A better fight would have been storm vs the four nations and the avatar.... That would have been fair.
Very true! When it takes multiple air benders to make a wind funnel than it’s no contest. The only thing Korra has is the Avatar state and Storm could handle that fairly easy I believe
-
Storm is vastly more powerful than the benders of the Avatar world, but I would love to see Ororo interact with them. Seeing her adopt some of their techniques, amped with her greater capacity, would be epic!

I would assume Storm would be seen as a goddess to the Air Nomads.

I came back, took time out of all this to "breathe"
can someone update me with news, events that are happening?
Lol, i really didn't like Korra. I actually thought the side characters were more interesting. ..and I loved Amon and Kuvira.
I felt the exact opposite lol. I thought the side characters were terrible outside Aang's son. The main thing that kept me interested in that show was Korra and the villains, who are best the entire franchise has to offer. Especially Amon and Kuvira like you said. Other than that I never cared for the show tbh.

Same. All the side characters just weren't good. Tenzin and Varrick were about the only side characters I enjoyed. But I actually loved Korra and the series as a whole. I know some thought it was inferior to TLA but I thought this was a worthy followup.

I'm sorry but Bolin made the series for me...Korra was so boring and I had to fight to watch Book 2 and 3.
I will admit a bright spot was the story of Wang...I could have done an entire series on that.
Anyway, I can't wait to see this Deathmatch between Korra and Storm.

Yep yep yep yep this a billion% Korra was my Jam.

You’ve all reminded me that I desperately need to continue Legend of Korra. I think the first season was one of the last things I watched before cancelling my cable. Anyways, I hope Storm wins. The loser’s death is usually very violent, I don’t want to see her being brutalized like that, even in an unofficial animation.

Why would they set Korra up to get stomped like that lol. She's strong in the Avatar state but I don't think she's really putting up much of a fight against Ororo. But Korra got hands so maybe it will come down to that.
That's typically how fights on that channel go, the characters either fight themselves to exhaustion and someone gets in a lucky hit or they just keep escalating in power until one unceremoniously kills the other. Wouldn't be surprised if Korra has the upper hand for the first few minutes before Ororo decides to get serious and turns her blood to ice or something lol.

I'm sure it's all fun and games till Storm decides to take it to the next level.

Who is storm shutting down here
-
I think it really depends on the version of Storm they go with. Korra has chance with the a couple of the Storms (i.e. maybe WatX or movie verse), but any other she should lose. 616 Storm is an epic stomp. For 616 I think H2H would be close since Korra is a highly skilled fighter and pretty strong and durable.

The X-Cutioner, from Uncanny X-Men Annual 17.
It actually had a funny Storm and Archangel moment. I even love the artwork.

That's the thing though eventhough movie verse storm was weak as f she is still power powerful than the avatar by far. I mean this version can hover far above the ground and can fly. She can create a storm sooo Savage it shook the Himalayan mountains and took out many sentinels and can travel through lightning. Korra is highly skilled combatant than movie storm so yh she would beat her in hand to hand combat infact Korra is sooo skilled she might even match comic storm in hand to hand combat. But if we are being fair it won't even come to that.
-
Korra is a good fighter, but Kuvira basically embarrassed her for a whole season. She's good, but not unmatched. Storm's hand to hand is equivalent, if not greater(Storm is still a beast without her powers).

I wouldn't use Kuvira as a good example given Korra was suffering from PTSD and still recovering from poisoning during that season.

Bruh she had PTSD during her encounter with kuvira the first time, she couldn't even use the avatar state because the PTSD was still jobbing her.
Their second encounter she was much better and could focus on what was going on and was handling kuviras's ass to her. Plus in season 3 where she was at her physical and mental peak she literally never lost a fight it took injecting metalic poison into her veins to give the other guys whom where the best assassin's in the world a fighting chance. So yh I am going to say she was kinda unmatched when it comes to physical combat.
-
I wouldn't use Kuvira as a good example given Korra was suffering from PTSD and still recovering from poisoning during that season.
Exactly, even with the poison they still couldn't take her down that easily and had to wait for it to truly damage her before striking. Korra is a physical combat behemoth that's her thing! Kinda like how aang was a spiritual guru and all. But even so she still ain't no match for storm even on her best day.
-

