Best friends.
Those are my girls. I want a miniseries dedicated to their alliance as teammates and profound friendship.
Here's the entirety of "First Friends," which is dedicated to the solidifying of their friendship, from Classic X-Men #2:
:p /thumbs up
Considering a common thundercloud contains more energy than any single nuclear power plant, I say sensors of any kind will be screwed from the very start, the same energy that makes storm’s brain unpleasant for telepaths is going to mess with long range observation and recordings.
Omega level thermokinesis: destabilizes matter on the atomic level (bye bye structural integrity), messes up any thermochemical reaction in the jet engines and conventional energy storage, heat vent non operational.
Omega level atmokinesis: jovian level pressures to turn the sentinels into very expensive unmanageable trash cans, rag dolls to play with or sitting ducks waiting for the slaughter? Pick your poison!
Omega level hydrokinesis: fill their every sockets and empty spaces to the brim with humidity and water, turn it all to ice, suddenly these sentinels have 3 times the mass they were designed for and all their mechanical components are stuck frozen in place, hydraulics go bust, the volume increase alone would be enough to cause irreversible catastrophic damage to the external shielding.
Omega level electrokinesis: any circuit, conductor, processor and pieces of high tech gets either fried or messed with on the most fundamental level, any significant power transmission gets to a sudden stop, forget calculation-retaliation, self repair etc. …. These machines don’t run on happy thoughts, without power generation and transmission it is GAME OVER!
These are just the tip of the iceberg in Ororo’s arsenal, the most basic tools really, nothing fancy or complicated, she doesn’t even need to be on the line of sight, Storm’s reach goes far beyond any sentinel ability to reach her and she still has much more…..
I'm starting a campaign to hire you at marvel lol
Daaaaammmmnn! 81 already. Nice! She must be a beast! Once you complete the game can you keep your fully powered Storm for another run?
yes I believe you can I've seen tons on 100 level characters zipping around on the lower level stages. lol
im at level 91 now but still getting my arse beat in pvp.

Can anyone tell me what Storm's biggest weather feat was since the Krakoan era? Other than the Black Panther stuff and the latest Mars team-up, I can't remember any large and impressive weather showing that she has done recently... At least in X-Men Red she did an amazing tsunami thing. Hoping that as Regent of Sol she'll have good feats of that scale and more

I'm seeing some trolling about Storm being a black woman where some are suggesting she isn't a black woman. Well news flash:
both her parents are black and she has been called as such many times in the comics:

It is nonsensical. the only time that was ever implied was when ororo was reverted to a child and a doctor made the comment however a black police on the same page stated she looked like a black girl. her mutation which gives her her cat eyes and white hair gives her an outer worldly look but she is still black.

It is the heroes return issue but that’s besides my point, if the writers wanna get “creative“ with the powers/skills of the “big boys” I don’t see why they should stop when it comes to perfectly logical applications of Ororo’s powers.

it's a reminder that some view blackness with a negative hue. people used to say storm was above race so I was very thankful that Coates gave her dialogue with meaningful discussion on the topic.

I thought this was independent of her mutation and based off her family line?
I thought this was independent of her mutation and based off her family line?
the white hair part, you are right, is a trait passed down from her ancestors which isn't necessarily a mutation. I think the cat eyes however is but I need to confirm.

Period.
I wish Claremont n nem had just went ALL THE WAY with Storms power progression, she is a GOD level being...let her BE THAT. Weather was said to be ONLY a piece of her abilities. I AM NOT and never have been nor will i ever be a fan of Storm being boxed into lightning and rain just because of the 'it'd be hard to write her' excuse. Well damn, give ME the pen and ill write it.
Storm needs to fully realize her full potential..its time. Period.
Storm is a mystical, god like being. EMBRACE IT.

I think Claremont would have and most certainly was on track to give us a fully realized storm. roguestorm was evidence of this however, with the soft reboot I think there was an editorial push to reel her back in with her abilities. we saw this with Claremont when she couldn't or didn't think to use solar winds when the xmen were using a ship to access asteroid m. then of course lobdell completely neefed her once he started to write her after Claremont left. it was the beginning of the end.
do you have the actual quote where it is said she is more than just weather? I've seen it mentioned numerous times but have bit seen the actual source.

yes that is indeed him. I ignore that mess and its clear he didn't understand how hee powers worked.

I wonder if there was a Omega Mutant in the Manipulation of Electromagnetism (Which is one of the four pillars of the universe), could it have subpowers compared to Storm or be bigger than hers? Since the concept of energy, elements, weather events, among other powers you possess, would enter the Earth's electromagnetic field... Or could I be wrong...

Definitely going to have to dig it up because it was a very old interview comparing the highs and lows of Storm and Original Phoenix powers and abilities.
Edit: FOUND IT!
It was in Rampage mag(uk) 1979
I USED to have the page saved on my old pc but an older member Rutog has a bit of it on another board

https://www.abebooks.co.uk/first-edition/RAMPAGE-MAGAZINEMONTHLY-16OCTOBER-1979-COMIC-DEZ/20014207292/bd
The interviewer (someone called Richard Burton, I'll abbreviate it to RB) is asking Chris various questions, working through the characters...
"
RB: Storm next...
Chris Claremont: Storm is basically what she is...a goddess, a three-dimensional goddess, if such a thing is possible.
RB: When the new X-Men first appeared Storm was probably the most powerful and dramatic member. Do you feel now that she's been slightly upstaged by Phoenix?
Chris Claremont: No. In equal terms of raw power, they're approximately equal.
Jean can maintain a higher burst...she can peak higher than Storm but she can't hold it for long. The thing with Storm is that all we've done till now is show her throwing lightning bolts and creating hurricanes, but she can do far more. Phoenix is more visual - the 'bird effect' is more spectacular. So the gist of it is that they complement each other. They do different things in different ways."
The phoenix has gotten the proper progression it deserves...its STORMS TURN now
This is also why i HATE how folk overlook the galactic core ordeal. Storm summoned galactic energy as she would weather on earth.

She didnt survive because she did not wish to, she was getting rid of herself and the brood baby.
Her power should be grandoise at this point since the GC feat was only a taste of her space abilities.

thank you so much boo. this is another bit of evidence demonstrating jean was given phoenix to put her on the power level of storm. I love it. and im going to see how I can get my hands on that.
and you're absolutely right about the galatic core feat. many people overlook it but the insane amount of energy she manipulated to become a freaking star is insane. I'm hoping Ewing explore a bit more of her abilities im hopeful he will deliver.
