Well it doesn't apply to mutants anymore. All mutants are citizens of krakoa by birthright unless renounced by said mutant. Also the hostility you are saying comes from storm and mystique, let me ask you a question do you think a celebrity can barge into let's say China's embassy or high commission in america and start making demands of them. What do you think is going to happen if that occurs. Even scott the captain commander of krakoa was scolded when he interrupted a quiet council meeting without being invited. Now were the avengers invited to the embassy, nope. did they seek an audience or just entered making demands, yep. Did they risk placing the United States in diplomatic incident with krakoa, YES! The fact that they are leaving the same way they came shows that storm still has deep respect for them as a team. They acted a fool next time they should make their grievances known through the proper channels.
Also shouldn't captain america be combating this law, he has sooo much clout in the country he is freaking Captain America. Rescuing children from a concentration camp is terrific, but what happens to the children brought the next day or the next or the day after that. As storm implied he would find better success fighting the law makers than standing in krakoa yelling.
Actually in the present Captain America series the public is actually turning on Cap. He doesn’t have as much political pull as you think he does in the U.S. government. Even when him and Carol went before congress to oppose the law they got rejected. So Storm telling him talk to his lawmakers, well they did and the lawmakers shot them down too. Now going in there to demand to talk to Xavier I’ll give you that was a terrible approach. Though acting like young people, who others view as mutants though it hasn’t been confirmed, isn’t a huge cause for concern due to the optics around said law is a huge international incident waiting to happen and it was urgent that they be given a talking to before it spirals out of control.

That is why storm took their advice. Infact she does still respect them like I said if it were magneto they won't be leaving there all smug. But storm understood there is wisdom in what they are saying and asked mystique to help her track them down. That is why when people are saying this is bad and storm is being a bitch I am surprised. If anything she handled it gracefully given the foolishness of the avenger's actions.

I don't know what to say. You're just flat out wrong on so many points. For starters, embassy are open to the public. They went in the front door and spoke to the secretary in the entrance. They broke zero laws. Demanding to speak with Xavier was bad, but it was also super weird for 2 members of the QC to be within earshot in the same embassy. Again, they should have just called. And nothing has ever given even the slightest indication that citizens of Krakoa are now immune to all laws everywhere forever. Even the fiercest critics of this entire relaunch would never say that that was the case.

Excuse me please but where did you learn that it is open to the general public? First of no it's not you can't just enter an embassy trust me I travel a lot. Also the people with easiest access to an embassy are citizens of the country if said embassy. Are they krakoan last I checked nope! They entered in started demanding to see xavier, now if you as a citizen of the united States enters the china embassy and do what they did. Just answer me how this will play out. Oh also two QC members in a krakoans embassy is literally not the strangest thing here. It is their embassy all 12 can be there it wouldn't be part of the avenger's business. Why? Because it is the krakoan embassy! Well let's see how restricting mutants based on human laws works for the the nation in question then.
Also last but not least mystique is not a secretary she is a head of state. What they did was flat out disrespectful and the fact that they are not in some jail cell thinking about their foolishness is a testament to storm's mercy.

First off Duplicate Man is the secretary that was being referenced. Two they wouldn’t have been arrested since apparently the front door was wide open and it’s not shown that there is a gate in front of it so they were breaking no laws. Three Storm, and I love her as a fan, wouldn’t have been able to do anything beyond having security escort them out. She had a point about the approach, but she should know a potential international incident is something any hero be they mutant or hero would rush to quell.
The issue with Storm wasnt that she couldnt destroy the cloud;its that she wouldnt. The wrote her as trying to respect the Inhumans and Medusa's wishes with that BS truce when she should have told her to f--k off and did what she needed to to protect her people
Honestly that was one of the dumbest things Marvels pulled in both A) Storm not acting to protect her people and B) the Inhumans ignoring the previous 50 years of their own continuity that would have had them trying to get the cloud back in crystallised form ASAP

This is important context and an editor definitely should have stepped in.
I was only aware of Cyclops and Marauders helping the Champions, and from that perspective I thought Storm was totally in the right, because when it came to helping human teens they didn’t pull up to Avengers HQ to complain... they just helped.
Ultimately I like Storm’s firmness in the scene but yeah I can admit it’s very contrived.

if we look at the scans we can see that Storm arrives at the exact moment when Mystique asks if the avengers are threatening them, Storm heard this and probably for this reason chose this approach.

Listen in the beginning who were the avengers talking to, because unless you are now steve rogers I will suggest he made a demand as he entered. He didnt say multiple man, but spoke towards the both of them as they were standing together. Also every embassy and how you can enter I can enter dutch embassies easier than I can british embassies. Krakoa is very particulate about the presence of humans on the island even people like deadpool have been met with hostility even though technically they have sort of a claim too. He entered demanding with a condescending tone mystique told him to watch his tone as he is now in krakoa. Then she went on to listen it all they were saying though true was in a way that any diplomat reading will scratch their eyeballs, they were making threats implying it at the very least. Mystique telling them is that a threat was a way of letting them know they are just making the situation worse. Also like I said if it were magneto they would be singing a very different tune. Storm entered when mystique said is that a threat.

Storm was right to assert a slow your roll tone. Which is very on point with Storm’s leadership character. Mystique talking about a threat is laughable since she herself is a potential threat to Krakoa. Humans are not allowed on the main island, though any Krakoan based building is subject to discretion depending on use. The front view of the embassy shows you can walk in from the street to the front desk. Though I do thank you for correcting me on Multiple Man.

People also aren't taking into account the covid delay and how this was marketed around the same time as Outlaw so i think it's a little disingenious when some say Vita is just creating conflict. If this was released when it was suppose to Storm just saw what happened because of outlaw and that was the reason she was called in by cyclops for the marauders to help and protect the actual sidekicks of the same avengers that just showed up acting like they are doing more than lip service. Thats not even to count as i mentioned in the other thread she is wearing her most heroic outfit meaning obviously she is in new york to at least investigate as she said last issue.
Lastly it also shows how stuck in the past the Avengers are. Why would they conme in asking for Xavier and once they saw mystique, despite how they feel, because lord knows the mutants have no reason to respect any political figure in the MU, they could have had the conversation with the council member who is at the same table as Xavier. Where else can anyone walk into an embassy and get an immediate meeting with a head of state. And then Storm made sure to mention they were guests so at least the world knows despite them showing up fully dressed with the trio, they were just coming with information.

No matter how you feel about mystique and trust me I feel plenty, she is now a head of state. Like I pointed out before heads have an obligation to their people and speak on behalf of the nation and it's citizen. When she said is that a threat she meant is that a threat against krakoa? It is not about her personal convictions but her current duty to the nation especially it's future the children.

That is what I am saying. People are still having this impressions that mystique and Storm are just normal heroes when that is not the case anymore. When you enter an embassy you treat the people with respect you don't just make demands.
Love that you pointed out the guest part. Storm still values the avengers and it shows but like I said the way the avengers handled it was just bad. Tony calling the children your rugrats to mystique imagine an american soldier saying that to Putin about Russian children. All hell would break loose. Storm handled it gracefully she is not one to tolerate foolishness and will check anyone even logan knows better than to get on her bad side.

I dont think storm would care about titles like that. she isn't that pretentious, especially considering she's worked with these heroes before. the hostility on both sides was unnecessary.
