Well i guess it's safe to say, new year same bullshizzle
This is beyond one specific run i mean the mentality in general. This isn't limited to one writer. I wonder why in any couple the writers would spend so much time developing ways to limit the spouse of the main character. It's not like only one writer did it. I really don't get the logic behind that. If this were Reed and Sue or Scott and Jean or Peter Parker and MJ we wouldn't be reading about a character with fail safes in place for his wife.
There are so many other nations/civilizations that fit the bill in the MU as well as Wakanda.
Let's just let them continue to work on the drama building in Krakoa and prepare for Schism II.
Okay, I have a question, multiple choice. Should Storm:
A. Stay on the Quiet Council.
B. Join the Summers/Grey consortium, i.e. the X-Men.
C. Revive her X-Treme X-Men team.
D. Go off on her own and do her own thing.
Storm should keep her council seat imo. You don't always need to strike out on your own in order to effect change, working to sustain the system from the inside can be just as important as disregarding authority. That said, I'd like her to go the route of Magneto and his relationship with SWORD. Despite being on the council, he's representing Krakoan interests as part of a planetary interstellar organization.
I think Storm should do something similar, but with an emphasis on global security. Put her in charge of a coalition of mutants and other human-related species (Atlanteans, Inhumans, Eternals, mutates) under the oversight of the UN. Unlike the Avengers who are basically rogue agents atm, this team (a spiritual successor to Uncanny Avengers) deals with PR between the various subspecies while exploring their ancient connections. At the same time Storm is developing alliances for Krakoa to prepare for a war with those black hole gods.

It's to be expected at this point tbh. Some fans always gotta complain about other characters.
"Storm's" eyes were brown...making that anime invalidated trash.
In anime "blue eyes" are normally reserved for those lacking the genetic markers to have them.
-
I could easily see Xavier and Magneto asking her to take o--[A]--o's vacated seat on the QC. (though my first choice will always be Selene)
With Jean gone as well Kurt can select his own seat mates more in line with his purpose and Spiritual intent.

That's interesting.
Still...it may have been titled X-Men,but that wasn't Storm. Having blue eyes is one of her "genetic markers". That anime needed to come correct or not at all.

Truthfully, I thought she could have been a little bit more volatile...more aggressive.

Tell that to the Foxmen films the anime drew some inspiration from. I liked the Blade anime the most. The X-Men one was horrible. Such a waste of a talented art/animation team. The story and characterization was disastrous.

I always found AoA to be drastically overrated with the exception of Generation NeXt(perhaps a career high for both Lobdell and Bachelo). Storm's role was particularly weak.

the art was the only good thing about that series
And what kind of writers get it in their head that the suppose premiere black couple, that the husband is always foiling the wife. Like how many vaults, weapons, alarms, and codes, Tcchalla going to make to keep his wife in check that are immune to her powers. Like he must know she is a cold blooded theif since he got more protections against her in Doom War, in Coates run, in A vs. X than he got for namor and his enemies. It's crazy when you lay it out like that. Like the most advance nation spending more time developing weapons again they supposed goddess than actual enemies. So i don't see the problem she gave wakanda what they were apparently waiting for.
Correct me if i'm wrong but i don't think i've ever seen Scott create something to make Jean less than or Reed to sue.
Tchalla actually had some foresight to make such a chamber considering she broke into their most sacred chamber and stole a sacred weapon of their ancestor. also Scott cheated on jean, and sue is in a perpetual side chick position with Namor, while Reed, at times, shows little regard for sue. they are certainly not model couple. tchalla has never put another woman before ororo. in fact its been quite the opposite.

Burn it with fire at this. Like this some old 6am stuff after waiting for sailor moon to run up to the r episodes and continously hoping they would get past the episode where serena was fighting the new moon people to save Chibusa. It never happened. lol it wasn't until years later i saw the rest of those episodes.
And reading that the final issue is suppose to be 25 and has no solicitation date. Just let that go, marvel holding that franchise hostage and it ain't even right.
Yeesh i can see how characters can get tied up in stories like these. That Cap on time. lol

IN that regard her mission would alighn perfectly with the xmen, if they are the heros of krakoa and Storm is the face and voice of unity throughout the cosmos. Who better to speak to certain beings than a goddess, cause we've seen most of these marvel gods don't want to hear what mortals got to say.
Even like the shiar god, though the xmen have good relations with them it does make me think maybe one of the betst ways to get a community to listen is by having their deity fall in line too. lol

I tried to watch that the other day, i couldn't make it past episode 3. Honestly the WORST "X'men" show ever imo. I would take the first xmen movie animated over having to see that again. Yeesh. That snow blizzard scene, she could barely take out a sentinel please. Anime and manga always got to make their black characters crappy, if they have any. But i've grown not to suspect much in a culture where all your greatest heros mirror dumb cliche blonde hair. blue eyed people it kind o sometimes makes me shudder to think what they would do with some black characters. Generally though it's the big muscle prison looking dude. Though Radiant breaks the mold. I can't remember her name but they they have some actually good characters of color in radiant.

