Wormhole creation like magneto. Ewing did stress he is writing a very powerful version so we would wait and see.

Question for the thread: Would you be opposed or approve if Storm got tutored on or off panel by characters like Magneto, Bobby, Gabriel (Vulcan) in using her abilities that overlap with theirs?
Just curious to see everyone's opinions.
Personally, I would love to see her teleporting through the EM field of the planet.
If I recall correctly that was a subset of Siena Blaze -- her mutant ability was anything else but harmless to the Earth's ecosystem.
Personally, I would love to see her teleporting through the EM field of the planet.
I wouldn't call this teleporting though. She's moving physically at light speed through a spectrum (Since everything in the EM field is Light Speed). Teleporting is more about manipulating space so you can't physically occupy the space between or instantaneous speed.

I don't like the idea of Storm being tutored by either of those characters or at all for that matter and I question weather Mags or Vulcan truly have any insights to offer her at this point. If she were to be tutored in anything, it should magic or something to do with her divinity.

I would not think Storm would overlap them. I'll explain below with the tutoring part.
I'm confused as to why she would need training from Bobby? I mean he asked her personally to train him. The only thing Bobby can do Storm can't is transform and make minions. Absolute Zero is debatable if you take into consideration the scan of her making the coldest temperatures possible.
Storm has already replicated several Magneto feats. Obviously, writers know they share a power source the EM Spectrum so writers obviously aren't going to make Storm a fellow mutant better than the deemed "master of EM Spectrum" Which is why whenever (this is what I observe and my opinion) Storm is around other elementals she is often downplayed in power.
Also, Vulcan would be a good one though. I would say Storm is just as good as manipulating energy it's just that Vulcan has more feats and isn't scaled back power level-wise to be consistent with a team. For example, in show fights, Wolverine would have a better showing than Storm in a fight. Obviously, this is the plot because we know who is stronger. It's the same as letting Captain Ameria or Black Widow shine when you're on a team with Hulk and Thor.

I would love to see things like that. Especially since there are things they each could show each other. A mental training issue would be cool. Like i could imagine them bringing up their energy and storm being able to perceive it's color or shape, she might tell them something about it they don't know and they could help her dig deeper. Storm thought she had complete control of her powers but we know Storm had complete control of her powers in the environment she was in.

This makes me wonder, how cold can cold can one make it in space or if the vacuum of space would just absorb the energy.
This makes me wonder, how cold can cold can one make it in space or if the vacuum of space would just absorb the energy.
Now, that's a damn good question... But, some entertain the idea that Storm would probably operate on a different scale while in space and most likely would manipulate solar wind to achieve levels of cold far beyond that of absolute zero.

Interesting and good question. Before I answer I just wanted to point Iceman canonically did ask Ororo for training in using his powers:

Now in terms of them training her I honestly do not think there is anything they could train her in when utilizing her powers as she has always been in full control of it as she stated early on when she first joined the xmen:

That said, i would love a conversation with either of those heroes asking her why doesn't she explore using her powers differently. This conversation could broaden her mind to some of the full possibilities of what she could do. The fact we haven't seen her do anything like this yet is a crime:

I also want to say that it's not about tutoring too. It's about the laziness of the writers. Some have admitted they do not know how to write her so instead of educating themselves... She's given just wind and lightning.

yes. I appreciate their honesty but thats not cute.
also her powers are different in how the work. she is actually connected to the elements and the reflect her emotions. this is what I love about her that is her powers are very unique to her; other elementals whose powers overlap with her dont necessarily use their powers in the manner in which she does.

I'd never seen the actual scan before but I've heard Bobby once asked Ororo to tutor him which is what originally sparked my idea. However, I'm cringing at the art! Storm's brown eyes and both their faces. #aMess
Perhaps the using the word 'tutor' was a mistake. I should have said 'discuss' or something along those lines since tutoring does imply that Storm would lack sufficient knowledge about that area of her powers. So, apologies for that if you or anyone else was offended.
That scan with Gladiator would be perfect for her to replicate again now that she's in radiation central aka outer space.

I understand what you're saying and I agree. However, even with just wind and lightning Storm would be incredibly powerful. So, you are spot on with your assessment about lazy writers.

1. yes they often get her eyes all the way wrong lol.
2. I want offended by the question. I thought it was a good one. I do think ororo could e more imaginative in her use of powers which is definitely why a think some type of discussion would be beneficial. just like she became aware she could manipulate ocean currents when opened her mind to how her powers work I think a similar thing could happen with mags or Vulcan, etc.
3. she's manipulated solar winds which is just radiation from the sun. but to use it like an energy blast as the skrull did that would be sick.
Who else is thinking Dormammu might get the Adversary treatment?

1: I guess remembering basic character traits are hard for some.
2: That's where I was going with my idea. But like Kly360 pointed out, we have (had?) lazy writers who can't think outside of the box.
3: That would be nice too.