I remember laughing at the speech she gave before their first fight with her saying Korra could use the Avatar state in their duel! Homegirl was feeling herself but I was like you need to take several seats lol! You ain't no Avatar level threat! She's lucky Korra had a panic attack right after she activated her Avatar state to wreck Kuvira cause otherwise she was literally about to get crushed by that boulder.
-
I've kept the knowledge of the upcoming Death battle from my friends and family, the storm teasing is relentless. I've just been walking around house screaming "two weeks!".
And we haven't watched the latest death battle yet so... Just waiting... Sitting on this bomb.lol.

Yh we all know if it wasn't for that panic attack Korra would have killed kuvira. As Korra ain't no aang when it comes to ending someone.
-
It is true that Korra was still recovering from the poisoning and all that. Korra probably loves fighting more than Ororo does, but Ororo has that wild, bezerker quality [that she actively tries to suppress] in her that pushes her further. Ororo will cut you, will kill you, when pressed. Korra is more innocent in this regard; although Storm treasures peace, she is very good at making war!
-
I was reading an old thread from like 2018 with Storm vs Korra (I have no life when I'm not at work, moving on...) and people really underestimate Storm's H2H skills. The way they talk she could hardly hold her own against even the usual fodder of the Avatar-verse, never mind people like Korra or Aang.
-

That's the thing though: they don't choose a specific version of the character. They take into account every feat they've performed across all media. The fight should be extremely biased when you weigh 50 years worth of accomplishments against 4 season of a tv show, but maybe they'll throw a curveball in Korra's favor.

Yh the strongest hand to hand fighters in the avatar universe too 10 aang is not part he used airbending to evade shit all the time. Korra on the other hand had raw strength and skill and was very direct. But storm is kinda better than her in hand to hand combat obviously not as good as Tylee or even azula but definitely better than Korra. Korra's only advantage over her is raw strength but we all know our goddess just needs a good knife to fell a foe.
Also side note. On twitter there are people that are saying Korra would beat storm. And all I can say is that this is what you get when you don't develop Storm's abilities beyond lightning bolts and giving her knife fights every month instead of letting her be omega. They were even making jokes that storm's knifes won't save her as Korra had metal bending and could easily counter her knife mutation.
-
I would say Korra is very very good at making war and an absolute mess of things. Like that is the reason some people hate her. And I am very sure Korra has killed someone before maybe not on screen but definitely. That show was very hard like people were offing people offing themselves and shit. It wasn't that kiddie show last Airbender lol.

Look ya'll better put some respect on Kuvira's name...

Looks like Storm could potentially lose in SWORD…..
Here is the solicit for “Secret X-Men #1” coming in February:
“When the Shi'ar Empire faces an unexpected threat, they must call upon the X-Men. Team co-captains Sunspot and Cannonball will lead Marrow, Tempo, Forge, Banshee, Strong Guy, Armor, and Boom-Boom on a dangerous mission to save a figure of paramount importance—the daughter of Professor X and empress of the Shi'ar: Xandra!”

Yh beating someone suffering from PTSD ain't something to be respected for like sis was almost killed if it weren't for that panic attack. She was hitting Korra left right front center when Korra hit her just twice she was struggling to get up.

Uh...ok. I'm just showing off Kuvira's skill.
I wasn't even thinking about all that other stuff. Yes, Korra was having issues but that was her fault for getting into a fight and not being mentally stable to fight.

How did you extrapolate "Storm could potentially lose..." from a solicit that doesn't even mention Storm,, for a one-shot issue releasing four months from now?

A better show of Skill would be when she fought those bandits, the fight with suyin or the last battle with Korra though Korra still beat her she did manage a few nice hits.

Nah, people on Reddit are also wondering the same. Just said it’s a possibility, unless Xandra is facing an entirely new threat, which is also possible but kind of redundant if that’s the case. Would be the hundredth time she needs saving. I’m not advocating for Storm to lose lol… In fact I hope she doesn’t
