I was reading this yesterday! Looks like Storm is officially a free agent. We'll see her making solo appearances in other films, animated movies (although DC animated movies are way better than Marvel's), and hopefully they cast the best Storm ever. A fully black one who isn't mixed with white

as much as I would love this to be true storm just was leaving the marauders. I still believe her to be a member of the council. now if their plan is to have her join cyclops and jean team then maybe but even still she would still be an active participant in krakoa.

Was just thinking about this too. That could be interesting if yhe X-Men book becomes a Storm focused run like a Legacy book.

ouch. the relevance to storm is highlight just how grossly under utilized she is by her own franchise. carol, who has zero magical history, is about to explore magical connections in her book while Storm mostly is shown using lightning. pretty sad imho

Well the only person on that cover who has proven to sell was Jane Foster.
Shuri being on that cover is for Black Panther 2 and her novel that is in stores now.
Electra is now Daredevil but can boast a movie.
Of the stories that mentioned one does sound like an Electra story.
Gamora, Jane & Shuri have roles in movies slated to come out-why no mention of them?
Marrow being mention speaks volumes. It appears Marvel thinks she can sell way more than Storm. She got a lead story and so far Storm looks like she is doing cover duty.

I don't think this has anything to do with how Marvel values Storm as solo capable character and more how Marvel tries to promote who they got writing on the book. Which includes a known indie-comic writer and artist who happens to have expressed interest in writing a story with Marrow in it for years.
So it might not be that Marvel thinks she will sell better than Storm and more that they think said writer's name will create interest/attention in the title and if said writer wants a particular c-lister over an a-lister they might have decided to just roll with it.

WHO is Sophie Campbell??? I had to look her up.
The ONLY thing of hers I own is from Milestone Forever under her previous name of Ross Campbell.
Storm is still a bigger name. She is also a bigger name than Marrow. Would make sense to confirm there is a story with her.

The story isnt about her so she doesnt need to be in that writeup about it. Heck, she may not even be in it; thats only speculation based on her history with Marrow. If she is, then that explains why she is on the cover bc like you said, she is the bigger name. You want it to sell-she better do more than be background or supporting cast.
If we are talking a $3.99 book MAYBE but this will be priced higher.
Folks are not paying for covers cameos. Looking at that book-it's a PASS. At least list the stories so folks will know who EVERYBODY is doing the book. Funny DC can do that. Why is that an issue here?
