The only positive i can think is pushing back the release a month delays the trade release a month or so which since they are switching publishers and the new distributor is a black woman who is a big fan of BP it could mean better print ratio, into the hands of more people. I mean no good for me, but maybe good for you. lol But for me it could also mean a bigger push for the relaunch since, again supposedly she is a big BP fan. There was an article about her let me see if i can find it.

So from a business standpoint it could mean big things but it could mean nothing. But the potential is there.
ong that would be awesome if a black woman was allowed to write the next BP series. I would love love love it! im sure she wouldn't write him as vita did in the xbooks. thanks for that heads up!.
Storm-bias aside, I think objectively speaking Storm has a lot of potential for solo adventures. She has connections to street level heroes and Harlem through her dad’s side, she has somewhat unexplored mystical roots through her mother’s side, she’s interesting visually, she has a versatile powerset, and as previously discussed on this thread I’m sure there’s some story to tell about her identity as a black woman. I think the main challenge of writing a Storm series would be finding villains that can challenge her because she’s so powerful (but he Superman does it on a monthly basis so it must be possible).
agreed to this 100%. storm has tge potential to be just as big as ww is for DC but the xoffices don't think big when it comes to these potential stories. like who on earth there would think readers after everything Coates has done to develop the character would want to read about her mentoring some no name z list potential mutants ? give her a corner of the mu with her own rogues with god-tier level villains. she could be, as a part if her pantheon, fighting to preserve the balance on earth, as well as being the earths literal ultimate protector, while fighting to protect mutants and humans alike.

You really despise these children huh. Well can't blame you it feels to mammy to me.
-
You really despise these children huh. Well can't blame you it feels to mammy to me.
I dont despise them but I think Ororo is bigger than being a babysitter. Get Jean or Emma or Kitty doing that. Ororo is a goddess but the xmen just loves to pull her down to those stereotypical "mammie" roles of yesterday when she became Kitty surrogate mother during the early days of xmen. I want her saving the planet, fighting cosmic beings testing her newfound Godhead abilities.
-
you are absolutely right. the xoffices stated they had big plans for her but the summer is almost here and yet we still know nothing. I know writers are not obligated to acknowledge necessarily what another writer has done for a character but considering this development was so meaningful its frustrating that they wouldn't attempt to add some of this to whatever plans they have for her.
Yep exactly that's why I want a fan fic writer to do something inventive with the godhead and her lineage and lore. I mean if they won't give us what we want we might as well create it for ourselves. Like I said sometimes you have to bring the mountain to Mohammed.
-
I kind of think that it's more likely we get a good Storm movie/tv series at Marvel, before a comic. When that happens then they'll finally push a regular solo book in the comics.
-

I wouldnt mind that. the funny thing you mentioning fanfic is that some would call coates' work fanfiction because of some of the reveals within the book. for me, I think Coates did enough to establish a good baseline for the xwriters. they know storm fans want to see this explored but the excuse they give is that they have lined up already a direction they want to take the character in; however, that issue of marauders doesn't seem to follow that line of thinking.
like that analogy of bringing the mountain to Mohammad.

I really like the idea that Marvel will start investing in prequels for some of the X-Men that have more interesting backstories. I think a Wolverine D+ series would be a good direction for the character in live action and a series focusing on Ororo's life in Egypt and then the Serengeti seems like a strong option for her. Could easily do it like the Mandalorian, every episode she's in a different part of Africa dealing with all kinds of problems as she slowly develops her powers and makes her way down into her ancestral homeland.
One episode she's stealing a mystical gem from one of the great merchants of Cairo, next she's deep in the swamps running away from mutant traffickers, then she finds herself in the vast savannah of Tanzania as an evil sorcerer causes a drought, and so on. There's lots of potential in a Storm prequel series. She had a full life long before she encountered the X-Men and it's a unique story that could be done justice as its own project instead of just a flashback in an X-Men movie.

I found this fluid simulation game and it reminds me of Ororo’s powers. This must be what it looks like to her when she’s manipulating energy patterns to control the weather. And it explains how she does so well with fluid mediums such as air, plasma, and water because of their ability to flow and create such patterns.

On another note does storm have the power to directly control the seasons? I know she can make it cold as winter and make it as warm as winter but can she induce spring and autumn conditions tooo?

