I have to say that I really dislike this outfit. I am still against that cloud hair, hugely against it... it doesn't feel Storm like and what about that Jacket and Boots... no, just no. I feel like I've travelled back in time, during the war between the Blues and the Reds, their high ranking soldiers used to wear those pamphlets...
Immortal Xmen:

Storm will probably be like a backup guest star in that comic. She hasn't done much in the Quiet Council, so I don't expect her to do much in Immortal X-Men, even though I have to admit that the book has a nice name that fits more along the lines of Immortals like Gods, like Storm. Also, did anyone else notice Scott's visor laying on the ground? I wonder what that is about... did they kill him or something...
I strongly believe that Storm will be in X-Men: Red. I was right about the SWORD issue, I was one of the firsts I called out that Storm will become part of the SWORD crew and I was right. I am pretty sure I am right about the X-Men: Red issues too.
I don't believe it is but I don't know where it's from. Plus that narration is horrible! Can we not have her own powers killing her please!?
It could be a good story tell if, for example, her powers were too much that lead to her death only for her to ascend into elemental being or her body and DNA to evolve to a higher, deity, level structure.

Not a fan of the look either. There's just a lot going on. I like the cloud hair and the fact that she is wearing pants( I hate it when Storm is thrown in bathing suits with thigh high boots) but that's it. And spiked shoulder pads? Just bad bad bad. Punk Storm was lightning in a bottle. Everytime they try to recapture the look or era from that time, it falls flat.

I like the cloud hair sometimes but not all the time. I feel it's kind of lazy
When you say "lazy" do you mean conceptually, stylistically or technically? Because in context of all three categories her long flowing "Goddess" hair (in and out of a ponytail) is about as "lazy" as an artist could get.
I miss when Storm had feats of this scale… Haven’t seen anything like that in SWORD at all so far, sadly

you ever draw a clouds in elementary school? So easy someone in elementary could do it. I guess it is an interesting take on a new elemental look to her hair other than lightning

As an artist myself I can tell you, drawing clouds and drawing hair as clouds are two entirely different concepts and execution...and Dauterman the Awesome! and these artists are clearly not producing elementary level artwork.
I watched the Spider-Man movie yesterday, and I can say Electro was awesome, his powers put to good use (of course not totally, but considering the whole script, it was pretty good), but I care about Storm, hopefully Marvel goes beyond the lightning-girl lol.
So just read Demon Day Rising Storm.
It was pretty good.
Of course the Story doesn't creally follow Storm and Thor but I felt they both were handle well.
The duo team work was awesome.
And when they revealed their true God form was perfect.
Kinda would want Ororo Goddess form to take some inspiration from this book.
Also I am absolutely obsess with Mini Ro'
Some of my favorite shots of Ro.

yes I would love for to have a "goddess mode" she can access when facing an opponent worth said power. the moment in that book was really cute.

We're really still dealing with bs like this in 2022?

I don't understand the problem
I don't understand the problem
Just the continued dismissal/ignorance of her established Godhood. Reading the article itself you wouldn't know they "hey, in the main 616 universe, Storm is already classified as a Wakandan Goddess (or storm God if that's the way you want to see it). In fact it's like they go leaps and bounds to bypass that fact to hype up her Goddess revelation here.
Yet, they have 0 issue mentioning her Omega status. Like they are both part of her character and powerset and both should be recognized.
That's the problem.

Fake news. whether they agree or not coates had it said in comics Storm's gift of godhood was her birthright and we also saw her god head come forth in the shuri story. so this article flat out omits things, missed things, or is just flat out not being forthcoming with the truth of the character.
edit: Though the demon days story was simply beautifully drawn and was a pretty good story.

Agreed on all points. Even in the article they linked where she and Thor teamed up, there was still 0 mention of her Godhood. It's just annoying that this side of her gets the back burner since to this day you still have people believing that Storm is a Goddess in name only. I see articles like these as little quick notes to keep the general public informed about this or that character.
Yeah, the art is very pretty!
Side note: Not knocking the story itself just this extremely misinformed article.

yea it is frustrating. until the the xoffices do more to showcase her godhead that will be the prevailing thought that she is a goddess only in name. that said 616 canon has established she is a goddess so not too concerned beyond that. I do have a feeling Hickman is going to finally give us a goddess feat this last issue.

Depicting Ororo as a Goddess, without needing to debate about her mutant abilities or family lineage, is a meaningful way of further empowering the character of Storm and giving her the much-deserved reverence and respect that comes with Godhood.

