[QUOTE=skyvolt2000;5345613]You want it to sell-she better do more than be background or supporting cast.
If we are talking a $3.99 book MAYBE but this will be priced higher.
Folks are not paying for covers cameos. Looking at that book-it's a PASS. At least list the stories so folks will know who EVERYBODY is doing the book. Funny DC can do that. Why is that an issue here?[/QUOTE]
yes they are. Its why Marvel does it. Covers do help sell books. This is nothing new and literally a tactic they've done for decades. With any luck she will at the very least cameo bc they've put her on covers where she wasnt even mentioned

Random question: How many languages can Storm speak? I would say:
-English
-Arabic
-Swahili
-Hausa (I'm pretty sure she spoke it in a Black Panther issue by Priest)
Am I missing others?

Plus Japanese, Wakandan, Russian, probably several additional African languages. Japanese and Russian were probably telepathic uploads, but still very impressive.

in marauders # 4 she was speaking in brazilian portuguese with that soldier if I'm not mistaken.

didn't realize she spoke so many languages! very nice!

I think it's misleading and I wouldn't blame fans for writing to them telling them how misleading it is.

The fact Shuri and Riri are getting more to do in this book than Storm is just stupid. But not surprising lol.

If that is the MAIN cover-I would take issue with it. The main cover should be everyone who is in the book. At least the leads.
And NICE that they got a Milestone alum in Ho Che Anderson and Chriscross.

There is a reason for that.

Riri- I SUSPECT something with her is coming out next month.
Most if not all of those folks with stories have SOMETHING outside of comics going on.
Miles will have a new figure out and I would not be SHOCKED if we see DLC for his game.
This speaks VOLUMES to me. This falls on the feet of the X-Office.
-
Once Storm is introduced to the MCU, her comics version will finally get a big push. Shuri and Riri already on the MCU train(at least Riri is already cast with a D+ show in production).

Enh!
Regardless of the "occasion" I don't care for Storm being written and illustrated by some up-and-comer, anyway.
And besides...the ONLY reason some of you would have even considered picking this up is for Storm and ONLY Storm...it's not as though you all are heavily invested and supportive of the product and what it stands for. So...you don't lose anyuthing.

Nice find, although I prefer Storm to not wear gloves. I'll always love this design and this is my default look for Storm as whenever I think about her this is the first uniform I think of.

Last panel is definitely setting up for Storm in the future.
[spoil]Also the way she stopped that hammer! We've rarely ever seen her use lightning defensively at point-blank range, it acted like a force field[/spoil]

Exactly right! LOVED this issue! Cannot wait to see what they are planning with her (with possible Shiar connections). Part of me is thinking galaxy earth mother warrior type vibes :)

it definitely was a [spoil] em field [/spoil]. that was pretty badass

I don't know what it was exactly, but it was cool!
Loving the red undercape, reminds me of X-Treme. Fun little issue, got to admit the Image/Homage Studios vibe to the art was nostalgic in an enjoyable way. I know some people don't like Booth for various reasons, but strictly in terms of art he did well. Hickman's writing errs on the dry side more often than not(at least when Roberto is not around), so his punchy style livened up the book, especially under Gho's colors.

[spoil]The end of X of Swords already mentioned that Ororo gazed at the stars and the Dawn of X teaser shows her with that little SWORD thing.
Definitely the immediate future of Storm is space.[/spoil]

the art was pretty bad to me especially the action parts but in terms of what happened:
,[spoil]lightning shield or em shield most likely the latter[/spoil]
no one can say she is a glass cannon anymore.

I always have a soft-spot for early Image art. Between Jim Lee's WildCATs and J Scott Campbell's Gen 13, their digital coloring techniques from Homage Studios were far in advance of what Marvel was doing at the time. I still like it. Booth is the weakest of that artistic clique(wait, excuse me, second weakest after Liefeld), but he worked for me in this issue.
The feat was a bit obscure, but it does make for good battle forum fodder.

my biggest complaint with the art was that it was hard to tell what was going on during the action sequences. it was really jumbled together.
feats like the one today makes me miss claremontian style writing. it my be unclear exactly what she did but what is clear is she blocked the attack with her powers. also not clear is how strong urr but he was able to knock out Scott with one hit.
also one other complaint is enough with lightning lass lol