Do you think it's theoretically possible for them to bring back all the planets in soul or do you think the new cores, etc, needed for them to sustain life would interfere with each other. Like would it draw more energy from the sun to sustain the life on the planet. I really want to see the entire sol system brought back to life.
And i don't know after reading that link you provided i don't see why storm shouldn't actually be able to reach absolute zero fairly easily if it is fundamentally a matter of subtracting the heat necessary for an item to not maintain it's energy on a level that it is always containing heat. In Storm's case in stead of two forces working against each other she should be able to theoretically change the conditions to subtract heat while also providing cold. Though i suppose that would be much easier on Arrako where she created the climate.

Speaking of Adversary... I do see people downplaying it saying current Adversary isn't written at his classic levels.
I'll debunk that
1. Cable and X-Force #16 2013 it was stated that Adversary "had a mad-on for recreating our existence into his own" which means modern Adversary is still at his classic power level... And even the author compared his reality-warping powers to Q from Star-Trek to describe his powers in the same scan. Q from Star-Trek are powerful pan-dimensional beings whose power are high end multiversal +
https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-c1UrIjG1Ucg/VkVGAm--sdI/AAAAAAAAQhA/IrwjRtPNl3k/s1600-Ic42/016.jpg
Even more proof Adversary is still at his current power level. In the same scan Forge says "Anyhow... My people have battled the Adversary for generations, spent half of my life training for it. A few years back I brought the hammer thought I had him beat"
In this statement, he is talking about his battle against Adversary X-Factor Vol 1 121 (1996) which is a 17-year gap to 2013. The X-Factor storyline shows, Adversary defeats Roma easily and tanks her full-power attack. It is stated by Forge it is the same Adversary from their fight. So it would still be Current Adversary > Current Roma, who tanked an attack by Mastermind, who had a sword with the power split the multiverse trying to kill her, tanked the starlight citadel, the chaos wave, all the dimensions in existence clashing together on her.
Haven using his powers in this Storyline created a plane of existence which was the borderland separating existence and oblivion.
2. What makes this scan even more impressive is that the current Adversary in this story was only a fraction of himself. All of Adversary was in the prison dimension after his third attempt to bring chaos to all worlds and all-time strings. In the very scan, it is explained that a small piece of Adversary survived in Forge's mind and freed itself.
3. The Adversary Storm faced was the full one who freed himself from the prison dimension. The Adversary she faced was also way stronger. He went by the god name Sefako the Twice-Risen God, which he used his servant while in the prison dimension to gather followers to believe in him which would make him stronger with faith and divinity like Storm does in her Hadari Yao mode.
So his power level never changed which is why in BP it was shown to be the classic Adversary Storm faced in the '80s... In fact, he's even stronger now that he gained followers to praise him making his power even stronger than before.

who said he wasn't written at his classic level threats? how the heroes defeated him, his weaknesses everything was virtually a repeat of Claremont's uncanny 227.

I think they say that because on Coates' run he was very contained (To be honest I expected more from him, at least I wanted to he distort reality on a grand scale, something that would at least do justice to its title.)..

True but he did show interdimensional range. He created a storm over Wakanda while in the prison dimension. 616 and the prison dimension are different universes.
Question for the thread: Would you be opposed or approve if Storm got tutored on or off panel by characters like Magneto, Bobby, Gabriel (Vulcan) in using her abilities that overlap with theirs?
Just curious to see everyone's opinions.
She doesn't need to be tutored to be honest. Quoting X-treme X-men here. "observing how lightning was born allowed her to create it". Theoretically, Storm should be able to recreate some of their feats as that is the true nature of how her power operates. To observe and understand the inner workings of elemental phenomenon across the universe and then recreate what she has seen on either a small scale, a large scale or, in very rare occurrences, on a scale that has never been seen before.
The undertones in that Sword #7 thread regarding Storm needing to "humble herself" is a little unnerving tbh. Had it been a less melanated character, or one with a phallus it would've been "yasssssss king/queen! Victor doesn't know you're no pushover! Work hunny!". Y'all need to do a better job of keeping those masks intact. We be seeing y'all. ALL of y'all.
I would not think Storm would overlap them. I'll explain below with the tutoring part.

