I get that but I have yet to see positive benefits to franchises I actually care about currently entering into public domain at the moment.
For characters like Batman entering public domain probably wouldn't change much (though I expect it will make a lot of Batman/Superman shippers very happy :p). But Wonder Woman barely gets anything from DC anyway. She doesn't even have an animated series, so public domain would open up a lot of unexplored opportunities for her.

I mean, maybe? But it would be the same as with DC, just depend on the right creative team and and premise.

I mean yeah, the good stuff doesn't immediately crop up especially since the Winnie and Micky stuff is just cheap horror slashers. But that's just the nature of the creative expression and the good thing is unlike currently where if I don't like what DC's doing with WW than there's really no other alternative to go to. Even if I don't like the main Batman book there's like a million other currently running Batman series to read.
Don't like BBC's Sherlock? No problem, go watch Elementary. Think Universal's Dracula isn't scary? Nosferatu is right there.

She really should have an equivalent to Detective and Action Comics.

It annoys me that they can’t get her stats right. She is 6’2 it has been stated and shown. I’m guessing it is from after Rebirth since they use multiple covers?
Also disgusting daughter of Zeus.

Guess I (and the writer here) missed the latest size creep for WW, as I thought 6' was current. She was 5'11 and 140 lbs in the 2000s and 5'8'' and 122 lbs in the 1940s.

In an ideal world, we would have Wonder Woman, Sensation Comics (a sorta Wonder Woman Family-ish book, with stories that focus on the various Wonder Woman-adjacent characters) and a Wonder Woman team-up book, like Wonder Woman: Agent of Peace was.

What’s the likelihood that the success of King’s book thus far leads to another ongoing? In a perfect world, sure. But time will tell…

Neither the success of Perez nor Rucka gave us another monthly ongoing...

Actors passing on roles happens often.
Actors passing on roles happens often.
Obviously. It was mostly a rhetorical question, but I'm curious what part of the role she didn't like (not that I expect that to be divulged).

Probably wasn't interested in playing up her looks as she tries to get more action and less stereotypical roles

Saw a mention of a show called "The Last Amazon" being produced for Netflix today, but when I did a little digging all I could find was articles from 2018 linking Ava DuVernay to the show, which would apparently be about Hippolyta and Antiope. It's unclear if this was a DC Comics thing, or a generic show about Amazons. Anyone ever heard of it and know what happened? 6 years later and no news suggests it died, but it's weird I saw it referenced in an article on BleedingCool for the new Elfquest animated show literally this week.

No, this was it's own thing starring Hippolyta and Antiope that wasn't D.C. related. It's funny how many Amazon stories there are now since Wonder Woman was a hit.

The most popular male superheroes all have one female supervillain who is in love/obsessed with them. Does Diana have any male villains that are in love/obsessed with her? Donna kinda has Angle Man, but I can't think of one for Diana. I might be forgetting someone obvious.

Theres been a few over the years. Hercules for example was trying to drug Diana with love potion roofie.
The Star triplets who gained superpowers to try forcing Wonder Woman to be theirs.
Mchsm whose whole deal was trying to make women subserviant and compliant.
Glop, a singing parasitic slime that swore to romance Wonder Girl.
Amoeba Man who despite being an evil world conquering shapeshifter was Kanighers best effort at creating a love interest.
The problem with that logic (putting aside that most heroes don't actually have a villain obsessively in love with them anymore, this was very much a silver age conceit)
Is this veers very much into stalker/rapist territory and most writers wouldn't be comfortable touching those topics with a ten foot pole.

All of them fit, but I was kinda thinking about some with more appearances. I mean some still are used like Cupid and old Maxima is back, but it definitely is something of the past. And it is a iffy territory on how to portray, but it still is very much an issue today.

Thinking about it, that sort of male Catwoman character is a tricky thing to get right because yeah it looks different when the genders are reversed.
Like I have this friend, she reads plenty of romance manga, especially ones with jerky boyfriends. She has a particular taste in men, such as loving men with long hair, and she especially loves trashy guys. She notes that she does like a good toxic relationship if its compelling or entertaining enough.
Its definitely something you need a woman to write for cause its very dependent on the concept "What are the features woman find attractive in men?"

Agree. However I feel like at least with a character like Wonder Woman if the male character for example was a non powered character so that you now nothing could ever happen because he just is impossible then that is very much a difference from for example Hercules or god forbid Dr. Psycho.
-
Oh and theres also Alcmaeon by Christopher Priest who was a professional sleezeball that had like ten different kinds of mind control to try and force women to sacrifice everything for him.

Started a war and made Wonder Womans body in his bed the cost for ending it.

While Maxima is back, she has displayed no interest in Superman at all. In fact her last appearance as far as im aware was in Wonder Woman duringthe Steve Orlando run wherin its established she had a lover.
As for Cupid...While she has been around recently, shes not had many appearances herself. Three issues in the past 15 years, and about 20 appearances in her entire history

Oh yeah its like there are lines that can't be crossed to keep them "charming". Making them rapey is certainly one of them.
Like I recall a fun convo with my bug about Jujutsu Kaisen about this villain who has a lot of female fans but she doesn't dig him because said character is a vicious misogynist. As she put it "Misogyny is not sexy."
-
I've pointed out that Maxima would be a lot less popular if she were like Anissa from Invincible. Look up that character if you have the stomach.
As far as this trope applying to Wonder Woman, I think I'm okay with it being left in the Silver Age unless the writers actually make a point of dissecting entitlement, harassment and lack of respect for consent. Otherwise, it's not bringing anything new to the table.

I like that it was Wonder Woman's idea to open the Hall of Justice in the Suicide Squad game:

Just re-read Messner-Loebs run.
Years ago, when I first read, I thought it was a kinda-ok-ish story overall with some interesting ideas spanning some very inconsistent art. But for the most part, as a fan of his Flash run, I thought to myself that the worse stuff was because of Mike Deodato, or the editors interfering.
Nowadays, re-read it all with my current mindset... it has kinda fell apart a little. Sure, I'm now able to see more clearly the editorial interference (mostly on those "do what Perez wouldn't do" moments) and Deodato's art has aged very poorly. But also... I don't find M-L ideas that interesting after some time. For example, in a lot of times M-L goes thru Wondy being like "this character suck because of this". Now, this happens a lot of times in superhero comics, but these moment usually are followed up by "no, this character doesn't suck because she can do X". But... M-L rarely gives an answer to the questions he himself writes. Most of the time he's trying to deconstruct the character, but ultimately fails because that would lead to him taking Perez ideas or didn't think of anything.
It is allways nice however to see long story arcs on a WW run. However, things like the whole Circe/Donna arc, long-running secondaries og his own run disappearing after 3 issues, and the chaotic mess of White Magician derail the run a lot. And not to mention that really ridiculous retcon of Hypolita and Hercules...
One thing stands out for tho, and it's how M-L portrays Diana as the ultimate rebel, a person that doesnt get **** from anyone and just does whatever as she pleases. Can't stop thinking this is the first run that properly adresses this interesting side of the character that is now being explored again on the Tom King run. alltho, it's not allways perfect, like, why everyone takes on Diana for being aggresive towards the mob? And well, Artemis also stands out, but I'd say that post M-L writers like Jimenez did a better job.
it's still a good run for me, it's just that I think there are many things derailing it.
