Not happy about that, not even a bit.
I think that Storm's godhead is pretty solid by now, no one can oppose it. Unless some author comes and suddenly claimed that she is not as RogieJack plans to do if he gets Storm's solo. One of the reasons why I honestly hope he will never get that chance unless he accepts her Godhood and decides to expand on her African Roots. I do like his take on the African side but turning her back to only an OLM, nope. Not gonna to like that. People fought for her godhood for decades now and if suddenly one author comes and claims that it is not so, you can imagine the enormous backlash that he will receive and how many fans will be completely enraged with him and blinded by hatred which will cause them to not notice his story at all.
She did admitted that already on panel, but now she knows who she is and she knows that she is a real Goddess, one of the reasons why her eyes are set to the cosmo. I hope we do get her ascend to true godhood form, DNA wise as well. I do want see those stats buffed to maximum she i
Indeed it was quite awesome issue, I can't imagine Thorg putting Thor to his little finger, never imagined that that little frog will be so powerful my self. I honestly LOVED it. I just loved how the author showed how much more powerful Thorg is than Thor. :D
Totally agree with everyone here. I had my doubts (very small but still had them) for her godhood but that retcon and they later on certificated in the main X-Men issues. Therefore, she became a real Goddesses.
I do agree with you on other people trying to make their favourites Gods, as well. Jean and Ororo they are completely different, yes they are both OLM, but Ororo is a true Goddess, Jean not really. She is quite a powerful OLM, I do agree with that. She was fierce and fearsome in the KiB #4, I loved her appearance and loved to see her proof over and over again that she is an OL telepath but alas, she is not a Goddess, nothing like our Storm.
Her ancestors could wield magic (probably divine one) but none of them was capable of weather manipulation like Storm, this is unique only to Storm. HOWEVER, this might change. We are yet to learn more about her ancestors, I would really like a story on Ororo's bloodline that dates all the way back to when Oshtur blessed them. I would like to see, why Oshtur blessed, what her blessing was exactly and how that black hair and brown eyes of theirs (probably) change into white and blue.
I will give credit where it is due on that, it has been cemented more and more as fact since Coates went there in BP though i still have a problem with based on all the history it took that long but it is what it is. Hickman called her a goddess in Giant Size, she has been callled a Goddess in fearless, in King in black, at this point it's just people wanting to take things away from the goddess but i can't get upset over that, that is life, especially for a black woman. So here is to May and seeing what space holds.
Heck Duggan wrote a whole data page on the power that was radiating off her and it wasn't her mutant power. We good at this point. lol

Yeah, there is a lot of hate on Storm and I am not even sure, why? Is it because she is black? Come on, does skin colour really matters that much? I mean we have plenty of black people here and no one bothers them. Yes, we are shocked when we see them it is not common, but we've never disrespected (putting aside most or some of the gipsies, since they did quite a bit questionable things) but true black people, like African ones and even Indians and others, we've never disrespected them. Yes, we see them as something exotic, but all of them seem quite good people, honestly. At least this is the vibe what I am getting from them and I would definitely be up for talking with them and learning more about them if this coronavirus wasn't interfering right now.
At this point, people just keep hating on Storm because she is growing more powerful with every passing moment and she is pretty much one of the centric figures right now in the entire X-Men run since Hickman took over, I am not even sure why people dislike her that much? I mean she has proven herself, over and over again, that she is considerable with others who are not Gods like herself and she never overpowered someone without a very good reason (usually baddies) with her divine capabilities.
At this point, I feel like the fans of the other Gods, like Thor and Odin are the main ones who dislike her and I don't even know why. Thor is still more powerful than her, are they afraid that she will reach his capabilities? Probably, she is headed that way clearly and it is the first and only God, well Goddess really, in the X-Men franchise. I really don't see the problem with that. She can face other deities like the African ones, or the South American ones, and she will not even bother with all that Thor is bothered or Odin for that matter. Oh yeah, Odin is alive by the way!

I hope Storm finds a whole planet full of aliens to worship her when she travels through space, just to cement her goddess status even further. I'd love to see how people react to that!

As a black man in America, i can tell you, yes, race is that important to some people. Like how do you create a narrative the former slaves are the ones that are violent and lazy etc, when those are the very people who built the country. How do you want Colin Capernik to lose everything he owns for kneeling silently for wanting to live but then try to be understanding to people climbing a building just for not getting what they wanted and saying it's the same thing. Unfortunately though it shouldn't be it is that big in america and it's usually the people who perpetrate it that then try to turn around and act like the victims while we try to make them feel better about themselves.
I mean just look at the comics, currently there isn't a single god of color outside of wakanda and yet there is a problem with one black female being a goddess? That's too much? Why? Then they will make every rationale but the same don't apply to the other. So honestly i don't take too much of it to heart. Heck for that matter some of the same people who are like "well she's an omega" where the same ones tearing down everytihng about her being a potential omega until hickman spelled it out. Some things have no reason it's just the way people can be.
Even the latest issue of eternals presented the newest white kid on the block to be protected. And i don't say that with any inherent negativity but more an aww at the lack of imagination in so many.
And imo opinion black women get it the worst. Even most black popular male writers don't write a good black female in my opinion and they usually can only be as powerful as their men but never more.

Well, I am quite certain that this is wrong on so many different levels. I do hope that the next President of the USA changes that. I know that the USA is not the perfect place to live for a black person, I've seen quite the shocking things, but we are getting good material for Storm right now. Let's enjoy it and let's hope it will keep going with the same power for the next few decades.
I don't know about that last part. Coates seem to handle her well. I liked the whole run in BP Intergalactic Empire, she got so many feats.

I mean just look at the movies. It feels like black people only get 4 types of movies and we aren't doing ourselves any favors by when we get a moment to create something we don't or play into the same tropes.
We are either gangster/musicans or in the hood somewhere trying to make it out.
A slave movie.
Over the top family comedy.
Or some dance movie.
Why?
I've never held a gun or lived in the hood so where the movies of us black goonie like kids.

This is not the only movies I've seen for black centric people. I've seen mystical ones with African magical powers, I've also seen leading Businessman who is a black man. There are all kinds of different movies for black people, yes they are much rarer than the ones you mentioned but they do exist out there.

i have seen a few recently on netflix that were pretty good. Those are mainly foreign films being produced but here just look at the list of blockbuster movies upcoming. Heck look at Disney Marvel own upcoming slate. But i have to say you are absoutely right there is content out there i thought Queen Sono was really good.

I don't remember the issue but it was someone she saved and it was like a quote on the page something like. "when she showed up we knew we were safe, we could feel her power, and i'm not talking about that controlling the weather thing..." then something about. "knowing they would be safe."
