you're welcome stormy I thought that uncanny image was just her bioelectric lightning and not a sunbeam.
this is why I valued so much what coates did for her character. let me say this first I do appreciate everything Ewing has done with ororo but as you said I would love for them to actually dig into the goddess abilities beyond just calling her one. I would love for this to be explained more. perhaps as amenth is explored more Ewing may look to develop this more but you're right. I hoping Ewing won't be afraid to go deeper in the regard but but the looks of her new outfit it seems she gone be more earth fighter than heavenly goddess. however it would be nice if all aspects of this were embraced. why choose when we can have it all? we shall we though
You do know that this is not up to Ewing but up to the higher-ups in Marvel. If they say no to such development, Ewing can't do a thing. He needs to oblige as per what was asked of him or where the limitations were set. If you ask me, what Marvel really needs is a huge shake in the higher-up's seats. Keep those who actually do jobs like Kevin Faige and those who discriminate... fire them and put people who actually will make the company better.

I was watching some YouTube videos about omega and beyond omega level cahrachters and in the omega level section the black representation was scant not to talk of beyond omega where they are virtually non existent. This not only a marvel problem but a comic problem. There are virtually no black cosmic beings and even fewer nigh omnipotent beings and I sit down and think as to why this is the case. I mean I do get that most creators are white so they would likely create omnipotent charachters in their image but literally all of the omnipotent/ cosmic charachters are white or white coded and that bugged me. Because what does this say, that black people can't be part of cosmic heirachy? Or that the running of a universe is a white exclusive thing club. Anyways it is what it is. I realize that no matter how powerful storm becomes the fandom would denigrate her or low-ball her because in their mind she is black so hence can't be an almighty charachter not like magneto or jean or David or hell even bobby. They literally can't fathom it.
It just rubs me the wrong way. That's why I stated it other than that looking forwards to a good year for storm hope we see her become who she was always meant to be an omega level goddess.

Like why are the black pantheons not explored? Why those gods don't matter? Why is Odin and Zeus running the god show in marvel and why is Gaea always a caucasian when in cannon she is all races. Aside bast I can't name one black god in marvel hadari yao but that is an MIA situation maybe anansi but ehhh. Like where are the freaking black gods! Or black people can't be divine?

Lack of diversity among Marvel writers and editors. But in a country that is 18 percent Latino and where Asians are the fastest growing group, diversity doesn’t just mean throw in Black people. They’d have to thrown in Asian and Native pantheons, along with African. Middle Eastern too.

Was watching the Xmen TAS genosha episodes today and really appreciated this trio and how like in the comics Storm always believes in Remy.

Oh I know the other minorities are also left out of the equation of supermega beings but in marvel we have a pantheon for the heavenly dragons it's not much but these beings are at least able to affect the pheonix itself. I haven't encountered a native American god aside Advesary and he is evil *eye roll* but when it comes to black pantheons little to nothing only bast and some obscure Orisha whom don't talk. Like I am sorry but if any skyfather is going to be on top it should be the Hindu skyfathers given just how old and how many still worship them. But nope it's Odin and I am like ohk. But can we have black gods or is that too much. Al Ewing bless him tried to make the Olympians diverse but we all know someone would come and retcon Hera back to Caucasian. I just want good stories with African gods and Hadari yao is a very good way to start.

There’s another problem. Greco-Roman and Norse gods are commonly taught in American schools, other gods far less so, if at all. You would have to hire writers, editors, and executives familiar with those cultures to make this happen. It broadly won’t happen until Disney becomes more diverse. Perhaps you should be a part of this change and find a way to get a job at Marvel as a writer or editor.
-
American Horror story include Legba in the Marie Laveau episodes. Doctor Voodoo does evoke African gods in his spells, but the issue with him is Marvel doesn’t use him much. Maybe if he gets his own MCU show it would be the perfect way to truly bring the Orishas or other gods from non elite culltures to Marvel.
-
Come to think of it a Storm Disney plus series or tv show could introduce the orishas. Shang Chi is huge and introduced Asian mystical elements and culture.

