I thought Storm was great in x-men red and if there was one x-writer that i wouldn't mind getting a new shot in the krakoa era it's taylor. I didn't mind the mind control because it was a naninte the only thing that bothered me was nova was able to get that close but it was a very small thing in an overall great run imo.
Us storm fans must heed her words and never forget ourselves.

Like there are multiple omega mutants in the room. This makes me think is there rank amongst the omega mutants or is it because of them all she has an actual godhead too.

As I told Kyss on Twitter, I personally read it a couple of ways: he's not the most powerful as far as power also he's not as far as status either.

Yh that could be the case but an angry magneto doesn't really give a shit about your political status if he has the ability to crush you, so I read it as he really isn't the most powerful in terms of mutant ability in the room. I mean this comes after Kate threatens to kill him after he attacks xavier and throws a fit.

Well...that was disappointing. I was hoping that it was something more than just pointless grandstanding (even if true). Does she actually do anything in the rest of the story?

I am curious on Storm's thoughts on Decimation and Wanda. It was surprising to see her against resurrection for Wanda. They have never really shared scenes so I guess her opinion about her is a blank slate. Still, when she threw shade on Apocalypse during AOX that made sense, but this instance is a little bit more murky.
-
If nothing else...that panel perfectly illustrates what I don't like about Williams' writing...she clutters her story (and ultimately the artwork) with a lot of pointless dialogue. She needs to edit herself better.

Storm being against the resurrection of Wanda was surprising. Then again this issue had all the X-Men acting dumb(except Kitty of course because the X-office just adores her for some reason), so really not surprising.

Storm had to let him know she's currently superior lmaoooooooooooooo

I must say I'm so happy to see that Ororo put magneto in his place and he backed down without aggression. Lets take a brief trip down memory lane:
Magneto and Ororo's history started as enemies where he recognized her power early on; however, he always was able to defeat the xmen especially considering they were so green;

Magneto grew to respect Ororo in many ways were in some instances he expressed this and others his actions demonstrated his high regard for her:

-
.... continued
Nevertheless, regardless of his growing respect for her it was always understood by many that he was the strongest that is until very recently. We all know that oroto finally ascended to a real god and the irony of it all is that magneto was calling himself one while ororo was actively denying it. Nevertheless, after becoming the hadari
yao we a saw a glimpse of this when magneto was unable to absorb her lightning like he has done before in the past:

And now the reveal today. That storm makes it clear she is the most powerful and he went away without a fuss yet when faced with Polaris, cyclops, Jean and dajen he had no fear and no reservations. it has been great to see the growth of ororo over the years and I as a storm fan am so happy to be witnessing this. Ororos words though direct and short resonated with him and further proves why she is the omegas omega.

I just thought he ignored her declaration to respond to Mystique's accusation of "bullying".

Ororo was only in one panel if Way of X today, no words, but she looked regal as hellmand I thought you might want to see.

Storm also appears in The Marvels but i still don't understand this book. Way of X she does appear in one panel but i have like no comment on that or X-corp. Nothing positive to say so i;m leaving it alone. lol

thank you for sharing boo. I need to check this issue out. have you been enjoying the run?
and to your point about ignoring her what could he say when the evidence speaks for itself? he didn't flight an eye when he was confronted by members of xforce and xfactor. his response was quite different when in the council.

Yea I found that surprising, I was wondering Storm fans take on it?
Since she is mostly a blank in talking on the whole vote moment it seems it is hard to figure her opinion on the the resurrection vote, so I rather not think to much into it, ever other no vote did not surprise me and ever yes did not surprise me either.

so I had a discussion with another storm friend on this.
I think ororo didn't think it would be fair to resurrect Wanda not even half of who she was. her memories that cerebro would hsve only would extend so far. what about everything beyond that point? the relationships, the experiences she had? also I think thee was an element of wanting to see what would come from the investigation . that said I dont thnk there was malice in her vote, personally speaking.
-
I wasn't really surprised by her vote. Or the other's, for that matter.
It just seems like a very rash (and yes emotional) decision to make without knowing exactly what transpired and How. X-Factor hadn't come to any definitive conclusion as yet before everything was shot to shit. And considering how the issue ended...it was the right choice.

Indeed, I felt the same way, Xavier talking about a very old back up and the uncertainties related to the murder made all the talk about resurrecting Wanda highly premature.

That is a good point and has gone threw my mind as well, The Wanda they have backed up sounds more like her from as old as the Bronze Age and No Fan of Wanda’s would want a Wanda that lost all her character and soul she developed from that point, so that is a good point.
-
I guess upon reflection I could understand why Storm would say no but it was still surprising to me for some reason.

yes dae!! this all of this. I know some will try to paint this as a petty jab but I dont see it as such.
she was very engaged and didn't say really anything. to rush to resurrect her when all facts were not known wouldn't seem prudent to me. so it makes sense.

