Cant help but be selfish? -- so Ill tag this again as its as clear as any adult opinion -- do not use children to justify your point -- and then generalizing that every 12 year old are immature in another post -- as your excuse to justify the "use and abuse of children" Don't worry I can cope with shit posting in character fan doms -- although this is where I will draw the line -- Just making sure this is clear to you -- DONT BRING THAT BELIEF OUTSIDE OF THIS FORUM- we can shrug off whatever verbatim you throw -- but call a kid "Immature" at age 12 anywhere from the tip of the follicles down to toenails ever again and I'll never stop correcting how wrongful that statement is -- that word is one the most abusive and the worst word choice to be used to any kid -- if you can't respect other's opinions of Ororo's depiction the way you warrant respect to your "opinions" then by all means as an adult -- PLEASE RESPECT REAL 12 year old by not condescending their maturity level even if its delayed, advanced, or not adjunct to your beliefs or what you perceive as "maturity" and using it on children -- that's contradicting your first point about respecting kids in general -- and stop claiming on behalf of science - no science generalizes children's brains as immature at 12 -- its studies of brain development, situational theories, emotional growth and child - parent psychology - but definitive not meant to measure a child's worth of respect for his/her own development -- the studies suggest that this is the stage that parents are encouraged to start the talk about safe sex for real -- (the story again did not have a parent figure - you are totally missing that point but sure be morally self righteous about it - like I said reconciliation of adult readers can be addressed too if needed more) again this is not just about you -- stop being selfish -- no kid should even read comics with these issues without parental guidance at all - EJD had an excuse because Storm is fictional and cater to ages but you brought here the debate topic about real 12 year old maturity --- you don't get that excuse -- backed up by what study and under who's license I can sue? with this post? here?
and yes abuse come in a lot of forms too - not just physical -- if its still not clear to you then its my accountability as an adult to keep an eye of potential abusers who doesn't even know that this is an abusive word and that you lost your case on that very statement alone --now I could care less how you want to rally a lot of fans to condemn EJD down to his grave for that belief that Storm should be written as someone who can't feel mature love fictionally or act on her curiosity coz its fiction -- but I see you using that abusive word again on the pretext of real children -- I assure you I am so not wasting my professional time correcting you over and over and over again -- until you get that its not just your emotional maturity that matters which still doesn't give you an excuse to use "I care for a child who will read this" like a Munchausen syndrome -- and then give yourself away -- No -- you don't need a change of mind -- what you need is a reality check and an actual call out to that word -- are we clear? so for now move on - reconcile on your own issues about this issue without using the children you can't care to respect in reality or belief -- I am not stopping you if you want to help children in your community -- maybe you would get the importance of word choice to children when you actually deal with real 12 year olds -- and I am not kidding --
we all have our own morals -- and backgrounds -- but you don't go relentless shit posting unverified claims about real trigger words and expect an applause -- regardless how popular you are -- stating it here and actually experiencing it are two different things -- you should have known about that "word" if you really were "helping" kids out to back up your "claims" -- coz I dare you call yourself a victim again by tagging me again when I already stopped tagging you -- about something I can defend left right up and down legitimately -- what do you mean you won't take the bait? you sure? -- this is a storm appreciation thread stop making this about you --
Yet here you are still going on about this. I didnt even read most of this but i hope it gave you peace. Or last word or whatever.

My utter disinterest in the story aside, those Legends covers are quite good.

I was actually referring to the Legends: Black Panther covers.
Although...I'm not reading X-Men Legends either...as I'm not into the whole nostalgia kick, they do not interest me at all.

How many people do that though?I know collectors but do a lot of people buy comics for just the covers?
Also for the 12 yr old:-Pretty disgusting IMO, I thought it was like 16-18+.Not saying it doesn't happen and as said Ororo grew up quickly and doesn't have any education on this but if they will depict it(which, why?It doesn't add anything to the story IIRC) it should be why education on such stuff is important and why it's a bad thing.I'm sorry but IMO 18 is the bare minimum age maturity wise and that's w/ proper education, I'd still say a bit higher.I get Ororo aged fast but it's still so..... so gross.

I love the way the XCM Storm used her "ice powers" in X2 and Dark Phoenix.

