I'd bump Cassie down to derivative and probably wouldn't have Yara on it but mostly lines up for me.

Well, FBI Agent. Diana's alter ego being a government agent isn't a new idea at least.
-
Diana as a cop/FBI agent is puuuuuke. Anyone writing WW in a Batman book should really know that the most iconic, acclaimed Batman/Wonder Woman story of all time starts with Batman playing cop and ends with this:

For what it's worth, I also really dislike Diana as a US government agent or anything military. Can't stand the ARGUS stuff. I also wish Etta were a civilian but sadly it feels like that ship has sailed.

Call me a cynic but I don’t think Murphy is going to handle that as well as others given his treatment of Dick and Babs :p

It reminds me of Gail Simone's run where Diana was an agent of the Deo.
-
I'd say it's a callback to the 60s spy era but apparently from what I heard Murphy didn't even know the correct order of the Robins so I'd be surprised if his WW knowledge goes any deeper than DCAU or the movies.
-
This is literally the first I've even heard of White Knight. And, having looked up what it is on Wikipedia, I can safely say I wish I had the last five minutes of my life back.
But, yay, sure can't wait for another edgy "deconstruction" take on Wonder Woman that no one f***ing asked for. Because those are always a barrel of laughs.

I think that predated Simone from Heinberg with the Post-Infinite Crisis status quo, but Simone did the most with it.
-
If you dislike Batman, then you will probably enjoy White Knight. The series deconstructs Batman and points out the realistic ineffectual ness of his crusade. Bruce learns that his family fortune was earned through illicit means, Gordon literally points out the stupidity of him calling Batman for help with a big obvious signal, millionaires buy up property that Batman damages in a scam and one of the books ends up with Bruce with his identity exposed and in jail, his victory against Azrael was a phyrric. Unlike 'The Dark Knight Returns' which is actually an affirmation of the Bat Mythos, the White Knight is actual deconstruction of Batman that actually highlights the absurdity of calling the character realistic or would be in any way effectual.
I have no idea how a Sean Murphy Wonder Woman would be, I'm just saying, wait-and-see what he does instead of writing off because you don't like cops, bats and Harley's.

Yes, the stupid era of Wonder Woman where we swapped out Rucka's run for return to the 60s spy era that apparently made Diana more human and relatable that Heinberg couldn't even do 5 issues of. But she had a secret identiy so I guess that did something.

Mostly it's a Batman universe run by fanon.

Here's White Knight for those who don't know
Joker and Harley are perfect, thats the entire comic. Out of the entire history history of comics, Joker and Harley are absolutely untouchable and are the grestest characters who ever existed, and everyone else sucks in comparison to them. Thats not much of an exaggeration.
Also Murphy tries to be political but he sucks. The main message of the first book is "Batman should give all his advanced weapons and equipment to the police". Yes thats the theme, the cops should have tanks. The entire book is everyone bullying Batman to give all of his stuff to the GCPD and this is treated as a good thing, with Dick Grayson even becoming a literal cop because "its the right thing to do". Its shitty deconstruction of Batman.
The White Knight universe is trash. Read them only if you love Joker and Harley Quinn, and don't mind seeing every character torn down in favor of them.

Lol, never read them but knew they weren't for me when I heard he decided to make "Classic/BTAS" Quinn a separate character from the modern New 52/SS-inspired Quinn.

Well it is the same person who as far as I can tell designed the worst Batgirl costume so it's on brand.

Only in that she's wearing pants and a jacket, the details are entirely different. Apparently so is her race. She looks like Puerto Rican Diana Prince (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Also being totally non supportive and against what the Joker did to Jason Todd. That part had strong fanon vibes.
FFS, even Timm and Dini showed that Harley can be a total pos in 'Return of the Joker' by having her try to excuse what the Joker did to Tim Drake.

Given that Superman is still an alien i will interested to see if Di is still an Amazon. She better be

Did they? :p She's alive and well at the end of ROTJ while Joker was the one who got killed, though I realize her cameo may have just been for gag purposes and creators sometimes have a hard time killing their own creations.
-
I agree it was nice that they acknowledged how Harley's playful antics should never be seen as a real conscience, especially where Joker is concerned. She'll let him do anything he wants, no matter how evil. Bringing her back at the end was a much-needed laugh. That movie was so dang dark.

She was alive but it's 50 years later so there is a huge gap we don't know about. Besides, she became a bitter old crow having to bail her grand kids out of the kind of trouble that she used to get into. You can take that as a small taste of the karma she went through in life.

Its hilarious how the original Harley completely shut the door on her own redemption by helping out the Joker in the absolute worst thing he's ever done.
It rather signifies that all things considered, she really isn't a good person. Sure she can be sweet, she can nice, but there is a reason why she's so attracted to Mistah J. Luckily his death means he no longer influence her back into crime and while its unknown what exactly happened to her in those 50 years, the fact she's a nagging crone and her granddaughters are repeating the family cycle its a pretty good indication that Harley remains a dysfunctional person for the rest of her life.
-
DCAU Harley even originally started out wanting to take advantage of the mentally ill to get famous. She has sympathetic qualities, but overall was never a good person. "Harleen" aside, most of the attempts to make her one fall flat.
Anyway, aren't Bruce and Harley married or something in Murphy's fanfic? I only read the first one and found it too bland to read the rest of it. Diana getting dragged into this bodes ill

I really feel that, of most superheroes, Diana would be precisely the one who'd have the most reservations about supporting/representing entities like the Police force or the military. I mean, I can see maybe at the start of her "career" in Patriarch's world she would not know anything about it and fully drink the Kool Aid, but I imagine that once she knows better, she'd say "Um, no thanks."

They are yes. While they aren't actually in love at least with Bruce I think, Harley is basically Bruce's closest friend in the series, far closer than either Dick or Barbara even and so they got married so Bruce can help support her and Joker's kids. She's basically the 3rd main character alongside Batman and Joker.
Tellingly they announced a couple years ago spin-offs focusing Harley, Nightwing, and Batgirl but since then only the Harley Quinn spin-off came out.
If ya wanna know how far it goes with the Harley shilling, I think this page is the perfect emblem of it.

Whelp...pain on the horizon as Diana gets dragged into another stupid crossover story this summer with Knight Terrors. Even worse, she has to share space with Superman and Batman, and we all know how that always turns out.
And it's going to be written by Joshua Williamson...because it wasn't enough to suffer through Dark Crisis.
DC Comics...expect nothing. Get even less.

I think the only thing that matters is who ends up writing her tie-in.

Ya just know given how subpar Williamnson's past record he'll have another Harley/WW scene because "they're both woman so obviously WW would be BFFS with a mass murderer".

Is it that event crossovers/tie-ins are the only comic books that sell? I simply can't with another event.

At least the cover is cool. Medusa, Ares and maybe the flying semi-transparent skulls are supposed to allude to a corrupted Well of Souls?
I just hope Diana's solo doesn't get disturbed by it right as she's supposed to enter a new direction whatever that will be.
