Random Diana in a bikini is random :p.
And randomly with only her silvery bracelets, since at this time (Post Crisis), Diana did not need to wear them always and forever. All the rest of her WW outfit are removed for swimming.

Emphasizing Nubia and Yara instead of Diana...Nubia leading in that one scene...not sure how I feel about it.
Also not sure why there are police/EMT's in that last panel?

Not Cheetah fighting batman again. Girl can't escape the street level treatment. Poor thing.

I am definitely on your side. I don't feel that this is a "random" battle; it's imo an indicator of how the people involved in this pic deem Cheetah not a big enough threat, and hence a walk in the park for a human like Batman. Any artist/writer that knew their DC lore would never pit Cheetah against Bruce. He'd be dead in less than a minute. WTF
-
Well, Wonder Woman is whitout any doubt the most popular amazon... but narratively Nubia is the queen of all amazons, so she gets to be the main commander, and has the most experience. Also, this number is written by Stephanie Williams, lol. (this is from Dark Crisis Warzone, not the main event, btw)

Exactly. We continue to see how low the bar is for WW lore. And people here think WW world is getting more respect nowadays. LOL.

Diana isn't a newbie though. She's been fighting these battles for awhile now. She doesn't need to be reminded or commanded

There were a lot of random match-ups in that fight sequence.

Yeah, I know Nubia has her past life memories but she's been on Themyscira all the time Diana has been on Man's World if I recall correctly.

Random but I like it. This just makes me want to see a proper Arthur & Diana team-up more.
The way Diana just says "I know" at the end gets me. xD Truly blessed by Aphrodite.

I agree the Dark Crisis matchups have been super random, not that it completely excuses that Cheetah gets the short end of the stick again.
Who is the woman that's fighting the shield dude in the background?
-
Look, I get you. But then again, this is written by Stephanie Williams, and Nubia is her baby. I can understand why she wants to give Nubia more presence (even if it's just one phrase on one splash page)

In fact it seems like she has been representing the amazons on the Man's world for quite a time since she became queen, at least acording to her last miniseries.

That's an interesting question. I would say the original intetion was to draw Cassandra Sandsmark? But that character doesn't seem like Cass at all. I wouldn't even know who is she fighting against
-
I'm surprised Giganta wasn't in that shot since she was among the corrupted villains alongside Cheetah, Ares, and Angle Man.

More of a merch question, but do you guys think we'll see any Wonder Woman villains in the new "Super Powers" toyline that's popping up?
Todd McFarlane seems more focused on modern DC characters, but it'd be so nice to see Cheetah or Angle Man or Silver Swan done in the Super Powers style, to go with the vintage Wonder Woman figure. She never had villains of her own to fight!

No, lol.
He didn't even do a Cheetah when WW84 was out and WW is the only member of "the Big 7" who he hasn't even done a classic comic evergreen version like everyone else, closest was a Gal Gadot WW84 figure. Everything else has been shit that his buddy Capullo drew or ugly crap like "Todd McFarlane WW".
If you want a WW figure, I'd suggest eBay to track down older Mattel figures or save some money for the higher-end more posable stuff.
-
I'm shocked he's even doing a Wonder Woman in the Super Powers line at this point.

Is he? I haven't seen a picture of that.

I am personaly not "enraged," but it makes me wonder if DC has some sort of mandate to ensure that any ancillary product (that is not a movie) that features the Trinity only shows Superman as the flying member of the trio. If Diana has been flying in the comics for so long, why can she not fly in this thing?

I have been pointing this out forever.
DCSuperherogirls--doesn't fly but just about everyone else does.
New 52--apparently didn't fly until issue 12 of her series, at least 5 years after her first appearance in mans world.
WW2009 animated--doesn't fly even with Gail Simone being one of the writers who was writing her series at the same time in which she was flying.
Sensational comics--depends which story/authors.
Black/Gold--I am not sure on this one, but can only speculate that it is the same as Sensation Comics.
WW DCEU--doesn't fly until her 4th appearance, in WW84, and then this makes no sense since this movie was set over 30 years prior to BvS and JL. Which tells me that Synder and company had never planned for this to happen.
WW videogame--remains to be seen!
I might be forgetting some other series.

