lol Byrne must have been very angry with how CC wrote the original story to the point that he replaced Victor with a Non-Combat unit Doombot.
these writers sometimes be fanning just as hard as we do, if not more, than we do for our faves. if the rumors are true about cc and Byrnes in-fighting, cc using one of his faves to defeat Byrnes fave as we saw in roguestorm must have ground his gears. Byrne was probably sticking it to CC by retconning that story. I also believe Byrne may have thought doom wouldn't be a pushover when pinned against storm either so im sure a lot motivated him to write that FF retcon. But it is of no consequence as it is back to what CC originally wrote!! lol

IMO if people like Human Torch, The Thing, Reed or mainly Sue can be serious problems for the real Doom I don't see why Storm or some X-Heavy Hitters wouldn't be, I mean I don't know if Byrne was bothered when Sue claimed she could kill Doom if she wanted to. The problem is not always that your favorite character loses, but who he loses to.
Byrne may not have liked how CC portrayed Doom in Roguestorm but he didn't better when trying to retcon in the original story, replacing Doom for a Doombot that imo make the story lost a bit of the shine.
Thank Goddess Elwing fixed that.

Agreed 100% to all of this. Did Byrne write Sue saying she was stronger than Doom or did another writer?
Pass on both of them for me. I would prefer a darker-skinned actress portraying Storm.
I'd pass on both of them too but not for darker skin. They're both a good brown color that's darker than the biracial actresses they've always had play Storm. I pass on them cause I think they could choose either better actresses or better looking ones
By the way I love how in the latest issue of Black Panther #24 Monica Rambeau turned into complete electricity and let Storm absorb her and unleash on an entire armada of the intergalactic empire! Legendary!

I agree. I thought that moment was pretty dope and I like how their combined attack took down Emperor N'Jadaka's flagship. From an art perspective I thought Storm looked awesome when powered up with the extra energy. While it was just another lightning attack (and I don't think Storm should even need Monica to perform this feat), the scene still works for me.

omg!! I was literally just have a discsusion with a friend on fb who brought this to my attention. to know she not only absorbed Monica to manipulate her energy but then also used it to create a massive attack was pretty badass.
and btw a review of the issue:
So of course rumors are coming about MCU Mutants.
Base off some the casting information. Actress like sonequa martin-green & yara shahidi are being consider for roles.
What do you guys think of either of these lady being chosen to play Storm, and if you think the direction casting seems to be going is in the direction fan would like for Storm?
Honestly...sigh but Yara would make sense since she is young..

Yara is an awfull actress, she cannot act !

I'll say it now, if Storm gets shocked/electrocuted again after channelling the electrical powers of Monica...somebody"s head is gonna roll.

What was the tactical advantage of Monica/Ororo's combo? Ultimately they just shot down a ship. Either of them could have done that alone. Giving David the coordinator position also took away from T'Challa's role as tactician/strategist, and none of the combos were all that novel/creative. Acuna did the heavy lifting(straining to the breaking point with so many characters at play). With only one issue left, style over substance is the best we can hope for. Any nuanced insight into Ororo's divinity, her relationship to the other orishas, to T'Challa himself, let alone the nature of Wakanda itself, all of that can't be satisfyingly concluded. A fight between symbiote-Killmonger/T'Challa with a sprinkle of deus ex machina is probably all that's left in the tank, at this point. Coates, you had over 50 issues, over 5 years, to do whatsoever you wanted to, and you decide to turn Wakanda into colonizers, rapists, and slavers. To each their own, but what the hell?

Both ladies had pretty much been overwhelmed. Taking out fleets of ships they running on fumes hence the statement: chain lightning resources depleted. Storm using absorbing Monica's energy and redirecting it allowed them to take down the mother's hip which hosted Njadaka.
Tchalla, for all his talents couldn't process all the data taken from the galactic empire and process it in the manner in which prodigy was doing the entire issue. The ability of a great leader us knowing when to execute a task and then when to delegate based upon the strengths of your team.
Lastly, I don't think its fair to declare he turned Wakanda to colonizers, rapists and slavers. His stories since the start if his run until now have been far more complex than that showing the many layers that exist with humanity good, bad and all the gray in-between.