Hmm... I don't know about all that.
Ororo Munroe -- Powers and Abilities | Omega-Level mutant (formerly an Alpha-Level Mutant )
Storm's power is also mystical in nature, owing to her descent from a long line of sorceresses; which eventually facilitated her apotheosis into a goddess through the worship of the people of Wakanda.
Thus far, she has displayed the following abilities:
Atmokinesis: Storm is one of the most powerful mutants on Earth and has demonstrated a plethora of abilities, most of which are facets of her power to manipulate the weather. Storm possesses the psionic ability to control all forms of Weather Manipulation. She has been able to control both Earthly and extraterrestrial ecosystems on several occasions. She can modify the temperature of the environment, control all forms of precipitation, humidity and moisture (at a molecular level), generate lightning and other electromagnetic atmospheric phenomena, and has demonstrated excellent control over atmospheric pressure. She can incite all forms of meteorological tempests, such as tornadoes, thunderstorms, blizzards, and hurricanes, as well as mist. She can dissipate such weather to form clear skies as well.
Weather Goddess: Her precise control over the atmosphere allows her to create special weather effects. She can create precipitation at higher or lower altitudes than normal, make whirlwinds travel pointing lengthwise in any direction, channel ambient electromagnetism through her body to generate electric blasts, flash freeze objects and people, coalesce atmospheric pollutants into acid rain or toxic fog, and, along with her natural ability of flight, summon wind currents strong enough to support her weight to elevate herself (or others) to fly at high altitudes and speeds. Her control is so great that she can even manipulate the air in a person's lungs. She can also control the pressure inside the human inner ear, an ability she uses to cause intense pain. She can also bend light using moisture in the air and her manipulation of mist and fog to appear partially transparent, and in some cases, nearly invisible.
Storm has also demonstrated the ability to control natural forces that include storms, solar wind, ocean currents, and electromagnetic energy. She has demonstrated the ability to separate water molecules into oxygen and hydrogen via electrolysis, allowing her to breathe underwater. While in outer space, she is able to affect and manipulate the interstellar and intergalactic mediums.[citation needed] Storm can alter her visual perceptions so as to see the universe in terms of energy patterns, detecting the flow of kinetic, thermal and electromagnetic energy behind weather phenomena and can bend this energy to her will.[citation needed]
Storm has been shown to be sensitive to the dynamics of the natural world, and her psionic powers over weather are affected by her emotions. One consequence of this connection to nature is that she often suppresses extreme feelings to prevent her emotional state from resulting in violent weather. She has once sensed a diseased and dying tree on the X-Mansion grounds, detected objects within various atmospheric mediums—including water, and sensed the incorrect motion of a hurricane in the Northern Hemisphere and the gravitational stress on the tides by the Moon and Sun as well as the distortion of a planet's magnetosphere. Storm can view the Earth as weather patterns, and is able to precisely recognize her geographic position through interpretations of these patterns. Storm's mutant abilities are limited by her willpower and the strength of her body. Storm is also able to manipulate earth and fire, create earthquakes and lava bursts.
Willpower/Telepathic Resistance: Something that was gradually gained through Ororo's time with the X-men, Storm has one of the most powerful wills of them all and is a powerful opponent against telepathy in battle. Her resistance is further enhanced by the electrical forces she controls.
Earth Link: Storm's mutant powers have created a psychic bond between herself and the primal life force of Earth's biosphere. This bond with the Earth and apparently the entire universe, gives Storm spiritual and material sustenance with an almost empathic sense towards living thing. Storm also possesses the ability to sense and detect life force and she has once sensed a dying tree in the Xavier Mansion. She has once sensed a snowball being tossed and sense the Blackbird cutting the atmosphere even though the distance between them was thousands of miles.[citation needed] She can sense any natural phenomena including earthquakes, storms, etc.. Storm can sense movements in the air or water mediums.
Thermal Variance: Ororo's body counteracts extremes of temperature, internally increasing or decreasing her temperature in contrast to its external environment to an unknown degree. In the Antarctic, while trying to alter the blizzards raging over its entirety she nearly fried her own system.
Energy Vision: With a blink, Storm can see the physical world around her as energy, including the human body's nervous system, which in turn allows her to counter all but the fastest attack.[citation needed] Added to her already formidable hand-to-hand abilities, this makes her a very tough opponent. Storm has also shown the ability to see in almost complete darkness.
Magical Potential: Storm's ancestry supports the use of magic and witchcraft. Many of her ancestors were sorceresses and priestesses.
Storm's maternal powers have even been linked to the real-world Rain Queens of Balobedu, the region from which her Sorceress Supreme ancestor, Ayesha, hails.
Storm's ancestor Ashake, who worships the Egyptian goddess Ma'at, also known as Oshtur, the mother of Agamotto. Oshtur appears to have strong favor for the bloodline of Ororo.
For some unknown reason, since the dawn of Atlantis, this line of African women has been given distinguishing features of white hair, blue eyes, and powerful magic potential.[citation needed] Although Storm has not developed her magical potential, it has been hinted at. The Tarot asserts Storm as being "High Priestess," the First Tarot's choice one-third of the time. The other draws were the Scarlet Witch and Agatha Harkness. These three characters split the High Priestess card equally. A timeline-divergent Storm became the sorceress who taught sorcery to Magik and some of Storm's alternate universe selves possess considerable magical talent. On a separate note, it has been stated that Storm's spirit is so strong that she was able to host the consciousness of an avatar (or "manifestation body") of Eternity; in a gathering consisting of herself, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Silver Surfer and the Fantastic Four, she and Strange were the only viable candidates.
Godhood: Storm has a gift of godhead passed from her ancestors. Black Panther considered her as a bigger god compared to Adversary, being recognized as a threat by said deity. The faith of Wakanda helped her ascend to godhood and made her a real goddess, granting her the power to defeat the powerful Adversary.
The Power of Faith: Storm can get power from people's belief in and prayers to her. The more people that believe in her, the more powerful she becomes. She once used the power to dissipate an unnatural storm that was from another world and created by Adversary, who was known as Sefako The Twice Risen God. She's also able to invoke Oshtur for help. She is also considered as a goddess called Hadari Yao who preserves the balance between all natural things.
Teleportation: Storm once used some wizards and witches' energy to create a portal based on lightning and teleported herself and others from realm to realm. This power may be related to her magical talents.

