Alright, this is an unpopular opinion but i don't care. I'm not a fan of that Russell dude's art, it just looks out of place in terms of a comic book it just looks like some fan drawings from deviant art it's good to look at when the image is still but in action it doesn't work on panels. And that hellfire gala thing was... something i guess. The xmen characters that dressed up looked like goofballs i ain't even gonna front with yall, especially Prof. Homeboy looked like a throw away extra from a pop rock group from the 80s or if vanilla ice was a white fava flav.

honestly I don't even know what the gala thing was for anyway. It didn't serve any purpose imo

I guess state dinners and hosting of dignitaries are also of no purpose.

Hey! Opinions are welcome not everyone is gonna like everything and that's ok. But the Gala is still on going and it does serve a purpose.
The meta reason is that it's supposed to mimic The MET GALA that happens in real life the other purpose is that it's an event where Krakoa can show off! We have to remember that Krakoa is a brand spanking new nation like it's not even a year old yet and it's already managed to wedge it's way into the United Nation and take a large foothold into Earth's economy. And Magneto and Xavier have stated in no uncertain terms that they plan on making Krakoa the leading superpower nation on earth.
This Gala is a part of that Emma Frost has invited allies and enemies of mutant kind all in one place to serve a specific purpose. To make to allies and send a message to their enemies that Krakoa is not to be messed with.
This Gala is a subtle show of political strength.

Say IT! I am shocked that some of us don't know that states good dinners and galas all the time.
Dauterman truly draws a beautiful X-men team and I just love seeing Rogue, Jean, Storm together.

How can something that isn't finished definitively serve no purpose?

Those are avatar-perfect. Werneck is definitely the best, after Dauterman.
agreed she looks divine. I simply have no complaints with how she has been drawn. they draw her in a way that makes her look majestic and regal. I love it!
