Oof. They say most of the best versions are from pre-Crisis, then the list is mostly post-Crisis?
Some of the images don't add up with the number they are attached to. And that picture of Steve fishing doesn't have anything to do with what is being listed.

I think almost none of the pictures, aside from the last, lineup with the era of Themyscira they talk about lol.

When CBR wants to do Wonder Woman content they should really get one of us. We couldn't do any worse than some random that doesn't know what they're talking about.

10 Themyscria's? I didn't even know there were more than 5 (Golden Age, Silver Age, Post Crisis, Nu52 and Rebirth) and even then some versions like the Golden and Silver Age versions blends together and even the Rebirth version is a melding of the Pre Crisis or Post Crisis versions.
-
Beginning in 2011, the New 52 DC reboot also gave Themyscira a makeover. Unlike the war-torn island depicted post-Crisis, this version depicts the Amazons as a race of supremely smart and strong-willed women who are completely independent of the evil that men do. While short-lived, it was another time of triumph.
Which comic did this writer read?

You could add elseworld versions like Legend of Wonder Woman and Historia (I'm surprised the latter wasn't even mentioned given they have an image from Morrison's Earth One comic).

Or it's a lack of editors.
Who green lit this?

I love the chaos storm that shields Themyscira from Patriarch’s World, but I’ve never warmed to megaladons patrolling the waters of Themyscira.

Parts of this felt totally nonsensical to me so I copied and pasted it into an AI content detector in chunks and sure enough...big sections of it ranged from 50-60% human-generated.
The state of modern journalism, folks.

Well on one hand we only see Themyscira for like the last two pages and it's not exactly an idyllic depiction at the moment.
...but it's not like it'd be out of place with the logic of the rest of that list.

What do you guys prefer, the name Paradise Island, or the name Themyscira. And why?
What do you guys prefer, the name Paradise Island, or the name Themyscira. And why?
For me Themyscira is the capital city of Paradise Island.
What do you guys prefer, the name Paradise Island, or the name Themyscira. And why?
Themyscira only because Paradise Island while fine when comics were written for children, it isn't distinct enough for modern times. Besides we already have a Paradise Island here in Man's World.
-
For me Themyscira is the capital city of Paradise Island.
Seconding this. This is actually how Perez had established it in his run. Yet somehow people overlooked this and just started calling the island Themyscira.

Is it just me, or is Gal's WW the most merchandised version of the character...ever?
There's one Carter WW figure that Mattel put out years ago. There are a few small animated WW figures from the JLU series out there, also from Mattel. And then a handful of DC Direct Wonder Woman figures from over the years.
Yet it seems like there have been three dozen Gal figures of varying sizes made, all practically identical. Her costume has barely changed since her introduction, except in terms of coloring, and yet we get these endless versions of the same thing.
Do any of you actually own all of them? I'm burned out on them...and I never even bought any!

It's not particularly surprising when DCEU Wonder Woman has appeared in multiple big budget films that she'd be the most merchandised one. The Carter show is like two generations removed from modern audiences and DCAU Wondy only existed as part of JL stuff so not surprising she really only gets figures if a company is making DCAU stuff.
I have one Gadot figure but I personally got out of collecting DC stuff since I don't have any interest, or see the value, in McFarlane's current output and decided to focus more on other toy lines at the moment.

I've bought several of the more affordable/discounted Wonder Woman figures. I love Gal's version of Diana/Wonder Woman, and this is my small way of showing support. The most expensive figure I've bought is the WW84 Diana and Steve set of the two outside the Lincoln Memorial. I got it on sale for $40.00 when the original is a little more than $80 - $100.
As Gaius said, I think there's a lot of Gal Gadot Wonder Woman merchandise because Gadot is still the contemporary Wonder Woman whose been in several films. I have Gadot merchandise from Justice League and both Wonder Woman films, and I was going to buy the Shazam figure, too. I also think Gadot did a good job of promoting herself as Wonder Woman even during downtime, and the merchandise must sell well.
I also plan to get a Golden Eagle Wonder Woman figure, but I'm still waiting on those to come down about $10 more in price.

Gal Gadot merch sales. It's the same reason why we see MCU merch over Marvel comics merch.

hehe...the DCAU Wondy there in the back actually fell after I took that pic and her top half broke off from the rest of the body. And she was the one with heels/feet smaller than a piece of rice. :p

For some reason, the vibe and art both felt weird, suprising as it was Travis. Persephone pages were better though.
Jack Frost and Siggy as exes?
That was unexpected

Themyscira because the name is from the myths.

This is something I've always been curious, wonder if its cropped up before, what do you feel on the subject of Diana ever getting a kid?
Like looking at characters like Jon Kent and Damian Wayne, what would you think a child of Wonder Woman could be like if you like the idea?

Okay kids, one of these is not like the others, which one?
If you said "second from the right" you'd be correct.
Now you see why I don't think Gal Gadot looks like Wonder Woman.

I always imagine her having a daughter at some point, not with Steve Trevor or Siggy or anyone, but by also creating her own child like Hippolyta created Diana--brought to life by the goddesses, etc.

I would be very surprised if there isn't some "pitch" lying around DC comics that's "WW has a child".
Personally I think given the Mother/Daughter relationship in WW's mythos with Hippolyta I think there is some value in exploring the idea of Diana as a parent in regards to a daughter. There's obviously the issue in some fiction of presenting woman characters as their only purpose is to have kids and then stop being useful but I'd be interested in seeing some Black Label type book that explores the idea. Rucka's unused "Diana's Daughter" project sounds like it would have explored the concept from what little we know.
That said given DC's history I imagine they'd only give Diana a daughter so they can just have a "kid trinity" with Jon and Damien rather than exploring how Diana having a kid would affect her. Like how they tried to speedrun Yara who only started interacting with WW in any meaningful sense after her book was canned and needed somewhere to go. And while a son could be interesting in concept with the write writer, I'd imagine it'd end up being a "Diana and the Amazons get called out on being sexist"-storyline.
I guess while we're on the subject I've never really cared for Lyta (Diana's daughter with Steve in Earth-2), if the concept were ever approached I'd rather a new creation.

Why, what was wrong with Lyta? If you said she was paired up and married off too quickly I'd agree, but other than that she was cool.

I've always considered Diana having twins, a boy and a girl. Especially since her compatriots tend to have single kids so twins or triplets of the like would be an interesting distinction.
I would find it interesting Diana grappling with such a situation as with any parent they have to be careful not to fall into favoring one kid over the other. Like being one of those folks who sure would love any kid they have with all their heart, but they have an obvious preference to a daughter so a son would probably be a weird experience for her. Of course the son shouldn't get all the focus, it should balanced with same focus on the girl too.
Though as you mentioned the idea can fall into easy traps like just being about the Amazons being sexist. I admit I thought about the Amazons rejecting the kid so yeah care should be put in so the execution is actually interesting.
Really Diana having a kid is a cute thought cause ya know that child is gonna be loved, that kid is gonna have a lot of aunts since all the Amazons are gonna love their beloved princess' kid.
-
I really hope they never give Diana a child, first because she doesn't have to follow the pattern of the other members of the trinity and second because I'm fine with her not having children and somehow representing all those people who don't have children. and live a full life without them.
-

I'll admit I never considered twins. :p
Usually because fiction (and superhero ones in particular) usually just have one and then maybe a second later on.

Plus we already have Wonder Twins.