As much as I like Wanda I can understand why Strom and the others decided against bringing her back. Wanda is not a mutant and she caused so much damage to the mutant populace (unintentionally, I know) that I'm sure everyone has mixed feeling about her revival.

fair assessment. it would have been nice to hear exactly what she voted as she did but I can only conclude that Charles rebutall and Erik's antics were the cause and not necessarily based upon her past actions as that was never brought up. l would think she would be fair and not necessarily to be passive aggressive like I assume Mystique is as they won't resurrect destiny.

Storm's moment in Testament was nice and all but it's long overdue for those two to go at it again. I was sort of annoyed she wasn't in the "fight" he had with the others since they would have been the perfect moment.

I took her not being in the fight in fact as a compliment to her actually. Erik is known for his ego and he wouldn't want that to be bruised in a fight he know he wouldn't win. That's why I took Ororo’s statement and his silence and eventual departure from the room as clear evidence he knows he isn't stronger than our girl. The only reason he didn't have issue with fighting the others is because he didn't see any of them as a real threat.

thats a great idea! when I think on it, where there any events that move her to do anything beyond providing for her village? perhaps shadow king would have looked to possess her again or maybe even adversary considering he feared her alongside forge but I would imagine she would have stayed being a benevolent force for her people. maybe she would have aligned with tchalla at some point to as their nation's border each other.

Ororo was a powerhouse right out the gate and though we went through a major nerf during the the 90s, and a large part of the 2000s/2010s its good fo see she is finally getting the recognition she deserves and being shown as she was created which " was to make her the most powerful woman in comics, and the most beautiful woman in comics."

Preach it!
We have MUCH to catch up on when it comes to not only her power but the name behind that power. No matter what may happen in panels as in the one in Testament, the name of Magneto is that of a powerhouse. Basically, it's long pass time Storm's name carried the same weight (if not more) than folks like Mags in the greater MU. Like in X-treme, the more villainous ones may use their powers in more flashy ways but that does not make them more powerful.
Even as recently as X-Men #1 the guards nearly shat their pants when they saw Magneto while Storm was literally right there.
Hi all. I was just curious: How long have y'all been posting in the CBR Storm Appreciation threads? I just want to know how long some of us have been preaching the good gospel of the Goddess. For me, I started pre-2014. I mostly started posting in the Storm appreciation threads probably around '07-'08.
How about you?
I started writing in this community 2018 but I believe I've checked the forums from time to time on occasions when a google link brings me to CBR forums but other than that I believe I've been registered for a decade or so... maybe more?
I don't even care that much about seeing Storm use her powers on a multiversal level or things like that, I just wish the writers would be smarter and explore her abilities better. We have a character with a wide range of abilities, and reading from the writers things like "we don't know how to exploit Ororo abilities" kind of doesn't stick, they know how to exploit Jean telepathy, Magneto magnetism and the manifestation of powers of the Legion. Why the hell wouldn't they know how to exploit Ororo elemental meteorological manipulation? We have atmospheric pressure, humidity, temperature and solar radiation as the main elements of weather.
It would be possible for Ororo to show more hydrokinesis feats besides the rain effect, it would be possible for Ororo to show more atmospheric pressure feats besides the ear effect, it would be possible for Ororo to show more temperatur feats beyond
the blizzards. The xoffice team could very well exploit Storm using powerful high and low temperatures, from heat blast (such as fire, etc) to energy neutralization with negative temperature.
We could see more Ororo feats with solar radiation without just being solar winds in space. Other users extract their powers from the sun, Shiro and Roberto are one of those. Why the hell Storm has to be limited to space to use solar radiation?
Storm is so versatile that it can simply on any given day use an atmospheric pressure field as a shield and defense, as well as an electromagnetic force field.
But didn't she do exactly those things? Like manipulating water, creating pressure domes, etc.?
Her solo she used planetary magnetic fields to create a lava eruption it's was the last issue 14 or so.... There was another panel somewhere that she was stated to create an earthquake accompanied with hurricanes and storms.
She also caused an earthquake in the Black Panther short animation. It was the first time I saw her use her powers like that and cause an Earthquake.
About The Trial of Magneto:
[Spoil]Storm saying no, by the resurrection of Wanda, it hurt me, I really like the idea of the two of them as friends[/spoil]
Yeah, it did surprise me too but what butterflykyss mentioned a few posts above, I believe it is more befitting. She simply didn't want to bring a Wanda which no one will recognise and that would have caused even more mourn not only to her teams but to her family. Imagine, Wanda resurrected and finding out that she has 2 kids, she has wiped almost the entire mutant population at one point. Etc., etc. I can see why Storm voted NO in this case.
the marvels got dropped a long time ago. I was really hyped for that book but it let me down.
I kinda liked The Marvels and it seems like Storm will have a major role in the next issue since she is going to investigate that Black Dome. Something tells me she will crack it open or challenge Sarah or w/e her name was...

I can't agree more. I was completely surprised that Storm didn't use her powers to push back the moon into space. She could totally do it... but perhaps there wasn't enough time or something?
As far as this week, I still believe that Storm didn't appear that much. I just wish they would be more active with her. :( And Jean and Scott appear this month like for 15th or 20th time... so unfair. :(