LOL. Good thing I've never been that gullible. Storm may be one of my favourite Marvel characters but that doesn't mean I'll read everything and anything regardless of quality that they put her in. Worse yet if it's another retelling of past stories.
I think we still have Storm story content in 9 - end. We know she is fighting the Lethal Legion I believe in #10.
Love the BP/Storm varient cover <3…
I heard that Sword ends up on issue 11#, is that true? I'm sending good vibes the issues where Storm will face the Lethal Legion, I expect some creative attacks from Al Ewing ..
it should be interesting to see if storm and miss brand have some major friction at some point.
Brand doesn't know who she's messing with, she's stepping on eggshells lololol

Amazing, and when will the Black Panther comics written by John Ridley come out??
-
And duly noted that while Brand did block the call for "earth's" help -- for whatever reasons such as hiding the wanda murder etc or making sure Krakoans get the credit for the response and hence the "avengers" wouldn't have come to their rescue to steal that and yet she personally called Wakanda Prime -- yup curious what was she up to?
A friend of mine said that Brand is using Storm's face and popularity to trade Mysterium, although I think it's something else Brand is hiding.

I think most collectors do and listening to some of the ppl talking in my LCS I think some do get the books for the cover hence (I'm assuming) why some comics have multiple variant covers. I don't have that type of money space or time for all that. Lol

Its a challenge and extra but make up as a nice collection piece once completed -- especially when its hard to get storm solo (hellfire gala allocations were nuts!) and gets an image reveal closest to pre-order deadlines -- so it gets an interesting "chase value"...
-
So regarding the Dickey's storm book I didn't like it for several reasons:
1. It completely basterdized Claremont story in an effort to make Storm a damsel in distress. Ororo saved Tchalla in the original story but in this story it was reversed.
2. She was overly concerned with fitting in with the group of orphans in her group In the before the Storm mini she was the confident woman we've always known since her debut in 75. This was not the case in Dickey's book.
3. The wanting to get pregnant and becoming a woman seemed very ooc for storm so I wasn't feeling that at all.
Those are just a few things I could recall off the top of my head. Im curious to see which version this new story will use. As mentioned dickeys story was retconned with the Amazing Xmen annual but very curious to see which one they will use. Im hoping its the Claremont story.

I agree, I meant how many people buying comics are collectors.Making a comic book whose main/best selling point is covers can't be profitable if no. of collectors as compared to total buyers is low.

I get that.
I've just always been more interested in the personal entertainment value than the monetary/limited edition/rarity value. That's why I very, very rarely ever bought variant covers. And when I did, it was only the one cover I liked, not the regular cover and some of the others.

Dancing with the Stars, Storm Edition. i still love this marauders 14 cover.

Yupp. Death is a sexxxy beast. That's the pair I'm shipping in my heart.

I like the chemistry between Storm and White Sword in X-of-Swords though honestly since she is involved with the galaxy i prefer single and ready to mingle.

death ... sexy.... ?????

you thought those two were cute stormy?
you thought those two were cute stormy?
The two in a relationship? Maybe, if she's not with Tchalla, why not? She is a free minded woman who has a taste for smart and interesting men lolol..
But that's not what I was talking about, so I remember at the time of the beginning of this new phase (Pox / Hox), the news came out that Storm would have a big role and prominence, and then there was this cover of her dancing with Death, the that made most people create a great expectation, which in the end was not all that, I thought the whole story of X of Sword was very quick, I expected two, three pages of Ororo's fight against Death.
you thought those two were cute stormy?
I have a questionable doubt about Storm and Death. I can't help but think that he is actually quite charming man behind his mutant powers. I do want to see his real face without the mask. However, Storm and Black Panther are number one couple for me personally! BP is quite a hot man and befitting for our Goddess.

I thought we saw a glimpse of it during marauders. or Logan book. but I thought it was deformed looking... like he may have been a burn victim.
I still think that he is a handsome man if he gets ressurected they can fix that...
if you find a pic of him looking cute i will definitely stand corrected. I'm thinking he accidentally did the death stare ability on himself resulting in his deformity.
-
We still do not know exactly what he looks like. In the X-Force battle he removes his helmet to deliver his "Death stare" but his face remains hidden. Besides, Storm can look past any possible deformity even if the more superficial among us can't.
-
beyond his face being deformed i don't think superficiality has anything to do with the fact he tried to kill her. I would imagine that part would be the biggest disqualifier just saying.
-
yea death is giving me zombie vibes.... no thanks

maybe after turning to vampire his regular face was restored?
-
It wasn't personal, just going by the rules of the contest. Which wasn't to kill but to be the first to draw blood. He used his Death Stare out of desperation.

I wouldnt say automatic disqualifier, remember doom locked her in chrome and got a fresh start and her husband secretly was having countermeasures in case he had to fight his wife.

Look, let's really shake! Storm and Callisto! No! Storm and Emma Frost

Yupp. Same with Arkon and Khan. And Forge took away her powers.
It's not that they fight her to prove her strength...more like she fights them to see if they're worthy of her. If they can't tumble her in the Arena how can they tumble her in the bedroom?LOL