Gabriel Summers -- Powers and Abilities | Omega-Level mutant
Thus far, he has displayed the following abilities:
Energy Manipulation: Vulcan can psionically manipulate, control, and absorb vast amounts of energy as he sees fit. He can project radiation along the electromagnetic spectrum and even manipulate some exotic variants such as Cyclops optic blasts or Adam Warlock's magical energies.
Energy Absorption: Vulcan could absorb virtually any type of energy and channel that energy through his blasts. It is unknown if Vulcan could absorb energy to achieve other effects to increase his strength, physiology, or the like. His energy absorption ability and his ability to wield energy had their limits. For example, his brother Havok was capable of easily overpowering him with his raw power and had him at his mercy after Vulcan threw him into a Sun. He described himself as a "High Order Energy Manipulator" and an "Omega-Level Energy Manipulator".
Energy Blasts: Vulcan could generate light, heat, force, electricity, and other forms of energy and project them in the form of powerful energy blasts. He could generate these blasts from his hands as well as his eyes.
Flight: Vulcan was able to fly and levitate using his powers. He was capable of interstellar flight (adding more energy to become increasingly fast, presumably sub-light).
Solid Energy Constructs/Simulated Telekinesis: Vulcan could solidify his energy into force-fields and other shapes. The effect of his energy constructs could be used to simulate a form of telekinesis by lifting and moving objects.
Power Suppression: Vulcan could apparently use his powers to override those of another person's mutagenic aura by manipulating the electrical current of their brain, making them temporarily unable to use them.
Energy Detection: Vulcan was capable of detecting energy signatures from great distances when the power in question was potent. This included other mutants with energy powers usually at lesser ranges and starships at far greater rangers based on their star engines.
Energy Self-Sustenance: He also appeared capable of breathing in space as well as speaking by transmitting his voice as pure energy, though this ability seemed to be limited. If he didn't rest or find power other than his own, his reserve would leave him seemingly scarce until he did.
Healing: Also shown capable of healing from seemingly mortal injuries by manipulating his body's energy composition.
The full extent and speed of Vulcan's capacity to heal isn't known. The term healing is used in lieu of regeneration as Vulcan did not regenerate his eye or heal the scar inflicted on him by Gladiator.
Power Siphoning: Vulcan demonstrated the ability to siphon his opponents' powers. Vulcan was able to siphon Marvel Girl's power of telepathically accessing the psychic remnants of events that certain places held while he was suppressing her powers, it unknown whether or not he can siphon someones powers when that person is still able to access them. It is not known whether Vulcan permanently kept these powers or not, but it's unlikely.
Psionic Resistance: Vulcan proved highly resistant to psionic attacks. The only such attack to be successful was performed by Marvel Girl after he had already lowered his defense in order to show the X-Men his memories of Krakoa. In most cases he is able to use a telepath's own psionic energy to protect himself from the same.
LOL! only for you know, rebuilding the race in universe seven. ^_^ also to never have another gohan. Have i mentioned i can't stand Gohan. Storm would not want to be in the same room as Gohan.
Gohan is a cutie!!! and smart!! leave him alone lol.
True but he did show interdimensional range. He created a storm over Wakanda while in the prison dimension. 616 and the prison dimension are different universes.
excellent point!
ALL of y'all.
now you know the girls are not ready for this truth lol
Thing is...from their past encounters, Viktor already knew Storm is no push-over. And he respects her. Knowing these two characters, there's no way that scene would/could ever have played out differently with either character "humbling" themselves. (I wouldn't be surprised if Doom was "testing" her by letting his arrogance get the better of him...that so Doom!)
It's one thing to interpret how a story/scene goes to one's taste but some readers need to inform that comprehension with knowledge on the character histories and not wishful head-canon.