As part of the Avengers, I'm almost certain T'Challa will be at the HF Gala...I wonder will he and Storm interact?
As part of the Avengers, I'm almost certain T'Challa will be at the HF Gala...I wonder will he and Storm interact?
I'm sure we'll get a throw away panel or two. What i'm wondering is if that's when they'll announce what the plans for Storm are. They are really keeping that close to the chest.
-
I think we might get some indication of Storm's intent in the next issue of Marauders.
As part of the Avengers, I'm almost certain T'Challa will be at the HF Gala...I wonder will he and Storm interact?
For all intents and purposes I think Marauders #13 ended the relationship, I see no reason for them to interact outside an awkward throwaway panel or two. Storm seems to have much bigger things to attend to that seem to be cosmic in scope and we have several reasons to believe the next Black Panther book won’t be building on whatever Coates and Ayala tried to do with T’Challa. Maybe a polite “Hello Ororo”, “Hello King T’Challa” and they keep it pushing.
-
As part of the Avengers, I'm almost certain T'Challa will be at the HF Gala...I wonder will he and Storm interact?
I would hope NOT.
It's past time to let that go.
Until EVERYONE (ESPECIALLY the X-Office) agrees to be onboard with them together. No shade or messy behavior.
Understand EVERYONE is under the Marvel banner. EVERYONE.
If they are aiming for it to happen outside of comics-then comics can not be a shadefest by the X-Office.
-
Marauders 13 didn't end the relationship. Geesh I know you lovelies don't like the relationship but that is a lot of reaching lol
-
I didn't mean interact in a fawning, awkward manner...I'm more thinking they will acknowledge each other respectfully, perhaps even a bit stoically.
And I'm SO looking forward to this issue...

How can you possibly see that ending and say they’re still together lol. He says don’t come here unless I say you can. Burns the gate for added effect. Just because he was worrying for her safety during KIB doesn’t mean that he wants to get back together or that she still wants to be a part of his life. Wasn’t she flirting with Wolverine like a month after lol? They’re done until further notice.

I’ve seen an interesting theory floating around online that the mysterium being stockpiled by SWORD is actually going to be used as the basis for a new intergalactic currency since one of the subplots in Ewing’s Guardians is that the cosmic economy is in free fall. Maybe SWORD is trying to give mutantkind control of integalactic commercial activity and somehow Storm’s powers have a role to play in that. I don’t know how, but I find the idea interesting especially since we know she has connections to the Shi’ar after saving Xandra.

she was drunk in that Wolverine story he's only got eyes for Jean.
and the only thing that story did was make diplomacy between Krakoa and Wakanda more difficult. nothing in that issue said their romance was over.

I agree.
I'm thinking something definitely more cosmic-related and far-reaching.

Let’s say you steal an important family heirloom from your man, beat up his sister, he tells you not to come back to his house unless you got a good reason and let him know first, and he blocks you on social media. The following week you out there drunk and flirting with an old ex of yours. You’re telling me y’all are still together lol.
T’Challa and Storm still have residual feelings for one another but have accepted their positions as leaders of their respective people and aren’t dating in any conventional sense of the word.
-
Storm only appears in the final page of "The Marvels" guys. I'm curious to see how Storm interacts with Aero since she's pretty powerful air elemental in her own right.

I get the line of logic but considering tchalla was still fighting to save her in kib and referred to her as his love, which came after xos, its safe to assume they still together. ororo made a stupid idiotic decision that jeopardized the interactions of their country but they are still together.

The Marvels was actually quite interesting and really great! I loved it. It is a fresh take, with new characters and interesting concept of anywhere, anyone, anytime. It could grow into a fine MMORPG if the Marvel Title represents it well :D

its the latest indication their romance is intact. certainly he wouldn't refer to his ex in thst manner. not a man as proud as tchalla.
what is the premise of the book?
It is about events that happen 24/7, a lot of action. From the first issue, we had like 3 of those, one in the past in the 80s', a second one in the middle between 80s' and 2020s', and a third one that happens a few days before the final thing.
So far, we had a new villain, Lady Lotus (at least, I don't know about her, but it might be an old one). We had Vulture vs Spiderman fight and finally, a big explosion, caused by Punisher's enemies (or himself, not sure), where actually Storm and the others go to check what has happened.
We also get a new character named Kevin Schumer, who seems to offer spins around NYC, for fans who are willing to pay big, for the chance to see their heroes in the middle of an action and also a city tour throughout the numerous, well-known HQs for the different teams, like the Baxter Building and the Avengers' Mansion.
I liked it because it also showed the heroes daily life, like, for example, Steve and Carol, having lunch in the middle of the park where people play around them, and some take photos of them. Quite a cute moment because it shows Steve's taste in food from his time. It was quite natural. I loved it. It was a completely fresh take. There is just too much happening to explain it all, and it is better to read it.
Hellfire Gala Guide was a good one as well, showing a funny interview between Emma and a reporter, as well and all the outfits of all the Krakoa teams (current and future) that will be worn during the Gala night.
As far for the X-Men Legends #3, I just didn't like it. It was completely boring for me. Well, maybe with the exception of Jean hosting the Phoenix and Madalin in her mind. That was the only cool thing, oh and the adopted son (Christopher) of Cyclops and Madeline.

Wakanda will definitely be in the building. T'chall has to come. Hopefully Ayo too since her profile is rising recently.
You know, Ororo is setting her sights on the stars, meanwhile the Black Panther might inherit an entire Galactic Empire by the time Caotes' run finishes (whenever the hell that happens)...
I'm just sayin', maybe their future interests are more aligned than people think.
