she can be both. her mutation and gift of godhead though both a part of her are two separate things where the latter being something that goes much deeper:

I kinda see it like saiyans. whenever a threat requires it they turn super saiyan but they don't walk around in that form or fight in that form all the time.
I was having a little discussion on twitter and curious on the storm fans thoughts here. did you like how storm was characterized in xmen red? for me going in to it I was hopeful that she would be showcased in a favorable manner but as the story progressed that became apparent not to be the case. some of the things I didn't care for were her relationships with characters like tchalla and merino being secondary to jean who never even knew them prior to the book, and her lowballing of powers such as her trying to kill herself with lightning and forgetting she can manipulate ocean currents. also, for her and jean to be "sisters" there interactions never felt as such. I think the book would have been better for me had storm not been in the book but what are your thoughts?
Jean talking more to T'Challa than Ororo did and they were in a relationship??? hmmm no no:

Storm trying to kill herself with lightning being immune to the elements??? uhm no thanks:

and did storm even say one word to nehzno the boy she helped mentor and respected hr for being queen of wakanda:

I believe that X-Men Red did well showing her summoning a tsunami. It is rare to see her use her powers on such a scale and it was original. At least that is my thought, other than that I did dislike the part which you point out, her trying to kill herself with lightning... I would have believed it more if she tried to suck out her own breath or burst her own body from inside out only for Jean to stop her before she completes it or something but I think this moment was more aimed at her being protected by someone, in this case Nezhno.
I am not angry that Jean spoke longer with T'Challa, I don't think they had a relationship or something like that, I didn't get that type of vibe from it but what I did like in X-Men Red is how Namor was different when it came to Storm, his behaviour towards Storm in X-Men Red was rather of a man who is in-love with her, or like her than anything else. I am disappointed that they didn't give her a chance to speak with T'Challa.
I’ll take her being god like or magical over being Wolverines personal fan for 8 more movies lol
I am not sure what you mean by that comment. I would definitely keep Storm away from a relationship with Wolverine, this brute is simply not for her. I am not even sure how they could put her with him, I found it absolutely disgusting.

Honestly, I never liked Wolverine, since the TAS anime, I just disliked him big time. I've always seen the Wolverine as a wild animal and nothing else. When they put him in TAS with Storm as a girlfriend in the future arc, this was the moment I started to hate him even more. Even today, I still don't get what people like that much about him... and when the X-Men movies concentrated on him, as well. My hatred towards him grew and became permanent. I just really dislike this character with my entire being and I do want him as far as possible from Storm. She doesn't need him.

there were some cute moments, the tsunami feat being one of them, but overall it left a lot desired for me. i thought a better way to off herself would hsve been striking the tree and letting it fall on her body.. nehzno could have still been used to protect her. nevetheless, thanks for sharing your thoughts here !!!

I didn't say that she wasn't lacking, quite the opposite she could have have done more feats, but the tsunami one was good. But yeah when I read X-men Red and read how Storm is planning to take her own life with lightning, I laughed hard. I mean, the first thing that came to me was that she actually is immune to lightning. So, from that moment onwards I didn't expect much of the series.

yea I think that is when I checked out the series too. I vaguely recall tim Taylor saying they figured if she could make herself immune to lightning then she should be able to essentially know how to kill herself with it. made zero sense to me but that was the rationale he made on twitter.

I like seeing Storm ascending to Hadari Yao. While I think Nnedi Okorafor's comic-writing is just ok, I do like the way she has portrayed Storm. In both the Shuri series and in World of Wakanda: X-men, her Storm is has been well written overall.

yea I thought her writing was just ok too. I also didn't quite understand her depiction of the hadari yao versus coates'. her version almost appeared like she was possessed or something which wasn't how Coates depicted her hsdari yao form. now I would agree watching storm move super fast to block massive lightning blasts was delicious to see!!!
Comic Vine is one of worst comic sites to Storm and her fans.
That is why, I've put a few rules. We can do battles only with Printed Comics, without the "she should be able to do that as per her powerset, but she hasn't done it in comics yet".
Plus, we have to admit that sometimes Storm fans are ridiculous on the comic vine, putting feats and accomplishments to Storm which she didn't reach and think that she can take on everyone and everything, without the actual proof. I've seen quite the ridiculous claims in the battle threads about her, and even as her fan, I am displeased by some Storm fans who think that Storm can do everything, when she clearly has some kind of limitations or hasn't achieved that power level, yet.

What do you guys think about after the first three x-men movies Storm gets depowered onscreen for a movie or two, until obviously regained her abilities?

I doubt it otherwise they would have advertised Storm's presence more. I feel like we won't get confirmation of Storm's big plans until after the Hellfire Gala/ when she officially Marauders.

If Claremont tried to depower Storm for as long as he ended up doing in the 80s he’d have been called every kind of -ist and -phobe on social media and forced to rectify it by editorial. I highly doubt the MCU is gonna try to recreate that phase of Storm’s character as the optics of having a black X-woman (likely the only prominent one at that) lose her omega-level mutant powers for even a brief period of time probably won’t go over well among casuals.
They don’t read comics or understand context. I’d personally love to see it and maybe we will get a few scenes with a depowered Storm but I don’t see Marvel stripping her of her powers for an entire movie, let alone two. I actually think they’re more likely to explore her divinity and mystic affinity than take her powers away.

Ooh, I hope not. I hated when it happened in the comics and really do not want to see that on-screen!
Some people even say her minimal use in previous films was Storm's depowering. No more of that, please.

Storm depowerment is a vital part of her story as much as her ascension to godhood. LifeDeath was to Storm what Bane backbreak was to batman. I admire Ororo even more for being Godlike and then having to prove she is still a force of nature without her mutant gifts. I feel these type of treatment is only saved for male characters. And I feel if used correctly it could be a powerful scene and make an effect emotional point to what theme or plot twist the movie is going through

I felt like Foxmen essentially depowered her throughout her tenure within that franchise so I wouldn't like this. Lets finally get a truly powerful Ororo onscreen.

hell yes, especially to the last part. I want to see her be a proactive badass within the mu.
we don't see carol, scarlet witch, black widow being mentors and babysitting. we see them doing exactly what you said you would like to see from storm getting is done so why is it she is not shown as such and? and I dont think it's really mean to say as from I've managed to gage there doesn't appear to be much interest in the series.

Could be done in TV format. If there's one thing that wandavision taught us it's that these comic book storylines can very well be adapted into a miniseries.
Also how do you y'all feel about the claustrophobia? Do you feel like it's on this should be highlighted since it is part of her origin and a pretty big traumatic moment in her life or do you feel like it should be forgotten about.
But then again they already did the whole buried in the rubble next to your parents thing with Wanda and Pietro...

Nope, big no. I hated that era in the X-Men comics, I hope they don't show it in the movies. I might swallow it for one or two episodes if she gets a solo TV Series of at least 12 episodes, 1 hour each. But other than that. I don't want to see that.
And something a bit off topic, but Kyss and the others who follow the twitter media, should really check out this video and retweet the message:

Let's Marvel Studios hear us and recast T'Challa, if they re-cast T'Challa we are that much closer to getting the real Ororo Munroe which we all know. Let us spread the word and make them recast.

I think they should do the claustrophobia for the first one or two movies or 1-5 episodes if it is a TV show, but then I want to see her conquering it as she did it in the comics. She isn't bothered by it anymore, therefore, I sure hope we will see it conquered by her will and determination just like she learned to become Omega Level Mutant. I think it would be a good story.
And yes, so true. These comic storylines can be put into miniseries, each season dealing with different comic storyline.