Speaking truth! It is confirmed, it's just nerve grating that something that is so integral to the character gets swept under the rug.
Did you mean Ewing? :p

We shall see in a few days if it is so. But I doubt that since I feel they have to give Abigail her big finale it is her story afterall.

oof yes Ewing not Hickman lolol.
and it is very aggravating but we've come a long way. I remember when users poked fun at storm fans for saying she was a goddess but look at us now.

the reason I believe so is Ewing stated home would show some goddess stuff as shown in Coates Black Panther book. seeing the issue is ending this weds, and she is about to fight hoards of those villains that easily took out the shiar its the only thing that would make sense. but we shall see.
So this is a bit long but bear with me. I have been doing some reaserch and I think I have a way to gauge Storm's abilities as they pertain to the cosmic.
Now this is blackstarr she is a Jew born in Nazi Germany that was tourtured and brainwashed by them. She came to America and worked as a physicist, where she discovered a scientific principle which allowed her to tap into and manipulate the primal cosmic forces of the universe.

Just like how storm in space can perceive and manipulate the primal natural forces of the universe.

Blackstarr can manipulate these forces to create quasars, meteor showers, black holes, electromagnetism, gravity storms etc. She has nigh unlimited power due to this.
Now I know storm has been toted as a weather manipulator for as long as she has existed... But we as her fans know there is something much deeper than that going on, what if weather is but an aspect to her true mutant abilities. Because I have a theory that due to storm experiencing claustrophobic trauma before the onset of her powers she yearned to breathe hence her powers as they usually do adapted to enable her to govern the very element to breathe air and atmosphere. But as she has done over the years she has demonstrated that her powers adapt to the environment, regardless of whether there is weather or not such as the trion where she manipulated time and space rifts, and in the world where she created a nanobot storm.
She literally experienced sexual assault in the dessert just before her powers manifested and I as a sexual assault survivor knows exactly how suffocating that is. It makes perfect sense why she is able to apply her self to do things beyond weather such as manipulate ocean currents and channel the power of a galactic core a region which has millions of stars, a supper massive blackhole and an unfathomable amount of cosmic energy. Storm absorbed the totality of all that power no problem becoming celestial body for the briefest moment. That is not weather manipulation that is something else entirely something much more profound than even weather manipulation itself. She Saying the cosmic forces gives her material and spiritual sustenance makes me believe that storm doesn't really need air to be able to survive in space but has tricked herself into believing that because of her fear of crushing suffocation. I mean she told silver surfer she does her best work in an atmosphere meanwhile her single greatest mutant feat channeling the galactic core only happened when she surrendered herself to the primal cosmic forces for the briefest moment. This shows how deep this mindset really has her expression of power.
This would be an excellent storyline for storm in xmen red if it is a storm led book where she is told by tarn that she is suppressing aspects of her mutant abilities from fully expressing themselves because of her past trauma. It would make sense the set up is there from sword 8. And would be a perfect way to bring back the more edgier aspects of storm which warrants the new costume due to her now fully and totally engaging with all aspects of her abilities and herself.
Remember black vortex when stork saw her self in the mirror and she was literally going super nova and destroying a planet? I always wondered why was that in her repertoire what has supernovas got to do with weather. Till I realized her power might just go deeper than the weather itself. I mean she herself made this realization in her solo which pushed her to directly manipulate the entire planet's geomagnetic field. Something we all thought was a magneto at his most powerful thing.
But as surely as the sun rises and sets I know this storyline would never cross the mind of the xoffice. So I implore any of the fan fic writer's here to kindly take this idea and give it life. so at least we get the storm story we all truly deserves as her fans, like what Coates was giving us with her divinity. I would like to do it but I don't think I have the writing talent to handle something like this. And a story of this magnitude needs talented writers.
I just want to sit back and read good stories with storm in them that acknowledge all of who the character is. If there is a white character or any other character that never has to hear the words no or that's too much power etc, i don't see why Storm has to to deal with. i don't want to have to speculate how her powers work, or godhood or divinity, i just want to sit back and at least know people have the fortitude to do as right by the character as they would a iron man or a thor, or the reboot queen Ms. Marvel. That's it, no dictating stories or anything else, just want to sit back and get to read and enjoy limitless possibilities like we do with a million other type of characters. I don't think that's too much to ask.
It also feels like storm and black and brown characters always have to talk about how they have no limits because a lot of these writers and editiors instead of figuring out how the character ticks apparently are too busy "not understanding how weather works." or trying to come off as "authetic" (whatever that means.) But i've learned when someone doesn't want to do something they usually get willfully dumb about it.

Ikr! me having to do Reaserch on how they can expand storms abilities beyond throw lightning and wind is honestly becoming annoying and off putting, it was fun at first speculating and shit but now it feels like actual work because you just know no matter how much creative you are we would always get lightning lass and gust gal.
It's tiring having to justify why storm should be Able to have and explore the totality of her power when most white charachters even the most obscure get to become gods every other month. I mean carol can now create an avatar of cosmic energy... Meanwhile storm is still spinning tornadoes and throwing lightning. Infact storm is even less creative now than she was 40 years ago! Like damm talk about charachter regression. And you feel you can't complain cause they placate her with these big titles which have no true bearing on the actual fucking plot. Like if she was not doing much with her powers but was active in the plot other than some glorified background charachter it would make be better, but neither? Like TF
we cried out for a storm solo and got gambit with a kid storm feature.... I am tired and done, happy holidays and happy new year.