Come to think of it, that could be it, and it makes this moment even more fascinating, potentially Ororo generated enough energy to be compared to the "sun"
Monica might be as powerful. But definitely there is gender and racial discrimination against non white characters. But at least Storm
Was made queen of Arrako and she recently killed those villains with air pressure. It was a pretty good feat.
Yes, in my opinion Monica and Storm are Marvel's two most powerful black women, while one is written as a classy BC character, serving more as a supporting cast on teams, but still proving extremely versatile and powerful, the other that even being extremely popular, it is potentially treated by writers as a tool to generate movement in history, which over time its powers have been limited by whoever wrote it, by sheer ignorance, laziness, racism, only now has its powers better explored, of creative way, but even so, both, or rather Storm, have more "planetary" exploits, as white characters have more explored moments of related cosmic levels.
I really hope that Al Ewing continues to develop Storm, and other writers who start to treat her with more respect, and who knows, maybe one day, we'll see more Hadari Yao moments fully consolidated into various solo titles, moments, feats, mine eyes water just thinking about it.

Halle has made a big comeback in Hollywood. She is a director now and got a deal at Netflix. She talked about the crappy script for Catwoman and the absurd villain.
Why am I mentioning this? She has campaigned to be Storm again. And with that brining back Andrew Garfield and Tobey MacGuire in Spider Man No Way Home, they say the X-Men will be in Dr. Strange 2. We may see Halle as Storm next year. Thoughts?

Look, I love me some Halle Berry and I can tell you she was awful as Storm. It wasn't just the weak script - thought they never gave her much to work with - she doesn't have the right character presence to play Storm.
I am confident Marvel will cast a more comic book accurate version for the X-Men's introduction into the MCU.

This.
If Halle really does feel such a connection with Storm then let her use her voice/platform to keep a flame under the fat cats in the MCU to do Storm properly. Some time ago someone in here said she should play Ainet (Storm's tutor/2nd mother) and I feel that would work well.

Nah she sucked as Storm and as Catwoman. She's just not good at playing comic characters.

Same here. She's a great actress but when it comes to playing comic book characters her acting skills give me Beyonce teas and i'm not here for it

Personally, as long as she does a good job I don’t care. I don’t think she sucked as Storm or Catwoman.
I see the MCU wanting to use Halle’s name recognition.
-
Halle got a lot of flak that a white male or White female actor would never get. Take Catwoman. She was not the only person in Catwoman. Obviously it has a writer, director, and other actors. The movie was critically planned, yet to say she is not good atsming comic book movies bars in this is absurd.
I’m a writer. The script itself had serious flaws. The main villain, played by Sharon Stone was selling plastic surgery treatments that could petrify people like it did her. That’s not the most compelling villain, and that’s why the film was a commercial failure.
As for X-Men? What dramatic acting did the others bring to their roles than Halle supposedly didn’t? Singer nerfed all the female characters and all of the focus was on three white male characters. Wolverine, Xavier, and Magneto.
Storm was just the token Black.
I don’t think any actor could have done that great a job as Storm in those movies, and that’s due to how Singer and Fox handled the franchise. After all Sunspot twice got white washed, and so did Dr. Reyes. So Fox really wanted an all white cast, they stuck on Halle as a token and people want to comply blame her because they didn’t like th character?

IF they are going to do a 50 year old Storm i'd rather viola davis play Storm than halle. That's how much i feel Halle was miscast.
-
Ugh! This series is what made me dislike the Rachel Summers character so much. Bish tried to mess with my Storm so much.
Storm told her that Rachel can't stop her even if she tried. That's when I knew this girl was way over her head. I mean she tried the same thing with Emma toll she was schooled and Emma doesn't have the amount of raw power that storm has. A fight between storm and Rachel would be bad for Rachel.

Halle is and always has been one of my faves but her storm was very bad to the point of cringe. I always wondered why the f did storm not stop that Dam flood rather it was Jean who ended up killing herself and causing problems for everyone. Why didn't she just do more also her storm acting was very weak I felt no power or conviction from her the only thing she gave was dainty girl. Like that is not storm.

Even beyond the script halle had no presence as Storm. I would not believe she was a woman that command the primal forces of the elements. There was no toughness, no bite, it was like pageant storm. And i'm a halle fan too but not every role is for everybody.
I'd take Whoopi Goldberg over halle if all disney/marvel cares about is a handful of named black people.

I would get a series of them on these kind of adventures in a hot second. The next issue could show how thor get its done. They just work as an adventure buddies duo. And as a young goddess it just makes so much sense Thor would take on a bit of a mentor role because while she has been a mutant for a long time she is essentially and infant when it comes to being a goddess.