I've never been a fan of Manga and Anime so I was never interested in it all when it first came out. Then I watched episode one on Netflix recently and was like: Yupp. This is shyt. *press return*

I have a question. if Ororo is an omega level weather manipulator does that mean her abilities would go above what Thor could do?
I've always considered Thor and Ororo as two entirely different classes of weather manipulation. Thor does it with Magic, Ororo does it naturally. I don't think that Ororo can overtop Thor unless she touches on her magical roots and divine inheritance. Thor shifts the weather of the entire planet and created a lightning storm everywhere, completely covering the planet. As much as I dislike how OP Thor is... he is still stronger than Storm, Storm is close, quite close to his capabilities, but he overtops her just with a little. And no, I am definitely not a fan of Thor.

I really don't get the interest in politics and let alone Storm and politics, this is like exactly her opposite. She never liked politics. I am sorry but that story sounds extremely, extremely boring.
Nah, I am rooting for her Divinity/Omega status and getting those stats to the max with her upcoming big change. I feel like Elemental Form is coming.

I agree with you on the bolded. I dont think she has any weather feats that would top Thors.
-
It could be that Storm is Omega weather manipulator[psionic], while Thor is Omega weather manipulator[magic], like how Proteus, Mr. M, Jamie, and Franklin didn't cancel each other out by specific qualifiers of their reality warping. Forge's inventing is purely mental, and on the same frequency as what Reed, Tony, T'Challa or any other inventor does, therefore he has to complete in the same category.
-
Storm creates her storms, and it's been describe Thor can use his hammer to summon any storm that exists in any dimension to do his bidding. So while storm manipulates and creates weather conditions all thor is doing is summoning them and directing them. If there were no Storms in the world he would have nothing to summon but Storm could still make one. But in the end i don't really care, it's a little interesting to see Storm fans come for her own abilities while talking up Fabio, but ok.

I can get behind that. As I mentioned, I qualify them in two entirely different spheres. But all that will change when she unlocks her full divinity and expand on her magical capabilities.
I would imagine Storm creating simulational, several storms on several different planets under her full control. That would be really cool, Omega level feat that Thor will never be able to top.
-
That's just one aspect of Thor's "Storm summoning powers" not the "be all and end all" of his powers.
-
Possibly all i know is i've seen Storm do more without a hammer than i have seen Thor do without a hammer. And i think if Storm had his hammer and Thor had his hammer, Storm would be able top what he would be able to do
Granted though i haven't finished simonson run though, just about 20 pages in so maybe i'll see something huge in there. Got sidetracked with this Blue Marvel story which i recommend but be prepared for some language that is like really probably how people talk about black people in/with power behind their back. But it's goooood so far. LOL
-
So are we saying if Storm was gonna go for the kill she wouldn't have the power to blow Thor brains or heart from the inside!?
-
She probably could but...it's not like Thor would just sit idly buy and allow her to do that. He would put up one hell of a fight and given his current status, would probably have Storm over exert herself to the point where she does irrevocable harm to herself and the world's atmosphere.
And then...apart from an improbable What if...? scenario, or she was possessed by some outside force like Knull...why would they both be placed in such a position?
-

if "natural" displays of power in the omega classification is only considered (meaning magical, divine, cosmic would not be applicable in the assessment of what makes an omega) then I guess this would make sense. I think this explanation should be fleshed out a bit more in those scenarios. to me even if you were to consider those other conditions and they surpassed the mutant abilities this would disqualify them from being omega.
So are we saying if Storm was gonna go for the kill she wouldn't have the power to blow Thor brains or heart from the inside!?
she most definitely could do this!! my initial question though was trying to understand how she can be a weather manipulating omega mutant when you have thor in the mix. I personally think this would mean her upper limits as it relates to manipulating weather would surpass Thor.
-
Storm and Thor are on two separate wavelengths where it comes to their powersets.
And that's before you add experience in using those powersets. While she may very well be capable, Storm has not gone up against and defeated a host of extra-dimensional and cosmic beings that pushed her powers and Divinity beyond their fullest extent...by herself. (She would not have succeeded against the Adversary in Wakanda if it wasn't for the "prayers" of the Wakandans and why I have such an issue with how Coates wrote and pushed development)
She's done incredible and impossible feats, in isolation...the Trion, Galactic Core, hosting Eternity's consciousness...but we have yet to see her really go far beyond her "earthly limits" when it comes to her true potential.
That's what I'm hoping for when we eventually see Storm and the Mysterium interact.

Again, omega is a classification that only applies to mutants in this instance. All power sources are not the same and we don't know the true extant of Thor's power let alone Storm's. And like Devaishwarya said, Thor has thousands of years of experience and his power level has been upgraded even more in his latest solo.
Believe me, I'm not downplaying Storm's abilities but I don't know why the need to quantify her power based on what Thor can do.
