TBT to WW in Smallville

They change things up a bit. Steve crashes on the island, he/Diana crush on one another, Hippolyta takes him back to Mans World and never returns, Diana leaves the island looking for her mother and reconnects with Steve. Diana isnt the only child but youngest.
I didn't remember how much WW sucked under the hands of ross. Damn he couldn't write her even if his life depended on it. He gave Cheetah a great look. But his Disana sucks big time. She was a pushoever in the whole series.
Sigh. Here too?
-
So...slight spoilers, some speculation...but it looks like when the Justice League "dies" next month, they're actually getting sent to their own personal "ideal" world. And presumably, that will mean Dark Crisis will be partially about getting them back and some of them not wanting to leave their dream world.
WandaVision in other words.
Sooooo...what are we figuring Diana's "perfect world" will look like, and will she be one of the heroes that doesn't want to give it up? And how much you want to wager anything we could come up here will be far more interesting than what Williamson will give her?
Hmmmm, didn't Wonder Woman just get sent to her "perfect world" a few issues ago in her own comic? (and not buy into it for one second)
Was that a build-up to this I wonder.

Yo guys. I was reading a Grant Morrison blogpost which mentioned that the new OMAC has a backstory connected to Paradise Island. This OMAC is a Transmasculine corporate superhero franchise run by a security firm, enhanced and operated by Brother Eye tech. A basic human tank with Organic/tech enhancements that give the already physically powerful OMAC access to Hulk-level strength.
Introduced in the "Superman and the Authority" mini and currently appearing in the fantastic Action Comics run by Philip Kennedy Johnson. Do you think it would be cool to see this character appear in the wonder world? I think there are a lot of cool things here that could add to the Wonderverse.

Given the kind of pull Morrison has im assuming any backstory he wants for the character will automatically become canon.
I confess I don't really have an opinion about the newest OMAC. All I know about the character is that their dating the Earth-9 Flash
-
For one thing, this version of OMAC might show us the implications that Paradise Island might have to the greater world of the DC universe, which I think is really cool. I mean, a whole civilization made of amazons must create various movements and iniciatives, both in support of and against. In this case maybe it's about weaponizing those female ideals.
The fact that it's a technological character tied to the Wonder mythos is also really cool. Plus it's a character that challenges plenty of gender norms, which is something the world of Wonder Woman really needs more of.
-
I'm always down for adding to the mythos just as long as it finds a way to the main title

Im reminded somewhat of Mercy Graves who had been both established to be one of the Bana Amazons and also a cyborg

Did they mention how exactly this character is connected to Themyscira?
-
Nope not yet. I think it's something Grant shared with the current writer of Action Comics so it can be used later on.
And I'd really love it for that backstory to be revealed asap and for OMAC to enter the Wonderverse.

Lol I wish. Funnily enough the end of the Mod Era brings in Nubia and has WW forget who she is w/The Amazons mysteriously back to save her.

Crisis on Infinite Earths. Infinite Crisis. Final Crisis.
And now…Dark Crisis!
The epic event years in the making is finally here! Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and the rest of the Justice League are dead. The remaining heroes are left to protect the world from an onslaught of violent attacks by DC’s greatest villains! Can the legacy heroes step out of the shadows of the classic heroes to form a new Justice League? And will that be enough to stop a darkness greater than anything they’ve ever faced from destroying everything?
Don’t miss out on the first issue of the blockbuster event of the summer!
Re-reading the 2006 WW first few issues....which WW interpretation of Hercules do you prefer? The villain, the hero, the redeemed hero

Redeemed by centuries of character development
By that I mean not a punishment that is vague or unseen such as being petrified for eternity, but more like... he's been the one protecting Paradise Island by fighting the monsters endlessly behind the hell gate, as part of his atonement, and so when the Amazons see him and forgive him, it's earned. He ruined their lives, but now he's keeping them safe. Like that.
After that, he became a recurring helpful supporting cast like the gods, so his character and point of view develop alongside all of them in the present years
-
Villainous Hercules depictions aren't particularly common so I think it's more interesting to go with a villainous one, which helps given WW's whole basis is a perspective flip on one of his labors.
I thought redeemed Hercules in Perez's run was fine but him also getting in a relationship with Hippolyta is probably the most dated aspect of that run.
-
Is the Hercules attacking Hippolyta still cannon now?
-
I prefer him as he was, a complicated character that in some ways was heroic and in others villainous. Trying to push him any which way is generally less interesting.
But I've always thought Hercules is generally an asshole.

I wish we could get more of Fury

I liked her until she became "good" and got that ugly Wonder Woman costume. Don't remember all the particulars but didn't she clone more Amazons or something? Earth 2 started so strong though, it was cool that Diana was first and subsequent heroes were called "wonders".

Sorry, if I'm misunderstanding you...
It seems more, than a little hopelessly misandrist, when every other mass-murdering foe (ALL female) can be accepted, as troubled anti-heroes, ..but, George Perez's Hercules.
I think the WW comic should be consistent. I think George Perez's redemption of Hercules grew us all up, a little. It glowed eloquence and maturity, that was a signature of his landmark run on the comic. While Diana's palling around, with mass-murdering Silver Swan, Circe and Cheetah may be fine, with some of us, creators should be mindful of the message, which his exclusion from forgiveness, gives male fans of ALL ages.

Yeah she took dead vessels and merged them with the souls of fallen Amazons, recreating Amazonia. Her WW costume was definitely UGLY (idk why its hard to create a good WW costume for non Diana people before Yara) but she was kind of in the grey space as she was working with Aquawoman to potentially rule the Earth if the heroes couldnt stop another destruction.
But if WW ever got a show/animated show...bringing in E2 Fury would definitely be a good way to have her have a daughter but not have a daughter at the same time. And gives her a good villain and someone she attempts to save (sort of like Xena/Eve but hopefully better)

Out of the three villains you mention, Silver Swan is the one who actually deserves redemption and should've been redeemed a long time ago.

Weird take, but okay considering of the three female villains you listed only Silver Swan (the Valerie and Vanessa versions specifically) being the one I'd consider being worthy of redemption.

I'd say she's more like Eve than Hope (Xena). Grail was born evil. She never really stood a chance with the influence Darkseid had over her.
Fury was essentially brainwashed and made into a weapon from a very young age. Her father killed her mother and her people. She comes from a doomed universe that can carry a lot of emotional weight.
And of course it gives WW her own kid to go along with the trinity but on a much more complicated level.
-
I've been saying for years that if Jean Grey can have Rachel and Cable as alternate timeline children Diana should have Fury and Hunter. It's such a great way to showcase her mentoring and parenting skills without aging or sidelining her. The fact they're both problematic merely provides more story potential.

When the hell did Diana ever get with someone from Apokolips?

Is that all the back story we have for this version of Wonder Woman? That she hooks up with Steppenwolf, has a daughter, then dies with a sword through the back?
Weren't more eyes rolled when people heard of this? Wasn't there more of an outcry or more to the story than what you just wrote?
I don't understand this one.

What is there to be an outcry about? She is the first known superhero on E2. Metas are named Wonders, after Wonder Woman. She was Queen of the Amazons. The Trinity are guest stars in E2, they all perish within the first 2 issues.
