

I don't think we'll be seeing Rama again. Bobby has a chance, however small of returning. Personally, I'd like him to be a mage but that's only because I think Diana could use more of those among her allies.
-
So far, Rama and Siggy are my favorite supporting male characters. They represent the non-Greek mythologies, so they add something of their own without stepping on Diana's toes. Achilles wasn't bad either. He fits well with Diana's themes as an atypical male hero, whose divinity comes from his mother and whose most famous relationship is with another man.
-

Okay this gave me a thought, I'm curious on a hypothetical note, what if Hippolyta decided to have another kid? Like she makes another clay baby after Diana?
-
Okay this gave me a thought, I'm curious on a hypothetical note, what if Hippolyta decided to have another kid? Like she makes another clay baby after Diana?
Not exactly the same thing, but I'd love to have Nubia's original origin restored as a twin of Diana's, also made from clay.
-
I am not interested in having a "Wonder Man" in the family, I prefer, as some said, that they are related characters and that they appear from time to time. Siggy is by far the best male character in the Wonder Woman pages since Rama. The rest were missed opportunities: Achilles, the possible Wonder Bobby Barnes and even Nemesis who functioned as a Steve Trevor with more super abilities.
Obviously, if you ask me, I prefer that we see Diana's relationships with her Wonder Girls, Nubia, Artemis, Grace Choi, Peng Deilan, Hessia, and all the Amazons they want to include in different stories.
Okay this gave me a thought, I'm curious on a hypothetical note, what if Hippolyta decided to have another kid? Like she makes another clay baby after Diana?
I believe that the event of Diana's birth has to be unique in the history of the Amazons, the possibility of molding new babies and that the godesses give them life should not be something common on the Island.
I think that the arrival of new souls in the well gives the possibility that babies and young girls are reincarnated in Themyscira and that they are adopted and cared for by different Amazons, Hyppolita herself could take care of her a few.
I also like the possibility that some girls from the patriarchal world come to the island to live and be trained to become Amazons.
Obviously, as in the "real world", there would be a great diversity in terms of power on the island: we would have a unique and all powerful amazon (Diana) other amazons with many superhuman abilities (Hyppolita, Antiope, Phillipus, and all the "originals" reincarnated), others that acquire powers by various situations such as Donna (Titans of Myth) Nubia (Overexposure to the Dooms Doorway) Artemis (Artifacts of power, magic), etc., demigoddesses like Cassie and Yara, others related to other myths and others run-of-the-mill humans with Batfamily-type hand-to-hand combat abilities.

Kelly Thompson is one of maybe 5 outspoken WW nerds in comics and she's been itching to write her for years. I think she's in good hands.
And I was already looking forward to this BoP run but those covers have me psyched. Diana vs. Barda! Those Perez curls!!
Do Wonder Woman fans think having a super-powered male supporting character is a detriment to the IP? I'm honestly genuinely curious. How would you want him to be and act around the WW family?
Not inherently. If they're interesting and work thematically, I'm cool with it. Achilles was cool because his arc was all about him realizing the ails of the patriarchy and deciding he didn't want to be complicit. Bobby Barnes could've been great. Siggy was a lot of fun. The problems only emerge when male characters (super-powered or otherwise) are emphasized at the expense of Diana or her relationships with other women.
Jason's issue wasn't being a super-powered man; he was just downright offensive to both the character and the reader's intelligence. He undermines all of the central feminist themes of the lore (for many reasons), he was most prominently used in a terrible run that centered his story at Diana's expense, his origin makes Hippolyta look terrible, the "secret twin brother" thing is a truly stupid cliché...really, just read Perez's run or Historia and you'll understand why he's such an awful idea. And who in their right mind thinks it's a good idea to give Wonder Woman a twin brother who's more powerful than her?

Plus, Diana can mention on occasion the "Wonder Man" from that other Marvelous Universe that she beats annually in arm-wrestling contests! :p

I never knew that. I always thought she was a hardcore Marvelite (but that's probably because she's been writing Marvel for so long).
All the same she's outspoken about never wanting to screw over anyone's fave so I doubt Diana comes off looking badly in this. She's far from a Taylor/Waid/Johns.

Huh wonder if you could just change Jason's origin into him being a twin clay baby instead of a bio kid then.

Do you mean like, the baby was meant to be a girl, but when Hippolyta laid the baby on the ground, a small extra piece of clay clung to a certain region and it became a he as in Jason?