You don't have to answer this obviously, but why do you have a profile pic of Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman if you despise stories where Wonder Woman can't fly?
-
You don't have to answer this obviously, but why do you have a profile pic of Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman if you despise stories where Wonder Woman can't fly?
Why are you always in a conversation about flying when you know you don't want Diana to have it? Also, I would think the Lynda Carter version would be the perfect Wonder Woman for you since she couldn't fly in her series.
And, if you know your Wonder Woman history, you should know that Wonder Woman couldn't fly under her own power before Post Crisis. Flying on air currents is not what I consider to be under her own power, by the way. So...she couldn't fly in the TV series since this was before Post Crisis, the special effects at the time would have made gliding on air currents look very cheap/stupid. The TV show was also in a self contained universe in which she was the only known superhero. She didn't have to compete with alpha males like Batman/Superman or any of their ilk.
So I don't despise her ability to not fly before post crisis. But I do now when they depower her after post crisis for really no reason. I want her powerset to be consistent and stable throughout whoever is writing her at the moment. I don't want to second guess what the writers are thinking with respect to her powerset.
When the writers, let's use for example Superman, bring him 'down to earth' by letting him only leap tall buildings with a single bound, then maybe I won't have as much a claim to demand that she now fly in every iteration post-crisis. But...let me know when Superman can't fly anymore. That can't take long, can it?
-
Time and time and again I stop reading Wonder Woman comics to read other Wonder Woman fans opinions because of precisely this: you never know which is going to be the newest reason that explains why the fandom is discussing and in war with each other (again)

Okay
I also want to have the same consistent powerser, and flying wouldn't be part of it since she's an enhanced amazon, not a female Superman, and since flying is rarely relevant to her combat stories since she has the lasso.
I'm totally okay with you wanting her to fly, but I'm certainly not the only person with my opiniom so I hope you respect that.

I thought she was supposed to be a powerhouse. Not just an enhanced amazon. Also superman didn't have flight at first either. And according to DC, she is on his level. Although she should be way above him.

When will that silly argument finally die, comic books are full of flying superheroes and they are not all Superman just because they share 1 of the most common superpowers with him, and unlike Wonder Woman most of these flying superheroes were not even a direct female answer to Superman:
“Not even girls want to be girls so long as our feminine archetype lacks force, strength, and power. Not wanting to be girls, they don't want to be tender, submissive, peace-loving as good women are. Women's strong qualities have become despised because of their weakness. The obvious remedy is to create a feminine character with all the strength of Superman plus all the allure of a good and beautiful woman.”
― William Moulton Marston
, also why should the lasso prevent Wonder Woman from flying in combat?
-
There are actually no other superheroes that fly but Superman. He is the only one that flies. Everyone else just floats around him, even the ones that aren't in DC comics.
-
If Diana can fly and is invulnerable to bullets, she's just Superman with tits, end of discussion. That's all it takes, nothing else but those things. No need to think any deeper than that.
-
Yeah, the whole "Wonder Woman should not fly or be indestructible because that would make her a copy of Superman" thing is absurd. I have never heard that argument about Shazam, Black Adam, Supergirl, Power Girl, or the million other superheroes who fly and are indestructible. Oh well...
-

Let's be real here. The people that complain about it, usually complain because they think, if she can fly, be indestructible and also a better fighter. She would probably kick SM's ###. But what they do not understand. Is that Diana could be all that, and have a universe busting level gun. And they would still make her fodder next to Superman. How often have her superior martial art skills and magic gear saved her from being destroyed by SM? Literally never, and that is the excuse that some fans use here. She doesn't need to be bulletproof, or fly. She can still go up to the big powerhouses because of her skills and gear. Well, i haven't seen any good perfomance from her in years, where her skills and gear saved her from getting trashed. So they need to put that myth to rest already. At least being bulletproof would save us from more terrible moments like the priest run. That would be an improvement already.
-

Why would you hear it about Supergirl or Powergirl? 2 characters who are copies of Superman and part of the same alien race?

Reminds of me of how Jimenez said in an interview with KSD how when DC editors and writers were trying to narrow down each role of the "Big 7" on the League the best they could come up with Wonder Woman was "Best Fighter on the ground only in the DC Universe".
Had to laugh with DeConnick said she was surprised DC didn't go with "the most prettiest". I'm surprised they didn't go with that.

who would be the best fighter in the air? How does one keep tabs on this?
Seriously hate stuff like this, some characters should just be as they are, Flash and Batman are legit the only people I can think of needing something like this in the league.
