I mean, not like we got a plethora of Ares or Dr. Poison stories after the first movie. :p
Valid. But this time DC knows they’ve got a hit. They were probably hesitant to make any plans around the first film and had other stories already plotted.
Really? LOL
To completely discard a character who’s playing a pivotal role in a well-received movie feels like cutting off one’s nose to spite one’s face.
Lord in the movie doesn't seem to have anything in common with the comic version so nothing of value would be lost.

Perhaps there is something to be gained if they start to use what works for Lord in the film in the comic, too.
Like I said, I haven’t seen WW84 yet, so maybe what I’m suggesting isn’t possible.

Intro of issue 770 already started with the wrong foot saying not even princess Diana can survive such an assultt. Yes i'm going to be that picky from now on. People in charge of WW have disappointed way too much already.

Ok but couldn't they have crafted more Ares and Dr. Poison stories once they knew the movie was a hit? Dr. Poison has only had a cameo since Rucka's run.

Yep, I can’t argue with that.

They tried with Ares, there was his whole thing in GWW’s run. It just sucked.
Cloonan, Conard, Jones and Martinez will be doing a WW story in the Infinite Frontier one-shot:

Re-establishing the Wonder Family :)?
I wonder if this will be Diana's first meeting with Yara.

I kind of like that arc and the idea behind honestly, though that it didn't really go anywhere made it all feel rather pointless.

It was a pretty solid, if flawed, debut arc that unfortunately was the peak of the run.

I agree, the Ares story was def the best part of her run. It was trying to do something new and different with the character which is appreciated.

Yeah, felt it was building on what Rucka setup. When he pops up again I kind of hope some writer builds on that since there’s still stuff to explore and since he hasn’t been seen much it’s not like they’d be contradicting much. :p

I liked the idea of it, as I’ve said elsewhere Ares as a straightforward villain doesn’t do it for me, but it just went nowhere. Also Nord’s art was weak compared to stuff I’ve seen from him elsewhere, I’m guessing doubleshipping was responsible for that.
-
The art situation really hurt Wilson's run, but even in the issues drawn by Xermanico there were some dubious plotting. Like a faction of Amazons backing Grail over their queen for no reason while Hippolyta just sits there only in one pair of fragile looking manacles that she could easily break.

Yeah, art on the book hasn’t been the best since the Sharp/Scott/Evely days.
