But i am little confused what the problem is about. Monica's powers don't sound anything like storm. And storm's eyes are always blue and go clear when she uses her powers so i don't get the problem with the visual of a black woman who look nothing like Storm having blue eyes when using her power. Seems like a cool visual and in fact it actually amps me up for Storm even more.

This right here! They were testing a lot of things for Storm this last episode in WandaVision. If you missed all the hints, it is your fault! :D

You do know that monica can also become visible light right? and as such can alter her eye colour as she sees fit. Her changing eye colour to blue doesn't take away from storms aesthetic value. Plus it denotes she has activated her power it would have been more iconic with gold which is her signature colour but that's been taken by Carol already.

That's what they said.
They are not poaching it, Spectrum has those glowing eyes as well. It is not something new, it is part of her abilities. Her eyes glow only when she uses her powers and can preserve the world as Energy patterns of different things. I was angry at first as well, but then I found out that this was normal for Monica's powers. She is not copying anyone, it is part of her powerset.
Let's not bad mouth the girl, and see this as an attempt to recreate from comics how energy is preserved and an attempt with the blue eyes for our Goddess. I believe that was partially their aim. They wanted to test it before they use it on the more popular character like Storm. They also tested instant storm in that episode as well, during the Nexus Advertisement, they are preparing themselves for Storm's arrival. I can tell.
But she has never had blue eyes exclusively, that's the issue here. Glowing eyes is nothing new for Marvel characters, let alone Monica. It was just weird in this case that they specifically chose blue eyes especially for a Black female character since in pop culture, there is one very famous Black woman with blue eyes and that is Storm. And it wouldn't be a major issue if not for the fact that we've never seen a blue-eyed Storm in the movies.
Anyway I am a Monica fan so I am not dissing her, I just don't like to see an iconic part of Storm's identity taken away. If we see Monica's eyes glowing different colors based on different spectrums of light she is channeling, I'd be fine with that. And no one here is hating on Monica. As long as they don't try and reveal that Monica and Ororo are long-lost sisters or something.

This is really not a healthy discussion imo
Why are we putting two awesome black women superheroes against each other over eye color, they can coexist yall lol.

It's called fighting for crumbs.
It is NOT Wandavision's NOR Black Panther 2's job to get ready for anyone except who is slated to be in those projects.
That is like saying Blade movie was prepped for MCU-when it there was over a 20 year gap between Blade 1 and Iron Man.

Yes, eh!
A lot of characters' eyes change from normal to "coloured" opaque when their powers are activated...it's not as though Storm has the sole ownership of that transformation.
Storm's eyes go white opaque. Monica's eyes go blue opaque...this really is a non-issue.

I sincerely hope THIS is not what the big plans Marvel has on store for storm was because if it is im out:

Yeah ummm this makes me immediately skeptical. I’m hoping there is a bigger/more critical role if this is the plan. I’ll wait to hear more.
Like maybe she being a galactic ambassador with universal authority and using earth, Shiar & otherworldly resources to push her own mandate. And maybe...these kids are fledgling chimeras she puts under the field mgmt of Gambit, Rogue & Jubilee but work under her overall leadership.

Yea agreed. I don't want to jump the gun but I know Vita had posted a lot of storm merchandise and it was assumed they were writing storm solo but we later found out vita was writing this book.
Your take on this would be ideal. Her having that type of influence on a galatic level would be pretty impressive.

True!
When Jean has the Phoenix Power, her eyes go from green to white. Even without the PF, Jean's eyes are sometimes portrayed as white or pink. It's a Power Thang, lol!

Storm is going to the Shi'ar, out in space, to collect on her favour owed.
She is not staying on Earth to train/chaperone/mentor teenagers who may or may not be mutants. I could possibly see her showing up once or twice but...80's Xavier, she is not.

Yea hopefully she just shows up for a cameo on her way to space. I'll give it a try but this just doesn't pique my interest.

it doesn't pique mine either. I prefer goddess who preserves the balance of all natural things over the mother hen.
no thanks!!
